शं न॑ इन्द्रा॒ग्नी भ॑वता॒मवो॑भिः॒ शं न॑ इन्द्रा॒वरु॑णा रा॒तह॑व्या । शमि॑न्द्रा॒सोमा॑ सुवि॒ताय॒ शं योः शं न॒ इन्द्रा॑पू॒षणा॒ वाज॑सातौ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र और अग्नि! तुम अपनी रक्षा बुद्धि के द्वारा हमारे सकल दुःखों को दूर करने वाले बनो. यजमानों के द्वारा हवि दिए गए इंद्र और वरुण हमारे दुःखों को दूर करें. इंद्र और सोम हमें सुख देने के लिए हमारा दुःख निवारण करें. इंद्र और पूषा देव भयंकर युद्ध में हमारे दुःखों, भयों एवं रोगों का शमन करें. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Agni! You become the remover of our gross sorrows through your protecting intellect. May Indra and Varuna, given by the hosts, remove our sorrows. May Indra and Soma relieve our sorrow to give us happiness. May Indra and Pusha Dev mitigate our sorrows, fears and diseases in a fierce battle. (1)
शं नो॒ भगः॒ शमु॑ नः॒ शंसो॑ अस्तु॒ शं नः॒ पुर॑न्धिः॒ शमु॑ सन्तु॒ रायः॑ । शं नः॑ स॒त्यस्य॑ सु॒यम॑स्य॒ शंसः॒ शं नो॑ अर्य॒मा पु॑रुजा॒तो अ॑स्तु ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भग और नराशंस देवता हमारा कल्याण करने वाले हों. हमारी बुद्धि और हमारा धन हमें सुख देने वाले हों. शोभन संयम से युक्त सत्य वचन हमारे दुःख निवारण और सुख देने के हेतु बनें. सब से आरंभ में उत्पन्न अर्यमा देव हमें सुख दें. (२)
EN English Translation
May the gods and blessings be our well-being. May our intellect and our wealth give us happiness. Let the true words with graceful restraint be made to relieve our sorrow and give us happiness. May Aryama Dev, born at the beginning of all, give us happiness. (2)
शं नो॑ धा॒ता शमु॑ ध॒र्ता नो॑ अस्तु॒ शं न॑ उरू॒ची भ॑वतु स्व॒धाभिः॑ । शं रोद॑सी बृह॒ती शं नो॒ अद्रिः॒ शं नो॑ दे॒वानां॑ सु॒हवा॑नि सन्तु ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सब का निर्माण करने वाले ब्रह्मा तथा वरुण देव हमें सुख देने वाले हों. पृथ्वी अन्नों के साथ हमारे दुःखों का निवारण कर के सुख देने वाली बने. धाता, पृथ्वी एवं पर्वत हमें सुख प्रदान करें. देवताओं की स्तुतियां हमारा कल्याण करें. (३)
EN English Translation
May Brahma and Varun Dev, who create everyone, give us happiness. The earth should be the giver of happiness by removing our sorrows with grains. May the earth, earth and mountains give us happiness. May the praises of the gods benefit us. (3)
शं नो॑ अ॒ग्निर्ज्योति॑रनीको अस्तु॒ शं नो॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णाव॒श्विना॒ शम् । शं नः॑ सु॒कृतां॑ सुकृ॒तानि॑ सन्तु॒ शं न॑ इषि॒रो अ॒भि वा॑तु॒ वातः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस के मुख में ज्योति है, ऐसी अग्नि हमें सुख देने वाले हों. मित्र, वरुण और अश्विनीकुमार हमारे सुख के कारण बनें. पुण्य कर्म करने वालों के उत्तम कर्म हमें सुख प्रदान करें. गमनशील वायु हमारे सुख के उद्देश्य से चले. (४)
EN English Translation
The one who has light in his mouth, such a agni is going to give us happiness. Friends, Varun and Ashwinikumar be the reason for our happiness. May the best deeds of those who do virtuous deeds give us happiness. Moving air should run for the purpose of our happiness. (4)
शं नो॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी पू॒र्वहू॑तौ॒ शम॒न्तरि॑क्षं दृ॒शये॑ नो अस्तु । शं न॒ ओष॑धीर्व॒निनो॑ भवन्तु॒ शं नो॒ रज॑स॒स्पति॑रस्तु जि॒ष्णुः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों के द्वारा सब से पहले स्तुति किए गए द्यावा और पृथ्वी हमारा कल्याण करने वाले हों. अंतरिक्ष अर्थात् मध्यम लोक हमारी दृष्टि को सुख देने वाला हो. ओषधियां अर्थात् जड़ीबूटियां तथा वनों के वृक्ष हमारा कल्याण करें. लोकों के पालनकर्ता एवं जयशील इंद्र हमें सुख प्रदान करें. (५)
EN English Translation
