यो न जी॒वोऽसि॒ न मृ॒तो दे॒वाना॑ममृतग॒र्भोऽसि॑ स्वप्न । व॑रुणा॒नी ते॑ मा॒ता य॒मः पि॒ताररु॒र्नामा॑सि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वप्न! न तुम जीवित हो, न मृत हो. तुम इंद्रियों के अधिष्ठाता अग्नि आदि देवों के अमृत से पूर्ण हो. वरुण की पत्नी तेरी माता और यम तेरे पिता हैं. तेरा नाम दुःख देने वाला अशुभ अररु है. (१)
EN English Translation
O dream! You are neither alive nor dead. You are full of the nectar of the gods like agni etc. the presiding deity of the senses. Varun's wife is your mother and Yama is your father. Your name is the inauspicious Arru that gives sorrow. (1)
वि॒द्म ते॑ स्वप्न ज॒नित्रं॑ देवजामी॒नां पु॒त्रोऽसि॑ य॒मस्य॒ कर॑णः । अन्त॑कोऽसि मृ॒त्युर॑सि॒ । तं त्वा॑ स्वप्न॒ तथा॒ सं वि॑द्म॒ स नः॑ स्वप्न दुः॒ष्वप्न्या॑त्पाहि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वप्न के अभिमानी देव! हम तुम्हारे जन्म को जानते हैं. तुम वरुणानी आदि देव पत्नियों के पुत्र एवं यम के साधन हो, इसलिए तुम अंतक और मृत्यु हो. हे स्वप्न! हम तुझे उसी प्रकार जानते हैं. तू बुरे स्वप्न से उत्पन्न दुःख से हमारी रक्षा कर. (२)
EN English Translation
O proud god of dreams! We know your birth. You varunani etc. are the son of dev wives and the instrument of Yama, so you are eternal and death. O dream! That's how we know you. Protect us from the sorrow caused by nightmares. (2)
यथा॑ क॒लां यथा॑ श॒फं यथ॒र्णं सं॒नय॑न्ति । ए॒वा दुः॒ष्वप्न्यं॒ सर्वं॑ द्विष॒ते सं न॑यामसि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जैसे गाय के खुर आदि दूषित अंगों को काट कर दूर कर देते हैं, जैसे ऋणी मनुष्य साहूकार को धन देता है, उसी प्रकार बुरे स्वप्न से उत्पन्न सभी भयों को मैं उस मनुष्य को देता हूं जो मुझ से द्वेष करता है. (३)
EN English Translation
Just as cow's hoofs etc. cut off the contaminated organs and remove them, just as a indebted man gives money to the moneylender, in the same way, I give all the fears arising out of the nightmare to the man who hates Me. (3)
