इ॒मं स्तोम॒मर्ह॑ते जा॒तवे॑दसे॒ रथ॑मिव॒ सं म॑हेमा मनी॒षया॑ । भ॒द्रा हि नः॒ प्रम॑तिरस्य सं॒सद्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार बढ़ई रथ का निर्माण करता है, उसी प्रकार हम पूज्य एवं सब प्राणियों को जानने वाले अग्ने के प्रति बुद्धि निर्मित यह स्तुति समर्पित करते हैं. इस अग्नि की सेवा से हमारी बुद्धि कल्याणी बनती है. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त कर लेने पर हम हिंसा को प्राप्त न हों. (१)
EN English Translation
Just as the carpenter builds the chariot, so we dedicate this praise of the godly and the one who knows all beings in a wise manner. By the service of this agni, our intellect becomes welfare. O agni! If we have gained your friendship, we will not receive violence. (1)
यस्मै॒ त्वमा॒यज॑से॒ स सा॑धत्यन॒र्वा क्षे॑ति॒ दध॑ते सु॒वीर्य॑म् । स तू॑ताव॒ नैन॑मश्नोत्यंह॒तिरग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! तुम जिस यजमान के निमित्त यज्ञ करते हो, वह अभीष्ट प्राप्त कर लेता है, शत्रुओं की पीड़ा से रहित होकर निवास करता है, उत्तम शक्ति धारण करता है एवं वृद्धि पाता है. उसे कभी दरिद्रता नहीं मिलती. हम तुम्हारी मित्रता को पाकर किसी के द्वारा सताए न जावें. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! The host for whom you perform the yajna attains the desired, dwells without the pain of the enemies, possesses the best power and attains growth. He never gets poverty. Let us not be persecuted by anyone for your friendship. (2)
श॒केम॑ त्वा स॒मिधं॑ सा॒धया॒ धिय॒स्त्वे दे॒वा ह॒विर॑द॒न्त्याहु॑तम् । त्वमा॑दि॒त्याँ आ व॑ह॒ तान्ह्यु१॒॑श्मस्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम तुम्हें भली प्रकार ज्वलित कर सकें एवं तुम हमारे यज्ञों को पूरा करो, क्योंकि ऋत्विजों द्वारा तुम में डाला गया हव्य देवगण भक्षण करते हैं. तुम अदितिपुत्रों अर्थात् देवों को यहां ले आओ, वयोंकि हम उनकी कामना करते हैं. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त कर लेने पर कोई हमारी हिंसा न करे. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! May We be able to light you well and you may fulfill our sacrifices, for the gods eat the things that have been poured into you by the ritvites. You bring the sons of Aditi, that is, the gods, here, because we wish them. Let no one violence us when you have received your friendship. (3)
भरा॑मे॒ध्मं कृ॒णवा॑मा ह॒वींषि॑ ते चि॒तय॑न्तः॒ पर्व॑णापर्वणा व॒यम् । जी॒वात॑वे प्रत॒रं सा॑धया॒ धियोऽग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम तुम्हारे यज्ञ के लिए ईधन एकत्र करते हैं एवं प्रति पर्व पर दर्शपौर्णमास यज्ञ करते हुए तुम्हें ज्ञान कराकर हव्य देते हैं. तुम हमारे जीवनकाल को बढ़ाने के लिए यज्ञ पूर्ण कराओ. तुम हमारे मित्र बन गए हो, अब कोई हमारी हिंसा न करे. (४)
EN English Translation
O agni! We collect fuel for your yajna and give you knowledge by doing darsapoornamas yajna on every festival. You complete the yajna to extend our lifetime. You have become our friend, let no one violence us anymore. (4)
वि॒शां गो॒पा अ॑स्य चरन्ति ज॒न्तवो॑ द्वि॒पच्च॒ यदु॒त चतु॑ष्पद॒क्तुभिः॑ । चि॒त्रः प्र॑के॒त उ॒षसो॑ म॒हाँ अ॒स्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इसकी किरणें समस्त प्राणियों की रक्षा करती हुई विचरण करती हैं. दो पैरों और चार पैरों वाले जंतु इसकी किरणों से युक्त हो जाते हैं. हे अग्नि, तुम विचित्र दीप्तिसंपन्न, सबका ज्ञान कराने वाले एवं उषा से भी महान् हो. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (५)
EN English Translation
Its rays move around protecting all beings. The two-legged and four-legged animals become equipped with its rays. O agni, you are a strange, brilliant, enlightened all, and greater than Usha. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (5)
