यच्छ॒क्रा वाच॒मारु॑हन्न॒न्तरि॑क्षं सिषासथः । सं दे॒वा अ॑मद॒न्वृषा॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब स्तुति करने वाले विद्वान् अपनी वाणी का प्रयोग करते हैं, तभी देवता उन पर प्रसन्न होते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Only when the scholars who praise use their speech, the gods are pleased with them. (1)
श॒क्रो वाच॒मधृ॑ष्टा॒योरु॑वाचो॒ अधृ॑ष्णुहि । मंहि॑ष्ठ॒ आ म॑द॒र्दिवि॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे इंद्र शिष्ट जनों के प्रति कठोर वचन न बोलें. हे अतिशय महान इंद्र! तुम अपनी ज्योति से आकाश को पूर्ण करो. (२)
EN English Translation
They should not speak harsh words to the gentlemen. O very great Indra! Complete the sky with your light. (2)
श॒क्रो वाच॒मधृ॑ष्णुहि॒ धाम॑धर्म॒न्वि रा॑जति । विम॑दन्ब॒र्हिरास॑रन् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम कठोर वचन मत बोलो. तुम हमारे यज्ञ में आ कर बिछी हुई कुशाओं पर विराजमान होओ तथा प्रसन्न बनो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Don't speak harsh words. You come to our yajna and sit on the lying kushas and be happy. (3)
तं वो॑ द॒स्ममृ॑ती॒षहं॒ वसो॑र्मन्दा॒नमन्ध॑सः । अ॒भि व॒त्सं न स्वस॑रेषु धे॒नव॒ इन्द्रं॑ गी॒र्भिर्न॑वामहे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! ये इंद्र दुःखों का नाश करने वाले, देखने योग्य एवं सोमरस पी कर प्रसन्न होते हैं. तुम्हारे यज्ञ की सफलता के लिए हम इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. सूर्योदय और सूर्यास्त के समय रंभाती हुई गाएं जिस प्रकार अपने बछड़े के पास जाती हैं, उसी प्रकार स्तुतियां करते हुए हम इंद्र की ओर जाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O hosts! This Indra is the destroyer of sorrows, is worth seeing and happy to drink someras. We praise Indra for the success of your yajna. Just as the rambed cows go to their calf at sunrise and sunset, we go towards Indra while praising. (4)
द्यु॒क्षं सु॒दानुं॒ तवि॑षीभि॒रावृ॑तं गि॒रिं न पु॑रु॒भोज॑सम् । क्षु॒मन्तं॒ वाजं॑ श॒तिनं॑ सह॒स्रिणं॑ म॒क्षू गोम॑न्तमीमहे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दुर्भिक्ष के समय जिस प्रकार सभी जीवधारी कंद, मूल और फल वाले पर्वत की स्तुति करते हैं, उसी प्रकार हम उस की स्तुति करते हैं जो दान करने योग्य, पोषक, गायों से युक्त एवं तेजपूर्ण होता है. (५)
EN English Translation
Just as all living beings praise a mountain with tubers, roots and fruits at the time of famine, we praise one who is charitable, nutritious, full of cows and radiant. (5)
तत्त्वा॑ यामि सु॒वीर्यं॒ तद्ब्रह्म॑ पू॒र्वचि॑त्तये । येना॒ यति॑भ्यो॒ भृग॑वे॒ धने॑ हि॒ते येन॒ प्रस्क॑ण्व॒मावि॑थ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! मैं तुम से बल युक्त अन्न की याचना करता हूं. जिस अन्न रूप धन को प्राप्त कर के भृगु ऋषि ने शांति अनुभव की तथा कण्व ऋषि के पुत्र प्रस्कण्व की रक्षा की, हम उसी धन की याचना करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! I ask you for strong food. We ask for the same wealth that Bhrigu Rishi experienced peace by getting wealth in the form of food and protected Praskanva, the son of Kanva Rishi. (6)
येना॑ समु॒द्रमसृ॑जो म॒हीर॒पस्तदि॑न्द्र॒ वृष्णि॑ ते॒ शवः॑ । स॒द्यः सो अ॑स्य महि॒मा न सं॒नशे॒ यं क्षो॒णीर॑नुचक्र॒दे ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस बल से तुम ने सागरों को भरने वाले जल की रचना की, वह बल हम को मनचाहा फल देने वाला हो. इंद्र की महिमा को शत्रु प्राप्त नहीं कर सकते. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The force with which you created the water that fills the oceans is going to give us the desired fruit. Enemies cannot attain the glory of Indra. (7)
