स॒मि॒ध्यमा॑नः प्रथ॒मानु॒ धर्मा॒ सम॒क्तुभि॑रज्यते वि॒श्ववा॑रः । शो॒चिष्के॑शो घृ॒तनि॑र्णिक्पाव॒कः सु॑य॒ज्ञो अ॒ग्निर्य॒जथा॑य दे॒वान् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ संबंधी कर्मो के धारक, ज्वालारूपी केश वाले, सबके स्वीकार्य, पवित्र करने वाले एवं शोभन यज्ञों से युक्त अग्नि यज्ञ के प्रारंभ में क्रमशः जले हैं एवं देवयज्ञ करने के लिए घी से सींचे जाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The holders of the yajna-related deeds, those with a flame-like hairstyle, acceptable to all, sanctifying and adorning the yagnas are burnt respectively at the beginning of the agni yajna and are irrigated with ghee to perform the devyagna. (1)
यथाय॑जो हो॒त्रम॑ग्ने पृथि॒व्या यथा॑ दि॒वो जा॑तवेदश्चिकि॒त्वान् । ए॒वानेन॑ ह॒विषा॑ यक्षि दे॒वान्म॑नु॒ष्वद्य॒ज्ञं प्र ति॑रे॒मम॒द्य ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद एवं सर्वज्ञ अग्नि! तुमने जिस प्रकार यजमानरूप पृथ्वी का हवि स्वीकार किया, जिस प्रकार आकाश देवता का द्रव्य स्वीकार किया, उसी प्रकार हमारे यज्ञ में होता बनकर देवों को उनका भाग प्रदान करो. तुम मनु के यज्ञ के समान हमारा यज्ञ आज पूरा करो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Jativeda and omniscient agni! Just as you have accepted the glory of the earth as the host, just as you have accepted the substance of the heavens, so in our yajna, become the part of the gods and give their share to the gods. You complete our yajna today like manu's yajna. (2)
त्रीण्यायूं॑षि॒ तव॑ जातवेदस्ति॒स्र आ॒जानी॑रु॒षस॑स्ते अग्ने । ताभि॑र्दे॒वाना॒मवो॑ यक्षि वि॒द्वानथा॑ भव॒ यज॑मानाय॒ शं योः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! तुम्हारा अन्न तीन प्रकार का है तथा तीन प्रकार की उषाएं तुम्हारी माता हैं. तुम उनके साथ मिलकर देवों को हव्य दो. हे विद्वान् अग्नि! तुम यजमान के सुख और कल्याण के कारण बनो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Jativeda Agni! Your food is of three types and three types of usha are your mother. You should join them and give greetings to the gods. O scholarly agni! You become the cause of the pleasures and well-being of the host. (3)
अ॒ग्निं सु॑दी॒तिं सु॒दृशं॑ गृ॒णन्तो॑ नम॒स्याम॒स्त्वेड्यं॑ जातवेदः । त्वां दू॒तम॑र॒तिं ह॑व्य॒वाहं॑ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वन्न॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभि॑म् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! हम शोभन दीप्ति वाले, सुंदर एवं स्तुति के योग्य तुम्हें नमस्कार करते हैं. देवों ने तुम्हें विषयों से आसक्ति रहित, हव्य वहन करने वाला दूत तथा अमृत की नाभि बनाया है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Jativeda Agni! We greet you with a warm glow, beautiful and worthy of praise. The gods have made you a non-attachment to the subjects, a bearer of speech and a navel of nectar. (4)
यस्त्वद्धोता॒ पूर्वो॑ अग्ने॒ यजी॑यान्द्वि॒ता च॒ सत्ता॑ स्व॒धया॑ च श॒म्भुः । तस्यानु॒ धर्म॒ प्र य॑जा चिकि॒त्वोऽथ॑ नो धा अध्व॒रं दे॒ववी॑तौ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्वज्ञ अग्नि! तुमसे पहले जो विशेष यज्ञ करने वाले हुए थे एवं स्वधा के साथ उत्तम तथा मध्यम स्थानों पर बैठे कर जिन्होंने सुख पाया था, उनके धारक गुणों का विचार करके पहले उनका यज्ञ पूरा करो. इसके बाद देवों को प्रसन्न करने के लिए यज्ञ पूरा करो. (५)
EN English Translation
O omniscient agni! Those who performed special yajna before you and who sat with swadha in the best and middle places and who had found happiness, consider their possessive qualities and complete their yajna first. After this complete the yajna to please the gods. (5)
