अगन्म महा नमसा यविष्ठं यो दीदाय समिद्धः स्वे दुरोणे । चित्रभानुँ रोदसी अन्तरुर्वी स्वाहुतं विश्वतः प्रत्यञ्चम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! कौन सी ऐसी जगह है, जहां आप नहीं जा सकते? आप स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक में भलीभांति प्रज्वलित (प्रकाशित) होते हैं. आप खूब प्रकाशवान, अच्छी आहुतियों वाले व युवा हैं. हम आप को नमस्कार करते हैं और आप की शरण में हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! What's the place you can't go to? You are well illuminated in heaven and earth. You are very light, good-hearted and young. We greet you and are in your shelter. (1)
स मह्ना विश्वा दुरितानि साह्वानग्नि ष्टवे दम आ जातवेदाः । स नो रक्षिषद्दुरितादवद्यादस्मान्गृणत उत नो मघोनः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप का प्रकाश ज्ञान वाला है. आप उस प्रकाश को फैलाते रहते हैं. आप तेजस्वी हैं और संसार के सभी पापों का नाश करने में समर्थ हैं. आप दुष्कर्म करने से हमें रोकते हैं और हमारी रक्षा करते हैं. आप हमारी आहुतियों को ग्रहण करते हैं. आप हमारे प्रति कल्याण की भावना धारण करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Your light is knowledgeable. You keep spreading that light. You are brilliant and capable of destroying all the sins of the world. You stop us from committing rape and protect us. You accept our sacrifices. You hold a sense of well-being towards us. (2)
त्वं वरुण उत मित्रो अग्ने त्वां वर्धन्ति मतिभिर्वसिष्ठाः । त्वे वसु सुषणनानि सन्तु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! वसिष्ठ ऋषि विशेष बुद्धिपूर्वक आप की स्तुति करते हैं. आप वरुण व मित्र स्वरूप हैं. आप के धन कल्याणकारी हों. आप अपनी मंगलकारी भावनाओं से हमारी रक्षा कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Vasishtha Rishi praises you with special intelligence. You are Varun and friendly. Your wealth should be welfare. Protect us from your auspicious feelings. (3)
महाँ इन्द्रो य ओजसा पर्जन्यो वृष्टिमाँ इव । स्तोमैर्वत्सस्य वावृधे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र महान व प्रकाशमान हैं. वे अपने प्रिय भक्तों की स्तुतियों से बढ़ोतरी पाते हैं. वे बरसने वाले बादलों की भांति हैं. उपासक उन के पुत्र की तरह है. (४)
EN English Translation
Indra is great and enlightening. They get increased by the praises of their beloved devotees. They are like rain clouds. The worshipper is like the son of them. (4)
कण्वा इन्द्रं यदक्रत स्तोमैर्यज्ञस्य साधनम् । जामि ब्रुवत आयुधा ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! ऐसा कहा जाता है कि उस समय यज्ञ की निगरानी या रक्षा के लिए किसी भी साधन की जरूरत नहीं रह जाती, जब कण्व जैसे ऋषि अपनी स्तुतियों से आप को यज्ञ का रक्षक बना लेते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! It is said that there is no need for any means to monitor or protect the yajna at that time, when sages like Kanva make you the protector of the yajna with their praises. (5)
प्रजामृतस्य पिप्रतः प्र यद्भरन्त वह्नयः । विप्रा ऋतस्य वाहसा ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दिव्य अग्नियां आकाश में भर जाती हैं. वे तीव्र गति से इंद्र को यज्ञ स्थान पर पहुंचा देती हैं. तब ब्राह्मणगण उन की स्तुति करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Divine agnis fill the sky. She takes Indra to the yajna place at a fast pace. Then the Brahmins praise him. (6)
