य॒ज्ञस्य॑ वो र॒थ्यं॑ वि॒श्पतिं॑ वि॒शां होता॑रम॒क्तोरति॑थिं वि॒भाव॑सुम् । शोच॒ञ्छुष्का॑सु॒ हरि॑णीषु॒ जर्भु॑र॒द्वृषा॑ के॒तुर्य॑ज॒तो द्याम॑शायत ॥ (१)

हे देवो! तुम यज्ञ के नेता, मानव प्रजाओं के पालक, देवों का आह्वान करने वाले, रात के अतिथि एवं विविध दीप्ति वाले अग्नि की सेवा करो. सूखी लकड़ियों को जलाने एवं हरी लकड़ियों का भक्षण करने वाले अभिलाषापूरक यज्ञ के ज्ञापक एवं यजनीय अन्ने स्वर्ग में सोते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! You serve the leader of the yagna, the guardian of the human subjects, the one who invokes the gods, the guests of the night and the agni of various radiants. The knowers and yajanyas of the abhilashapurak yajna, who burn dry wood and eat green wood, sleep in heaven. (1)
इ॒मम॑ञ्ज॒स्पामु॒भये॑ अकृण्वत ध॒र्माण॑म॒ग्निं वि॒दथ॑स्य॒ साध॑नम् । अ॒क्तुं न य॒ह्वमु॒षसः॑ पु॒रोहि॑तं॒ तनू॒नपा॑तमरु॒षस्य॑ निंसते ॥ (२)

देव और मानव दोनों ने शक्ति द्वारा रक्षण करने वाले व सबके धारक अग्ने को यज्ञ का साधन बनाया. वायु के पुत्र महान् और पुरोहित अग्नि को उषाएं सूर्य के समान चूमती हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Both God and man made Agne, the protector and the possessor of all by power, a means of yajna. The great son of Vayu and the priest kiss agni like the sun. (2)
बळ॑स्य नी॒था वि प॒णेश्च॑ मन्महे व॒या अ॑स्य॒ प्रहु॑ता आसु॒रत्त॑वे । य॒दा घो॒रासो॑ अमृत॒त्वमाश॒तादिज्जन॑स्य॒ दैव्य॑स्य चर्किरन् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुतियोग्य अग्नि के द्वारा बताए हुए ज्ञानों को हम सत्य मानते हैं. हमारी अन्न की आहुतियां इस अग्ने के भक्षण के लिए हों. जब अग्नि की भयानक ज्वालाएं अमरता प्राप्त करती हैं, उसी समय हमारे ऋत्विज् उन्हें हव्य देते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
We believe that the knowledge given by the praiseworthy agni is true. Let our food offerings be for the devouring of this agne. When the terrible flames of agni attain immortality, at the same time our rituals give them a greeting. (3)
ऋ॒तस्य॒ हि प्रसि॑ति॒र्द्यौरु॒रु व्यचो॒ नमो॑ म॒ह्य१॒॑रम॑तिः॒ पनी॑यसी । इन्द्रो॑ मि॒त्रो वरु॑णः॒ सं चि॑कित्रि॒रेऽथो॒ भगः॑ सवि॒ता पू॒तद॑क्षसः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विस्तृत द्यौ, विस्तीर्ण वचन, फैला हुआ अंतरिक्ष, विस्तारयुक्त द्यौ तथा स्तुतियोग्य एवं अनंत धरती यज्ञ की अग्नि को नमस्कार करते हैं. पवित्र शक्ति वाले इंद्र, मित्र, वरुण, सविता एवं भगदेव उत्पन्न होते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The elaborate dyau, the vast word, the expanded space, the expanded dyau and the praiseworthy and eternal earth greet the agni of yajna. The holy spirits are born Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Savita and Bhagadeva. (4)
प्र रु॒द्रेण॑ य॒यिना॑ यन्ति॒ सिन्ध॑वस्ति॒रो म॒हीम॒रम॑तिं दधन्विरे । येभिः॒ परि॑ज्मा परि॒यन्नु॒रु ज्रयो॒ वि रोरु॑वज्ज॒ठरे॒ विश्व॑मु॒क्षते॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बहने वाली नदियां गमनशील रुद्र की सहायता से बहती हैं एवं महती धरती को ढक देती हैं. सब ओर जाने वाले इंद्र सब ओर गति करते हुए मरुतों की सहायता से अत्यंत वेग धारण करते हैं एवं महान् शब्द करते हुए संसार को सींचते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The flowing rivers flow with the help of the moving Rudra and cover the earth. Indra, who goes all the way, moves all the way, with the help of the maruts, holds great velocity and irrigates the world with great words. (5)
क्रा॒णा रु॒द्रा म॒रुतो॑ वि॒श्वकृ॑ष्टयो दि॒वः श्ये॒नासो॒ असु॑रस्य नी॒ळयः॑ । तेभि॑श्चष्टे॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॑र्य॒मेन्द्रो॑ दे॒वेभि॑रर्व॒शेभि॒रर्व॑शः ॥ (६)

