श॑क॒धूमं॒ नक्ष॑त्राणि॒ यद्राजा॑न॒मकु॑र्वत । भ॑द्रा॒हम॑स्मै॒ प्राय॑च्छन्नि॒दं रा॒ष्ट्रमसा॒दिति॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्राचीन काल में शकधूम नाम के ब्राह्मण को तारों ने चंद्रमा के समान राजा बनाया. मुझ भद्रा ने इस शकधूम ब्राह्मण को प्राचीन काल में कल्याणकारी समय इसलिए दिया था कि उसे नक्षत्र मंडल का स्वामित्व प्राप्त हो. (१)
EN English Translation
In ancient times, a Brahmin named Shakdhum was made a king like the moon by the stars. I, Bhadra, had given this Shakdhum Brahmin a welfare time in ancient times so that he got ownership of nakshatra mandal. (1)
भ॑द्रा॒हं नो॑ म॒ध्यन्दि॑ने भद्रा॒हं सा॒यम॑स्तु नः । भ॑द्रा॒हं नो॒ अह्नां॑ प्रा॒ता रात्री॑ भद्रा॒हम॑स्तु नः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे लिए दोपहर और सायंकाल पुण्यकारक हों. इस के अतिरिक्त प्रातःकाल और पूरी रात्रि भी हमारे लिए शुभ हो. (२)
EN English Translation
May the afternoon and evening be virtuous for us. Apart from this, the morning and the whole night should also be auspicious for us. (2)
अ॑होरा॒त्राभ्यां॒ नक्ष॑त्रेभ्यः सूर्याचन्द्र॒मसा॑भ्याम् । भ॑द्रा॒हम॒स्मभ्यं॑ राज॒ञ्छक॑धूम॒ त्वं कृ॑धि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शकधूम ब्राह्मण तथा हे नक्षत्रों के राजा चंद्रमा! रातदिन, नक्षत्रों, सूर्य और चंद्रमा के पास हमारे लिए पुण्य वाला दिन लाओ. (३)
EN English Translation
O Shakdhum Brahmin and O Moon, the king of constellations! Bring us a day of virtue near the night, the constellations, the sun and the moon. (3)
यो नो॑ भद्रा॒हमक॑रः सा॒यं नक्त॑मथो॒ दिवा॑ । तस्मै॑ ते नक्षत्रराज॒ शक॑धूम॒ सदा॒ नमः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शकधूम ब्राह्मण और हे तारों के स्वामी चंद्रमा! तुम ने जो सायंकाल में, रात में और दिन में हमारा कल्याण किया, उसे तुम्हारे लिए नमस्कार है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Shakadhum Brahmin and O Moon, swami of the stars! Salutations to you to the welfare of you who have done us in the evening, at night and during the day. (4)