त्वम॑ध्व॒र्युरु॒त होता॑सि पू॒र्व्यः प्र॑शा॒स्ता पोता॑ ज॒नुषा॑ पु॒रोहि॑तः । विश्वा॑ वि॒द्वाँ आर्त्वि॑ज्या धीर पुष्य॒स्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञों को देवों के प्रति पहुंचाने वाले, अध्वर्यु, होता, प्रशास्ता, यज्ञ के शोधक अर्थात् पोता एवं जन्म से ही पुरोहित हो. तुम ऋत्विज् के समस्त कर्मो को जानते हो, इसलिए हमारा यज्ञ पूरा करो. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the one who delivers the yajnas to the gods, the adhwaryu, the hota, the administrator, the seeker of the yajna, that is, the grandson and the priest from birth. You know all the deeds of Ritvij, so complete our yajna. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (6)
यो वि॒श्वतः॑ सु॒प्रती॑कः स॒दृङ्ङसि॑ दू॒रे चि॒त्सन्त॒ळिदि॒वाति॑ रोचसे । रात्र्या॑श्चि॒दन्धो॒ अति॑ देव पश्य॒स्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम शोभन-अंग वाले होते हुए भी सबके समान हो एवं दूर रहकर भी समीप दिखाई देते हो. हे देव! तुम रात के अंधकार का नाश करके चमकते हो. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are like everyone, even though you are a behoes- ing and you appear close to you even while you are far away. Oh, God! You shine by destroying the darkness of the night. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (7)
पूर्वो॑ देवा भवतु सुन्व॒तो रथो॒ऽस्माकं॒ शंसो॑ अ॒भ्य॑स्तु दू॒ढ्यः॑ । तदा जा॑नीतो॒त पु॑ष्यता॒ वचोऽग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! सोम निचोड़ने वाले यजमान का रथ अन्य यजमानों के रथ से आगे हो. हमारा पाप हमारे शत्रुओं को बाधा पहुंचावे. तुम हमारी स्तुति पर ध्यान दो और उसके अनुकूल चलकर हमें पुष्ट करो. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त कर लेने पर हमारी कोई हिंसा न कर सके. (८)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! The chariot of the host who squeezes the som should be ahead of the chariot of other hosts. May our sin hinder our enemies. Pay attention to Our praise and strengthen us by going by its favor. O agni! No one can do us any violence if we have received your friendship. (8)
व॒धैर्दुः॒शंसा॒ँ अप॑ दू॒ढ्यो॑ जहि दू॒रे वा॒ ये अन्ति॑ वा॒ के चि॑द॒त्रिणः॑ । अथा॑ य॒ज्ञाय॑ गृण॒ते सु॒गं कृ॒ध्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम हननसाधन आयुधों से अपवाद के पात्र एवं दुर्बुद्धि लोगों का वध करो. जो श्रु हमारे समीप या दूर हैं, उनका नाश करो. इस प्रकार तुम अपनी स्तुति करने वाले यजमान का मार्ग शोभन बनाओ. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! You kill the evil-minded and the unwise people who are exceptional with the weapons of condonation. Destroy those who are near or far away from us. Thus make the way of the host praising you to adorn. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (9)
यदयु॑क्था अरु॒षा रोहि॑ता॒ रथे॒ वात॑जूता वृष॒भस्ये॑व ते॒ रवः॑ । आदि॑न्वसि व॒निनो॑ धू॒मके॑तु॒नाग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम तेजस्वी, लाल रंग वाले एवं वायु वेग वाले दोनों घोड़ों को रथ में जोतते समय बैल के समान शब्द करते हो एवं अपने ध्वज रूपी धूम से वन को घेर लेते हो. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You say the same words as a bull while ploughing both the bright, red and wind-velocity horses in the chariot and surround the forest with the smoke of your flag. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (10)
अध॑ स्व॒नादु॒त बि॑भ्युः पत॒त्रिणो॑ द्र॒प्सा यत्ते॑ यव॒सादो॒ व्यस्थि॑रन् । सु॒गं तत्ते॑ ताव॒केभ्यो॒ रथे॒भ्योऽग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! वन प्रदेश को जलाने वाला तुम्हारा शब्द सुनकर पक्षी डर जाते हैं. जब तुम्हारी ज्वालाएं वन में वर्तमान तिनकों को भक्षण करके सभी ओर फैलती हैं, तब तुम्हारे लिए एवं तुम्हारे रथ के लिए समस्त अरण्य सुगम बन जाता है. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! The birds get scared when they hear your words that burn the forest region. When your flames spread all over the forest by devouring the present straws, the whole wilderness becomes easier for you and for your chariot. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (11)
