दि॒वो नु मां बृ॑ह॒तो अ॒न्तरि॑क्षाद॒पां स्तो॒को अ॒भ्यपप्त॒द्रसे॑न । समि॑न्द्रि॒येण॒ पय॑सा॒हम॑ग्ने॒ छन्दो॑भिर्य॒ज्ञैः सु॒कृतां॑ कृ॒तेन॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
द्युलोक से अथवा विशाल मेघ रहित आकाश से जल की बूंद मेरे ऊपर गिरी. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी कृपा से मैं इंद्र देव के चिह्न जल से संयुक्त बनूं. मैं वेदमंत्रों और यज्ञों के माध्यम से पुण्यवान जनों द्वारा किए गए कर्म की सहायता से उत्तम फल प्राप्त करूं. (१)
EN English Translation
A drop of water fell on me from the dark or from the sky without a huge cloud. O agni! By your grace, I should be united with the sign water of Indra Dev. I should get the best results with the help of the deeds done by the virtuous people through Vedamantras and Yagyas. (1)
यदि॑ वृ॒क्षाद॒भ्यप॑प्त॒त्पलं॒ तद्यद्य॒न्तरि॑क्षा॒त्स उ॑ वा॒युरे॒व । यत्रास्पृ॑क्षत्त॒न्वो॒ यच्च॒ वास॑स॒ आपो॑ नुदन्तु॒ निरृ॑तिं परा॒चैः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वृक्ष से पानी की जो बूंद मेरे ऊपर गिरी, वह उस वृक्ष का फल ही है. मेघ रहित आकाश से जो बूंद मेरे ऊपर गिरी, वह वायु भी है. वर्षा की वे बूंदें मेरे शरीर का स्पर्श करती हैं अथवा मेरे वस्त्रों को भिगोती हैं. वे बूंदें पाप देवता निर्त्ऋति का प्रक्षालन करने में समर्थ होने के कारण मेरे पापों को दूर करें. (२)
EN English Translation
The drop of water that fell on me from the tree is the fruit of that tree. The drop that fell on me from the cloudless sky is also air. Those drops of rain touch my body or soak my clothes. May those drops remove my sins by being able to clean the sin god Nirtriti. (2)
अ॒भ्यञ्ज॑नं सुर॒भि सा समृ॑द्धि॒र्हिर॑ण्यं॒ वर्च॒स्तदु॑ पू॒त्रिम॑मे॒व । सर्वा॑ प॒वित्रा॒ वित॒ताध्य॒स्मत्तन्मा ता॑री॒न्निरृ॑ति॒र्मो अरा॑तिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेरे शरीर पर गिरी हुई वर्षा की बूंद सुगंधित तेल और उबटन मुझे पवित्र करने वाले ही हैं. पवित्रता के सभी कहे गए और न कहे गए साधन मेरे ऊपर फैले है. पवित्रता के साधनों से ढके हुए मेरे शरीर को पाप देवता निर्त्रति एवं कोई शत्रु अतिक्रमण न करे. (३)
EN English Translation
The drop of rain falling on my body, fragrant oil and ubtan are going to sanctify me. All the said and unspeaked means of purity are spread over me. My body, covered with the means of purity, should be encroached upon by the sin god Nirtrati and no enemy. (3)
