अ॒यं स यस्य॒ शर्म॒न्नवो॑भिर॒ग्नेरेध॑ते जरि॒ताभिष्टौ॑ । ज्येष्ठे॑भि॒र्यो भा॒नुभि॑रृषू॒णां प॒र्येति॒ परि॑वीतो वि॒भावा॑ ॥ (१)

ये वे ही अग्नि हैं, जिनकी रक्षा पाकर यज्ञ के समय स्तोता अपने घर में बढ़ता है. दीप्तिशाली अग्नि सूर्यकिरणों के प्रशंसनीय तेजों से युक्त होकर सब जगह जाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
These are the agnis that the stota grows in his house at the time of yajna. The radiant agnis go everywhere with the admirable radiances of the sun rays. (1)
यो भा॒नुभि॑र्वि॒भावा॑ वि॒भात्य॒ग्निर्दे॒वेभि॑रृ॒तावाज॑स्रः । आ यो वि॒वाय॑ स॒ख्या सखि॒भ्योऽप॑रिह्वृतो॒ अत्यो॒ न सप्तिः॑ ॥ (२)

सत्ययुक्त, अपराजित एवं दीप्तिशाली अग्नि देवों के तेज से अनेक प्रकार से प्रकाशित होते हैं. अग्नि बिना थके हुए अपने मित्र यजमानों के पास उनके काम करने के लिए इस प्रकार जाते हैं, जिस प्रकार घोड़ा लगातार चलता रहता है. (२)
EN English Translation
The true, undefeated and radiant agnis are illuminated in many ways by the brightness of the gods. Without getting tired, the agni goes to his friend hosts to do their work in such a way that the horse is constantly moving. (2)
ईशे॒ यो विश्व॑स्या दे॒ववी॑ते॒रीशे॑ वि॒श्वायु॑रु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ । आ यस्मि॑न्म॒ना ह॒वींष्य॒ग्नावरि॑ष्टरथः स्क॒भ्नाति॑ शू॒षैः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अग्नि सभी देवयज्ञों के स्वामी हैं एवं सर्वत्र गतिशील हैं, वे अग्नि प्रातःकाल यजमानों के यज्ञों के भी प्रभु हैं. यजमान अग्नि में उनका मनचाहा हवि डालते हैं, इसलिए यजमानों के रथ शत्रुओं द्वारा रोके नहीं जाते. (३)
EN English Translation
The agni which is the lord of all the gods and is moving everywhere, is also the lord of the yagnas of the hosts in the morning. Hosts put their desired havi in the agni, so the chariots of the hosts are not stopped by the enemies. (3)
शू॒षेभि॑र्वृ॒धो जु॑षा॒णो अ॒र्कैर्दे॒वाँ अच्छा॑ रघु॒पत्वा॑ जिगाति । म॒न्द्रो होता॒ स जु॒ह्वा॒३॒॑ यजि॑ष्ठः॒ सम्मि॑श्लो अ॒ग्निरा जि॑घर्ति दे॒वान् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हव्यों से बड़े हुए स्तोत्रों से सेवित अग्नि इंद्रादि देवों से मिलने के लिए तेज चलते हुए जाते हैं. स्तुतियोग्य देवों को बुलाने वाले, यज्ञपात्रों में उत्तम एवं देवों से युक्त अग्नि देवों के प्रति हवि ले जाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The agni indradi, served with hymns grown up with hugs, goes briskly to meet the gods. Those who call the praiseworthy gods take the best in the sacrificial pots and the agni containing the gods to the gods. (4)
तमु॒स्रामिन्द्रं॒ न रेज॑मानम॒ग्निं गी॒र्भिर्नमो॑भि॒रा कृ॑णुध्वम् । आ यं विप्रा॑सो म॒तिभि॑र्गृ॒णन्ति॑ जा॒तवे॑दसं जु॒ह्वं॑ स॒हाना॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! भोगों के देने वाले व ज्वाला के रूप में कांपते हुए अग्नि को इंद्र के समान स्तुतियों एवं हव्यों से हमारे अभिमुख करो. मेधावी स्तोता शत्रुसेनाओं को हराने वाले, देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं जातवेद अग्नि की आदरपूर्वक स्तुति करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! As the giver of pleasures and the trembling as a flame, make the agni appear to us to be attracted to the eulogies and sayings like Indra. The meritorious stotas respectfully praise the enemies, those who defeat the enemy armies, those who call the gods and the Jatveda Agni. (5)
सं यस्मि॒न्विश्वा॒ वसू॑नि ज॒ग्मुर्वाजे॒ नाश्वाः॒ सप्ती॑वन्त॒ एवैः॑ । अ॒स्मे ऊ॒तीरिन्द्र॑वाततमा अर्वाची॒ना अ॑ग्न॒ आ कृ॑णुष्व ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! शीघ्रगामी अश्व जिस प्रकार संग्राम में एकत्र होते हैं, उसी प्रकार सभी संपत्तियां तुम में मिलती हैं. हे अग्नि! तुम इंद्र के रक्षासाधनों को हमारे अभिमुख करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! Just as the early horses gather in the battle, so all the possessions are found in you. O agni! You direct us to indra's defense tools. (6)
अधा॒ ह्य॑ग्ने म॒ह्ना नि॒षद्या॑ स॒द्यो ज॑ज्ञा॒नो हव्यो॑ ब॒भूथ॑ । तं ते॑ दे॒वासो॒ अनु॒ केत॑माय॒न्नधा॑वर्धन्त प्रथ॒मास॒ ऊमाः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम महत्त्व से प्रज्वलित होते हुए यज्ञशाला में बैठकर उसी समय आहुति डालने योग्य हुए थे, इसलिए हव्यदाता ऋत्विज् और यजमान तुम्हारी इस प्रकार की पहचान का अनुगमन करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! You were able to sit in the yajnashala, ignited with significance, and at the same time, to offer prayers, so the havyadata ritvijs and the host follow your identity. (7)
