यौ व्या॒घ्रावव॑रूढौ॒ जिघ॑त्सतः पि॒तरं॑ मा॒तरं॑ च । तौ दन्तौ॑ ब्रह्मणस्पते शि॒वौ कृ॑णु जातवेदः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति और हे जातवेद अग्नि! बाघ के समान जो दो दांत ऊपर की पंक्ति में अतिरिक्त रूप से नीचे की ओर मुंह कर के स्थित हैं, वे मातापिता को खाना चाहते हैं. वे दांत मातापिता का कल्याण करने वाले हों. (१)
EN English Translation
O Brahmanaspati and O Jataveda Agni! Like a tiger, two teeth that are located in the top row with an additional downward face, they want to eat the parents. Those teeth should be good for the parents. (1)
व्री॒हिम॑त्तं॒ यव॑मत्त॒मथो॒ माष॒मथो॒ तिल॑म् । ए॒ष वां॑ भा॒गो निहि॑तो रत्न॒धेया॑य दन्तौ॒ मा हिं॑सिष्टं पि॒तरं॑ मा॒तरं॑ च ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पहले निकले हुए, ऊपर वाले दो दांतो! तुम गेहूं, जौ, उरद और तिल खाओ. तुम्हारे रमणीय फल के लिए ही गेहूं, जौ आदि का भाग रखा गया है. तुम माता और पिता की हिंसा मत करो. (२)
EN English Translation
O first protruding, the upper two teeth! You eat wheat, barley, urad and sesame. Part of wheat, barley etc. has been kept only for your delightful fruit. Don't do the violence of mother and father. (2)
उप॑हूतौ स॒युजौ॑ स्यो॒नौ दन्तौ॑ सुम॒ङ्गलौ॑ । अ॒न्यत्र॑ वां घो॒रं त॒न्वः परै॑तु दन्तौ॒ मा हिं॑सिष्टं पि॒तरं॑ मा॒तरं॑ च ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दोनों ऊपर वाले दांत देव के द्वारा अनुमति प्राप्त, मित्र बने हुए, सुखकारक एवं शोभन हों. हे दोनों दांतो! नरमादा का संकेत करने वाला चिह्न बनाओ. वह चिल्ल पुत्र, पौत्र आदि के रूप में समृद्धि करने वाला हो. (३)
EN English Translation
Both the upper teeth should be allowed by God, friendly, pleasant and beautiful. Oh my two teeth! Make an icon indicating Narmada. He should prosper in the form of chilla son, grandson etc. (3)