मेघ के आवास, आकाश के बाज तुल्य एवं विश्व को खींचने वाले रुद्रपुत्र मरुत् अपने अधिकार के कार्य करते हैं. इन अश्वारूढ़ देवों के साथ अश्च वाले इंद्र, वरुण, मित्र और अर्यमा इन सबको देखा है. (६)
EN English Translation
Rudraputra Marut, who is equal to the heavens, and draws the world, the abodes of the cloud, do the work of his authority. Indra, Varuna, Mitra and Aryama have seen all of them with these ashwarood gods. (6)
इन्द्रे॒ भुजं॑ शशमा॒नास॑ आशत॒ सूरो॒ दृशी॑के॒ वृष॑णश्च॒ पौंस्ये॑ । प्र ये न्व॑स्या॒र्हणा॑ ततक्षि॒रे युजं॒ वज्रं॑ नृ॒षद॑नेषु का॒रवः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोता इंद्र से पालन, सूर्य से देखने की शक्ति एवं अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र से पौरुष प्राप्त करते हैं. जो स्तोता विशेषरूप से इंद्र की शीघ्र पूजा करते हैं, वे यज्ञो में इंद्र के वज्र को अपना सहायक मानते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Stota receives the power of observance from Indra, the power to see from the sun and the desire to be fulfilled by Indra. The stotas, especially those who worship Indra quickly, consider Indra's thunderbolt in the yagnas as their helper. (7)
सूर॑श्चि॒दा ह॒रितो॑ अस्य रीरम॒दिन्द्रा॒दा कश्चि॑द्भयते॒ तवी॑यसः । भी॒मस्य॒ वृष्णो॑ ज॒ठरा॑दभि॒श्वसो॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे॒ सहु॑रिः स्त॒न्नबा॑धितः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य भी इंद्र की आज्ञा पालन करने के लिए घोड़ों को चलाते हैं एवं सबको प्रसन्न करते हैं. सभी देव शक्तिशाली इंद्र से डरते हैं. भयानक जलवर्षक, प्रतिदिन सांस लेने वाले एवं बाधारहित इंद्र अंतरिक्ष से सहनशील बनकर शब्द करते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The Sun also drives horses to obey Indra and pleases everyone. All the gods are afraid of the mighty Indra. The terrible water-yearn, the daily breathing and unhindered Indra, speaks words from space as tolerant. (8)
स्तोमं॑ वो अ॒द्य रु॒द्राय॒ शिक्व॑से क्ष॒यद्वी॑राय॒ नम॑सा दिदिष्टन । येभिः॑ शि॒वः स्ववा॑ँ एव॒याव॑भिर्दि॒वः सिष॑क्ति॒ स्वय॑शा॒ निका॑मभिः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! जिन आने वाले मरुतों के साथ शक्तिशाली अपनी कीर्ति विस्तृत करने वाले एवं सुखकारक ईश्वर द्युलोक से यजमानों की सेवा करते हैं, आज यज्ञ में उन्हीं निश्चित अभिलाषा वाले मरुतों से युक्त, शत्रुनाशक व शरण देने योग्य रुद्र को नमस्कार के साथ स्तोत्र बनाओ. (९)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! With the coming maruts with whom the powerful serve the hosts from the god Duloka, who has expanded his fame and is pleasing, today make a hymn in the yajna with a greeting to the enemy-destroyer and shelterable Rudra, with the same definite desire. (9)
ते हि प्र॒जाया॒ अभ॑रन्त॒ वि श्रवो॒ बृह॒स्पति॑र्वृष॒भः सोम॑जामयः । य॒ज्ञैरथ॑र्वा प्रथ॒मो वि धा॑रयद्दे॒वा दक्षै॒र्भृग॑वः॒ सं चि॑कित्रिरे ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चूंकि अभिलाषापूरक बृहस्पति एवं सोम के बंधु देव वृष्टि करके प्रजा के लिए अन्न बढ़ाते हैं, इसलिए उन प्रजाओं के मध्य अथर्वा ऋषि ने यज्ञ के द्वारा सबसे पहले देवों को धारण किया. इसके बाद सभी शक्तिशाली देवों एवं भृगुवंशी ऋषियों ने जाकर यज्ञ को जाना. (१०)
EN English Translation
Since the brothers of Jupiter and Soma, the desireful Jupiter and The Brahma brothers, increase food for the people by raining, the sage Atharva among those people first possessed the gods through the yajna. After this, all the powerful gods and bhriguvanshi sages went and went and went to the yagna. (10)
ते हि द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी भूरि॑रेतसा॒ नरा॒शंस॒श्चतु॑रङ्गो य॒मोऽदि॑तिः । दे॒वस्त्वष्टा॑ द्रविणो॒दा ऋ॑भु॒क्षणः॒ प्र रो॑द॒सी म॒रुतो॒ विष्णु॑रर्हिरे ॥ (११)

