Kanda 16 • Sukta 7
तेनै॑नंविध्या॒म्यभू॑त्यैनं विध्यामि॒ निर्भू॑त्यैनं विध्यामि॒ परा॑भूत्यैनं विध्यामि॒ग्राह्यै॑नं विध्यामि॒ तम॑सैनं विध्यामि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं इस अर्थात् बुरे स्वप्र को अभिचार कर्म अर्थात् जादूटोने से, दुर्गति से, दरिद्रता से तथा रोग से विद्ध करता हूं. (१)
EN English Translation
I am protecting this evil self from abhichar karma i.e. witchcraft, evil, poverty and disease. (1)
दे॒वाना॑मेनंघो॒रैः क्रू॒रैः प्रै॒षैर॑भि॒प्रेष्या॑मि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं इस बुरे स्वप्र को देवताओं की भयंकर आज्ञाओं के सामने उपस्थित करता हूं. (२)
EN English Translation
I present this evil self before the terrible commandments of the gods. (2)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं इस बुरे स्वप्न को वैश्वानर अर्थात् अग्नि की दाढ़ों में डालता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
I put this bad dream in the vines of Vaishvanar i.e. agni. (3)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वैश्वानर इस बुरे स्वप्र को निगल जाएं. (४)
EN English Translation
Vaishvanar swallow this bad self.. (4)
योस्मान्द्वेष्टि॒ तमा॒त्मा द्वे॑ष्टु॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः स आ॒त्मानं॑ द्वेष्टु ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो हम से द्वेष करता हो, उस से आत्मा द्वेष करे. जिस से हम द्वेष करते हैं, वह आत्मा सेद्वेष करे. (५)
EN English Translation
The soul should hate the one who hates us. The one we hate should hate the soul. (5)
निर्द्वि॒षन्तं॑दि॒वो निः पृ॑थि॒व्या निर॒न्तरि॑क्षाद्भजाम ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो हम से द्वेष करता है, उसे हम आकाश, पृथ्वी और अंतरिक्ष से दूर भगाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
We drive away the one who hates us from the sky, earth and space. (6)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उत्तम नियामक और निरीक्षक! मैं बुरे स्वप्न से होने वाले फल को अमुक गोत्र वाले तथा अमुक स्त्री के पुत्र के पास भेजता हूं. (७)
EN English Translation
O best regulator and inspector! I send the fruit of the bad dream to the son of such a tribe and such a woman. (7)
इ॒दम॒हमा॑मुष्याय॒णे॒मुष्याः॑ पु॒त्रे दुः॒ष्वप्न्यं॑ मृजे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उत्तम नियामक और निरीक्षक! मैं बुरे स्वप्न से होने वाले फल को अमुक गोत्र वाले तथा अमुक स्त्री के पुत्र के पास भेजता हूं. (८)
EN English Translation
O best regulator and inspector! I send the fruit of the bad dream to the son of such a tribe and such a woman. (8)
यददोअदोअ॒भ्यग॑च्छ॒न् यद्दोषा यत्पूर्वां॒ रात्रि॑म् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं पहली रात में अमुकअमुक कर्म कर चुका हूं. जाग्रतावस्था में, सुषुप्तावस्था में, दिन में अथवा रात्रि में मैं नित्यप्रति जिस पाप और दोष को प्राप्त करता हूं, उन्हीं के द्वारा मैं उस बुरे स्वप्न को नष्ट करता हूं. (९)
EN English Translation
I have done such and such a thing in the first night. I destroy that bad dream through the sins and defects I receive every day in waking state, in a dormant state, in the day or at night. (9)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं पहली रात में अमुकअमुक कर्म कर चुका हूं. जाग्रतावस्था में, सुषुप्तावस्था में, दिन में अथवा रात्रि में मैं नित्यप्रति जिस पाप और दोष को प्राप्त करता हूं, उन्हीं के द्वारा मैं उस बुरे स्वप्न को नष्ट करता हूं. (१०)
EN English Translation

हे देव! उस शत्रु की हिंसा करो, उस के साथ चलो तथा उस की पसलियों को तोड़ दो. (१२)

O God! Do violence to that enemy, walk with him and break his ribs. (12)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वह प्राणहीन हो जाए, वह जीवित न रहे. (१३)
EN English Translation
Let him become lifeless, he should not survive. (13)