May the dyava and earth, praised by the gods first, be our welfare. Space means that the middle world gives happiness to our vision. Medicines i.e. herbs and trees of forests should benefit us. May The Swami of the Worlds and Jaisheel Indra give us happiness. (5)
शं न॒ इन्द्रो॒ वसु॑भिर्दे॒वो अ॑स्तु॒ शमा॑दि॒त्येभि॒र्वरु॑णः सु॒शंसः॑ । शं नो॑ रु॒द्रो रु॒द्रेभि॒र्जला॑षः॒ शं न॒स्त्वष्टा॒ ग्नाभि॑रि॒ह शृ॑णोतु ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वसु नाम के देवों के साथ इंद्र हमें सुख प्रदान करें. शोभन स्तुतियों वाले वरुण आदित्य देवों के साथ हमारा कल्याण करें. सुखकारी रुद्र रुद्रों के साथ हमें सुख दें. त्वष्टा देव सभी देव पत्नियों के साथ इस यज्ञ में हमें सुख प्रदान करने वाले बनें. (६)
EN English Translation
May Indra give us happiness with the gods named Vasu. May Varun, who has shoban praises, well-being with Aditya Devs. May Sukhkari Rudra give us happiness with Rudras. Tvashta Dev should be the one who gives us happiness in this yagya with all the dev wives. (6)
शं नः॒ सोमो॑ भवतु॒ ब्रह्म॒ शं नः॒ शं नो॒ ग्रावा॑णः॒ शमु॑ सन्तु य॒ज्ञाः । शं नः॒ स्वरू॑णां मि॒तयो॑ भवन्तु॒ शं नः॑ प्र॒स्वः शम्व॑स्तु॒ वेदिः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
निचोड़े गए सोम, स्तोत्रों तथा शंसों वाले मंत्र, सोमलता कुचलने के साधन पत्थर तथा यज्ञ हमारा कल्याण करें. यूपों के समूह हमें सुख दें. चरु और पुरोडाश बनाने में काम आने वाली तथा अधिकता से उत्पन्न होने वाली ओषधियां अर्थात जड़ीबूटियां हमारा कल्याण करें. यज्ञ की वेदी हमें सुख प्रदान करे. (७)
EN English Translation
May the mantras containing the squeezed soma, stotras and shanas, the means of crushing somalatha, the stones and the yajna bless us. May groups of yupas give us happiness. May the herbs, which are used in the making of charu and purodas, and produced by excess, do our welfare. May the altar of yajna give us happiness. (7)
शं नः॒ सूर्य॑ उरु॒चक्षा॒ उदे॑तु॒ शं नो॑ भवन्तु प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्रः । शं नः॒ पर्व॑ता ध्रु॒वयो॑ भवन्तु॒ शं नः॒ सिन्ध॑वः॒ शमु॑ स॒न्त्वापः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
फैले हुए तेज वाले सूर्य हमें सुख देने के लिए उदय हों. चारों दिशाएं, स्थिर रहने वाले पर्वत, नदियां और जल हमारा कल्याण करने वाले हों. (८)
EN English Translation
May the sun with spread radiance rise to give us happiness. All four directions, stable mountains, rivers and water should be good for us. (8)
शं नो॒ अदि॑तिर्भवतु व्र॒तेभिः॒ शं नो॑ भवन्तु म॒रुतः॑ स्व॒र्काः । शं नो॒ विष्णुः॒ शमु॑ पू॒षा नो॑ अस्तु॒ शं नो॑ भ॒वित्रं॒ शम्व॑स्तु वा॒युः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवमाता अदिति व्रतों के साथ हमें सुख देने वाली हों. उत्तम स्तुतियों वाले मरुत् हमारा कल्याण करें. विष्णु, पूषा, अंतरिक्ष अथवा जल हमें सुख देने वाले हों. वायु हमारा कल्याण करते हुए चलें. (९)
EN English Translation
May Devmata Aditi give us happiness with fasts. May the deserts with the best praises bless us. May Vishnu, Pusha, Space or Water give us happiness. Let the wind do our well-being. (9)
शं नो॑ दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता त्राय॑माणः॒ शं नो॑ भवन्तू॒षसो॑ विभा॒तीः । शं नः॑ प॒र्जन्यो॑ भवतु प्र॒जाभ्यः॒ शं नः॒ क्षेत्र॑स्य॒ पति॑रस्तु श॒म्भुः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भयों से रक्षा करते हुए सविता देव हमारे सुख के कारण बनें. सुंदर प्रतीत होती हुई उषाएं हमारा कल्याण करें. वृष्टि करने वाले बादल हमारी प्रजाओं अर्थात् पुत्रों और सेवकों को सुख देने वाले हों. क्षेत्र के स्वामी शंभु हमारा कल्याण करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
Protecting from fears, Savita Dev should be the cause of our happiness. May the beautiful ushas benefit us. May the rain clouds give happiness to our subjects i.e. sons and servants. Shambhu, the owner of the area, may we be well-being. (10)
