क्री॒ळं वः॒ शर्धो॒ मारु॑तमन॒र्वाणं॑ रथे॒शुभ॑म् । कण्वा॑ अ॒भि प्र गा॑यत ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कण्व गोत्रोत्पन्न ऋषियो! विहरणशील एवं शन्रुरहित मरुतं को लक्ष्य करके स्तुति करो. वे अपने रथ पर सुशोभित होते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Kanva Gotraotpan Rishis! Aim and praise the desolate and unsavory maruts. They are adorned on their chariots. (1)
ये पृष॑तीभिरृ॒ष्टिभिः॑ सा॒कं वाशी॑भिर॒ञ्जिभिः॑ । अजा॑यन्त॒ स्वभा॑नवः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बिंदुयुक्त हरिणियां मरुतों का वाहन हैं. उन्होंने इन वाहनों के साथ प्रकाशवान् होकर घोर गर्जन, आयुधसमूह तथा अलंकारों सहित जलग्रहण किया. (२)
EN English Translation
Dotted deer are the vehicle of maruts. They carried out light-air with these vehicles and carried out a massive roar, ordnance and catchments with ornaments. (2)
इ॒हेव॑ शृण्व एषां॒ कशा॒ हस्ते॑षु॒ यद्वदा॑न् । नि याम॑ञ्चि॒त्रमृ॑ञ्जते ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुतों के हाथ में रहने वाले चाबुक का शब्द हम सुन रहे हैं. चाबुक का वह शब्द युद्ध में हमारी शक्ति बढ़ाता है. (३)
EN English Translation
We are hearing the word of the whip in the hands of the maruts. That word of whip increases our power in war. (3)
प्र वः॒ शर्धा॑य॒ घृष्व॑ये त्वे॒षद्यु॑म्नाय शु॒ष्मिणे॑ । दे॒वत्तं॒ ब्रह्म॑ गायत ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! तुम्हारे बल का समर्थन करने वाले, शत्रु दमनकारी, उज्ज्वलकीर्तिसंपन्न एवं शक्तिशाली मरुतों की स्तुति हवि ग्रहण के उद्देश्य से करो. (४)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Praise the oppressors of your strength, the enemies who support your strength, the bright-tempered and the mighty maruts for the purpose of receiving it. (4)
प्र शं॑सा॒ गोष्वघ्न्यं॑ क्री॒ळं यच्छर्धो॒ मारु॑तम् । जम्भे॒ रस॑स्य वावृधे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! दूध देने वाली गायों के बीच स्थित मरुद्गाणों के अविनाशी, विहारशील एवं सहन करने योग्य तेज की प्रशंसा करो. वह तेज गाय का दूध पीने के कारण बढ़ा है. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Praise the indestructible, incorrigible and bearable brightness of the marudganas located among the milking cows. He grew up due to drinking fast cow's milk. (5)
को वो॒ वर्षि॑ष्ठ॒ आ न॑रो दि॒वश्च॒ ग्मश्च॑ धूतयः । यत्सी॒मन्तं॒ न धू॑नु॒थ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धरती और आकाश को कंपित करने वाले मरुद्गणो! तुमसे कौन बड़ा है? तुम जैसे पेड़ की चोटी को कंपित कर देते हो, उसी प्रकार सब दिशाओं को कंपा दो. (६)
EN English Translation
O you who make the earth and the sky tremble! Who is bigger than you? Just as you vibrate the top of the tree, shake all directions in the same way. (6)
नि वो॒ यामा॑य॒ मानु॑षो द॒ध्र उ॒ग्राय॑ म॒न्यवे॑ । जिही॑त॒ पर्व॑तो गि॒रिः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुद्गणो! तुम्हारे चलने से घर गिर पड़ेगा, इस भय से लोगों ने घरों में मजबूत खंभे गाड़े हैं. तुम्हारी चाल उग्र एवं झकझोरने वाली है. तुम्हारी तेज चाल से चोटियों वाले अनेक पर्वत हिल जाते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O deserters! Your walk will make the house collapse, fearing this, people have buried strong pillars in the houses. Your move is furious and shocking. Many of the peaks are shaken by your speed. (7)
