तदिदा॑स॒ भुव॑नेषु॒ ज्येष्ठं॒ यतो॑ ज॒ज्ञ उ॒ग्रस्त्वे॒षनृ॑म्णः । स॒द्यो ज॑ज्ञा॒नो नि रि॑णाति॒ शत्रू॒ननु॒ यं विश्वे॒ मद॒न्त्यूमाः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस भुवन में वही बड़ा था, जिससे उग्र एवं प्रदीप्त बल वाले सूर्यरूपी इंद्र उत्पन्न हुए हैं. जो इंद्र जन्म के साथ ही शत्रुविनाश करने लगे, सभी देवता उनका स्वागत करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
In this bhuvana, he was the same elder, from which the sun-like Indra, with fierce and illuminated force, has been born. Those who began to annihilate the enemies as soon as Indra was born, all the gods welcome them. (1)
वा॒वृ॒धा॒नः शव॑सा॒ भूर्यो॑जाः॒ शत्रु॑र्दा॒साय॑ भि॒यसं॑ दधाति । अव्य॑नच्च व्य॒नच्च॒ सस्नि॒ सं ते॑ नवन्त॒ प्रभृ॑ता॒ मदे॑षु ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बल से बढ़ते हुए, अधिक शक्तिशाली एवं शन्रुहंता इंद्र दासों के मन में अधिक भय उत्पन्न करते हैं. प्राणयुक्त एवं प्राणहीन पदार्थ इंद्र के द्वारा संशोधित होते हैं. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी प्रसन्नता उत्पन्न होने पर सभी पोषित प्राणी स्तुति हेतु एकत्र होते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Growing by force, the more powerful and the shanruhanta creates more fear in the minds of indra dasas. The living and lifeless substances are modified by Indra. O Indra! When your happiness arises, all the nourished beings gather together for praise. (2)
त्वे क्रतु॒मपि॑ वृञ्जन्ति॒ विश्वे॒ द्विर्यदे॒ते त्रिर्भव॒न्त्यूमाः॑ । स्वा॒दोः स्वादी॑यः स्वा॒दुना॑ सृजा॒ सम॒दः सु मधु॒ मधु॑ना॒भि यो॑धीः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सभी यजमान अपना यज्ञ तुम पर समाप्त करते हैं. तुम्हें तृप्त करने वाले लोग पत्नी के रूप में दोगुने एवं संतान के रूप में तिगुने बनते हैं. तुम घर, धन आदि से, प्रिय पत्नी से उत्पन्न परम प्रिय संतान से हमें मिलाओ. हमारी प्रिय संतान को उससे भी अधिक नातियों आदि से क्रीडित करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let all hosts end their yajna on you. Those who satisfy you are twice as much as a wife and three times as a child. You meet us with the most beloved offspring born of the beloved wife, by house, wealth, etc. Make our beloved child cradle with even more grandchildren, etc. (3)
इति॑ चि॒द्धि त्वा॒ धना॒ जय॑न्तं॒ मदे॑मदे अनु॒मद॑न्ति॒ विप्राः॑ । ओजी॑यो धृष्णो स्थि॒रमा त॑नुष्व॒ मा त्वा॑ दभन्यातु॒धाना॑ दु॒रेवाः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम जब-जब सोमपान के बाद शत्रु के धनों को जीतकर प्रसन्न होते हो, तब-तब तुम्हारे बाद मेधावी जल हर्षित होते हैं. हे शत्रुनाशक इंद्र! हमें अधिक शक्ति वाला धन दो, दुर्गतियां एवं राक्षस तुम्हें बाधा न पहुंचावें. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Whenever you are happy to win the enemy's wealth after Somapan, then the bright waters are rejoicing after you. O enemies Indra! Give us more powerful money, let not the demons and demons hinder you. (4)