नराशंस नामक यज्ञ में स्तोताओं द्वारा अधिक जल वाली द्यावा-पृथिवी, यम, अदिति धन देने वाले त्वष्टा, ऋभुगण, रुद्र की पत्नी, मरुद्गण एवं विष्णु चार अंगों वाली अग्नियों के साथ पूजे जाते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
In the yajna called Narasans, the stotas are worshipped by the stotas with high-watered Dyava-Prithivi, Yama, Aditi, the giving of wealth, the tvastha, the Ribhugana, rudra's wife, the marudgana and vishnu with four limbs of agni. (11)
उ॒त स्य न॑ उ॒शिजा॑मुर्वि॒या क॒विरहिः॑ शृणोतु बु॒ध्न्यो॒३॒॑ हवी॑मनि । सूर्या॒मासा॑ वि॒चर॑न्ता दिवि॒क्षिता॑ धि॒या श॑मीनहुषी अ॒स्य बो॑धतम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बुद्धिमान् अहिर्बु्य हम कामना करने वाले ऋत्विजों की विशाल स्तुति को यज्ञ में सुनें. हे आकाश में निवास करने वाले एवं विचरण करने वाले सूर्य-चंद्र! तुम अपनी बुद्धि से इस स्तोत्र को जानो. हे द्यावा-पृथिवी! तुम स्तुति को अपनी बुद्धि से जानो. (१२)
EN English Translation
Let us listen to the great praise of the wise and willing ritvijs in the yajna. O sun and moon that dwell in the sky and move! You know this hymn by your wisdom. This is the earth! You know the praise by your wisdom. (12)
प्र नः॑ पू॒षा च॒रथं॑ वि॒श्वदे॑व्यो॒ऽपां नपा॑दवतु वा॒युरि॒ष्टये॑ । आ॒त्मानं॒ वस्यो॑ अ॒भि वात॑मर्चत॒ तद॑श्विना सुहवा॒ याम॑नि श्रुतम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पूषा एवं सभी देवों के हितैषी तथा जल के नाती वायु हमारे गतिशील प्राणियों की यज्ञहेतु रक्षा करें. प्रशंसनीय अन्न पाने के लिए वायु की पूजा करो. हे शोभन आह्वान वाले अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम यज्ञ में जाते समय यह स्तोत्र सुनो. (१३)
EN English Translation
May the worship and the benefactors of all the gods and the grandson of water protect our moving beings. Worship the air to get praiseworthy food. O Shobhan invocation Ashwinikumaro! Listen to this hymn while you go to the yagna. (13)
वि॒शामा॒सामभ॑यानामधि॒क्षितं॑ गी॒र्भिरु॒ स्वय॑शसं गृणीमसि । ग्नाभि॒र्विश्वा॑भि॒रदि॑तिमन॒र्वण॑म॒क्तोर्युवा॑नं नृ॒मणा॒ अधा॒ पति॑म् ॥ (१४)

हम इन प्रजाओं को अभय देने वाले, सबके मध्य निवास करने वाले व अपने यश को स्वयं उत्पन्न करने वाले अग्नि की प्रशंसा स्तुतियों द्वारा करते हैं. हम देवपत्नियों के साथ स्थिर अदिति को अपने तेज की निशा से मिलाने वाले चंद्र एवं मानवों पर अनुग्रह करने के अभिलाषी व सर्वपालक इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
We praise the agni that gives shelter to these people, who dwells among all, and produces our own glory. We, along with the devas and wives, praise indra, who aspires and all-rounders to grace the moon and human beings who have reunited the stable Aditi with the nisha of his glory. (14)
रेभ॒दत्र॑ ज॒नुषा॒ पूर्वो॒ अङ्गि॑रा॒ ग्रावा॑ण ऊ॒र्ध्वा अ॒भि च॑क्षुरध्व॒रम् । येभि॒र्विहा॑या॒ अभ॑वद्विचक्ष॒णः पाथः॑ सु॒मेकं॒ स्वधि॑ति॒र्वन॑न्वति ॥ (१५)

प्राचीन अंगिरा ऋषि इस यज्ञ में देवों की स्तुति करते हैं. वे पत्थर ऊपर उठाकर यज्ञसाधन सोम को देखते हैं. विशेषदृष्टि वाले इंद्र पत्थरों के शब्द से महान हुए हैं. इंद्र के वज्र ने इस मार्ग में अन्रसाधन जल बरसाया. (१५)
EN English Translation
The ancient Angira sages praise the gods in this yagna. They lift up the stone and look at The Yajnasadhan Som. Indra with special eyesight has been great by the word of stones. Indra's thunderbolt rained water in this route. (15)