येषा॒मज्मे॑षु पृथि॒वी जु॑जु॒र्वाँ इ॑व वि॒श्पतिः॑ । भि॒या यामे॑षु॒ रेज॑ते ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुद्गणो! तुम्हारी चाल सभी पदार्थो को दूर फेंक देती है. वृद्ध एवं दुर्बल राजा शत्रु के भय से जिस प्रकार कांपता है, उसी प्रकार तुम्हारे चलने से धरती कांपती है. (८)
EN English Translation
O deserters! Your move throws away all the substance. Just as the old and weak king trembles with the fear of the enemy, so the earth trembles by your walking. (8)
स्थि॒रं हि जान॑मेषां॒ वयो॑ मा॒तुर्निरे॑तवे । यत्सी॒मनु॑ द्वि॒ता शवः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुतों की उत्पत्ति का स्थान आकाश स्थिर रहता है. आकाश मरुतों की माता के समान है. आकाश में होकर पक्षी निकल सकते हैं. मरुतों का बल धरती और आकाश को पृथकू करता है. (९)
EN English Translation
The place of origin of the maruts remains the sky constant. The sky is like the mother of the maruts. Birds can come out in the sky. The force of the maruts separates the earth and the sky. (9)
उदु॒ त्ये सू॒नवो॒ गिरः॒ काष्ठा॒ अज्मे॑ष्वत्नत । वा॒श्रा अ॑भि॒ज्ञु यात॑वे ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शब्दों के जन्मदाता मरुद्गण चलते समय जल का विस्तार करते हैं और रंभाती हुई गायों को घुटने तक गहरे जल में प्रवेश करने को प्रेरित करते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
The birth-givers of the words extend the water while walking and motivate the ramming cows to enter deep water up to the knee. (10)
त्यं चि॑द्घा दी॒र्घं पृ॒थुं मि॒हो नपा॑त॒ममृ॑ध्रम् । प्र च्या॑वयन्ति॒ याम॑भिः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुद्गण अपनी तेज चाल से विस्तृत, मोटे, जल न बरसाने वाले, अपराजेय एवं प्रसिद्ध बादलों को भी कंपित कर देते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The deserts, with their fast speed, also vibrate wide, thick, non-raining, unbeatable and famous clouds. (11)
मरु॑तो॒ यद्ध॑ वो॒ बलं॒ जना॑ँ अचुच्यवीतन । गि॒रीँर॑चुच्यवीतन ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम शक्तिशाली हो, इसलिए समस्त प्राणियों को अपने-अपने काम में लगाते हो तथा मेघों को भी प्रेरित करते हो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You are powerful, so you put all beings into your own work and also inspire the clouds. (12)
यद्ध॒ यान्ति॑ म॒रुतः॒ सं ह॑ ब्रुव॒तेऽध्व॒न्ना । शृ॒णोति॒ कश्चि॑देषाम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुद्गण जब चलते हैं तो मार्ग में सब ओर ध्वनि अवश्य करते हैं. उस ध्वनि को चाहे जो सुन सकता है. (१३)
EN English Translation
When the deserts walk, they make a sound all the way along the way. No matter who can hear that sound. (13)
प्र या॑त॒ शीभ॑मा॒शुभिः॒ सन्ति॒ कण्वे॑षु वो॒ दुवः॑ । तत्रो॒ षु मा॑दयाध्वै ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुदगणो! अपने तीव्रगामी वाहन के द्वारा यज्ञभूमि में शीघ्र आओ. बुद्धिमान् यजमानों के द्वारा की गई सेवा से उनके प्रति तृप्त बनो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O the deserters! Come quickly to the yagnabhoomi by your speeding vehicle. Be satisfied with the service done by the wise. (14)
अस्ति॒ हि ष्मा॒ मदा॑य वः॒ स्मसि॑ ष्मा व॒यमे॑षाम् । विश्वं॑ चि॒दायु॑र्जी॒वसे॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुदगणो! हमारे द्वारा दिया हुआ हवि तुम्हें तृप्त करने के लिए है. हम पूर्ण आयु जीने के लिए तुम्हारे सेवक बने हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
O the deserters! The havi given by us is to satisfy you. We have become your servants to live our full life. (15)