त्वया॑ व॒यं शा॑शद्महे॒ रणे॑षु प्र॒पश्य॑न्तो यु॒धेन्या॑नि॒ भूरि॑ । चो॒दया॑मि त॒ आयु॑धा॒ वचो॑भिः॒ सं ते॑ शिशामि॒ ब्रह्म॑णा॒ वयां॑सि ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे द्वारा अनुगृहीत होकर हम शत्रुओं का खूब नाश करें एवं युद्धों में युद्ध के योग्य बहुत से आयुधों को जानते हुए तुम्हारे वज्र आदि को शत्रुओं की ओर प्रेरित करें. हम तुम्हारे लिए मंत्रोच्चारण के साथ-साथ अन्न का संस्कार करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! By being followed by you, let us annihilate the enemies greatly and inspire your thunderbolts, etc., towards the enemies, knowing the many weapons worthy of war in wars. We perform the rites of food along with chanting mantras for you. (5)
स्तु॒षेय्यं॑ पुरु॒वर्प॑स॒मृभ्व॑मि॒नत॑ममा॒प्त्यमा॒प्त्याना॑म् । आ द॑र्षते॒ शव॑सा स॒प्त दानू॒न्प्र सा॑क्षते प्रति॒माना॑नि॒ भूरि॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र अपनी शक्ति से वृत्र आदि सात राक्षसों को मारते हैं एवं जो राक्षसों के बहुत से स्थानों को प्राप्त करते हैं. हम उन्हीं स्तुतियोग्य अनेक रूप वाले दीप्तिशाली, स्वामी एवं परम विश्वसनीय इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Those who kill the seven demons of Indra with their power, such as Vrithra, etc., and who get many places of the demons. We praise the bright, master and the most reliable Indra of the same praiseworthy many forms. (6)
नि तद्द॑धि॒षेऽव॑रं॒ परं॑ च॒ यस्मि॒न्नावि॒थाव॑सा दुरो॒णे । आ मा॒तरा॑ स्थापयसे जिग॒त्नू अत॑ इनोषि॒ कर्व॑रा पु॒रूणि॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यजमान के जिस घर में तुम हव्यरूप अन्न से तृप्त होते हो, उस में सांसारिक एवं दिव्य धन स्थापित करते हो. तुम सबके निर्माणकर्ता द्यावा-पृथिवी को गतिशील रखते हो, इसलिए अनेक लौकिक व वैदिक कर्मो को प्राप्त करते हो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In the house of the host in which you are satisfied with the food, you establish worldly and divine wealth in it. You keep the creator of all of you, The Diva-Prithvi, moving, so you get many cosmic and Vedic deeds. (7)
इ॒मा ब्रह्म॑ बृ॒हद्दि॑वो विव॒क्तीन्द्रा॑य शू॒षम॑ग्रि॒यः स्व॒र्षाः । म॒हो गो॒त्रस्य॑ क्षयति स्व॒राजो॒ दुर॑श्च॒ विश्वा॑ अवृणो॒दप॒ स्वाः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहद्दिव नामक ऋषि सुखपूर्वक इंद्र के लिए इन मंत्रों को बोलते हैं. ऋषियों में प्रमुख एवं स्वर्ग प्राप्त कराने वाले इंद्र महान् एवं स्वयंप्रकाशित पर्वतों को अपने बल से हराते हैं तथा बल असुर द्वारा बंद सभी द्वार खोलते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The sage named Brihaddiva happily speaks these mantras for Indra. Indra, who is the chief among the sages and attains heaven, defeats the great and self-lit mountains with his own strength and opens all the doors closed by the force asura. (8)
ए॒वा म॒हान्बृ॒हद्दि॑वो॒ अथ॒र्वावो॑च॒त्स्वां त॒न्व१॒॑मिन्द्र॑मे॒व । स्वसा॑रो मात॒रिभ्व॑रीररि॒प्रा हि॒न्वन्ति॑ च॒ शव॑सा व॒र्धय॑न्ति च ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अधिक गुणों वाले, अथर्वा के पुत्र बृहद्दिव ने अपनी विशाल स्तुति केवल इंद्र के प्रति ही निवेदित की है. पापरहित नदियां यज्ञां का साधन बनकर इंद्र को प्रसन्न करती हैं तथा अपनी शक्ति से उन्हें बढ़ाती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Brihaddiva, the son of Atharva, who has more qualities, has only offered his immense praise to Indra. Sinless rivers please Indra by becoming a means of yajna and increase them with their power. (9)
