हे पृथ्वी! तुम में जो सर्प निवास करते हैं, उन का दंश प्यास लगाने वाला है. तुम में जो बिच्छू हैं, वे हेमंत ऋतु में डंक नीचे किए हुए गुफा में शयन करते हैं. वर्षा ऋतु में प्रसन्नता पूर्वक विचरण करने वाले ये प्राणी अर्थात् सांप और बिच्छू मेरे समीप न आएं. (४६)
EN English Translation
O earth! The bite of the serpents that dwell in you is the one who thirsts. The scorpions among you sleep in the cave with the sting down in the hemant season. These creatures, i.e. snakes and scorpions, who roam happily in the rainy season, should not come near me. (46)