अ॒यं मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ धाय॑सेऽवया॒तां म॒रुतां॒ हेळो॒ अद्भु॑तः । मृ॒ळा सु नो॒ भूत्वे॑षां॒ मनः॒ पुन॒रग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि के स्तोता को मित्र और वरुण धारण करें. अंतरिक्ष में वर्तमान मरुतों का क्रोध महान् होता है. हे अग्नि! हमारी रक्षा करो. इन मरुतों का मन हमारे प्रति प्रसन्न हो. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (१२)
EN English Translation
Wear the hymn of agni as a friend and varuna. The anger of the present-day maruts in space is great. O agni! Protect us. The minds of these maruts be pleased with us. O agni! Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (12)
दे॒वो दे॒वाना॑मसि मि॒त्रो अद्भु॑तो॒ वसु॒र्वसू॑नामसि॒ चारु॑रध्व॒रे । शर्म॑न्स्याम॒ तव॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्त॒मेऽग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे तेजस्वी अग्नि! तुम सब देवों के परम मित्र, सुंदर एवं यज्ञों की समस्त संपत्तियों के निवास हो. हम तुम्हारे अति विस्तृत यज्ञगृह में वर्तमान हों. तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (१३)
EN English Translation
O glorious agni! You are the best friend of all the gods, the beautiful and the abode of all the properties of the yagnas. Let us be present in your most elaborate sacrificial house. Let us not be disenchanted by anyone by gaining your friendship. (13)
तत्ते॑ भ॒द्रं यत्समि॑द्धः॒ स्वे दमे॒ सोमा॑हुतो॒ जर॑से मृळ॒यत्त॑मः । दधा॑सि॒ रत्नं॒ द्रवि॑णं च दा॒शुषेऽग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जिस समय तुम अपने स्थान पर प्रज्वलित एवं सोम द्वारा आहूत होकर ऋत्विजों की स्तुति का विषय बनते हो, उस समय अत्यंत भद्र प्राप्त करते हो. तुम हमारे लिए परम सुखकारक एवं यजमान के लिए रमणीय यज्ञफल एवं धन देने वाले बनो, तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त करके हम किसी के द्वारा हिंसित न हों. (१४)
EN English Translation
O agni! At the time when you are ignited in your place and invoked by The Som and become the subject of praise of the Ritvijas, at that time you receive the utmost bhadra. Be the most pleasant to us and the giver of delightful sacrifices and wealth for the host, and we will not be disenchanted by anyone by getting your friendship. (14)
यस्मै॒ त्वं सु॑द्रविणो॒ ददा॑शोऽनागा॒स्त्वम॑दिते स॒र्वता॑ता । यं भ॒द्रेण॒ शव॑सा चो॒दया॑सि प्र॒जाव॑ता॒ राध॑सा॒ ते स्या॑म ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभनधनसंपन्न एवं अखंडनीय अग्नि! समस्त यज्ञों में वर्तमान जिस यजमान को तुम पाप से रहित करके कल्याणकारी बल से युक्त करते हो, वह समृद्ध होता है. तुम्हारी स्तुति करने वाले हम पुत्र-पौत्रादि वाले धन से युक्त हों. (१५)
EN English Translation
O glorious and inimitable agni! In all the yagnas, the present host which you make free from sin and equipped with the force of welfare, prospers. Let us, who praise you, have the wealth of the sons and grandsons. (15)
स त्वम॑ग्ने सौभग॒त्वस्य॑ वि॒द्वान॒स्माक॒मायुः॒ प्र ति॑रे॒ह दे॑व । तन्नो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णो मामहन्ता॒मदि॑तिः॒ सिन्धुः॑ पृथि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम सौभाग्य को जानते हुए इस यज्ञकर्म में हमारी आयुवृद्धि करो. मित्र, वरुण, अदिति, सिंधु, पृथ्वी एवं आकाश हमारी उस आयु की रक्षा करें. (१६)
EN English Translation
O agni! Knowing the good fortune, increase our life in this yajnakarma. Friends, Varuna, Aditi, Sindhu, Prithvi and Akash protect us that age. (16)
