प्र वो॒ वाजा॑ अ॒भिद्य॑वो ह॒विष्म॑न्तो घृ॒ताच्या॑ । दे॒वाञ्जि॑गाति सुम्न॒युः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋतुओ! मास, अर्धमास, देव, एवं गौ सब तुम्हारे यज्ञ के लिए समर्थ हैं. सुख की इच्छा करता हुआ यजमान देवों को प्राप्त करता है. (१)
EN English Translation
O seasons! The maas, the ardhamas, the gods, and the cow are all capable of your yajna. The host, desiring happiness, receives the gods. (1)
ईळे॑ अ॒ग्निं वि॑प॒श्चितं॑ गि॒रा य॒ज्ञस्य॒ साध॑नम् । श्रु॒ष्टी॒वानं॑ धि॒तावा॑नम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं स्तुतियों द्वारा मेधावी, यज्ञ संपन्न करने वाले एवं सुख तथा धन के स्वामी अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूं. (२)
EN English Translation
I praise Agni, the bright, the one who performs the yagna and the lord of happiness and wealth, through praises. (2)
अग्ने॑ श॒केम॑ ते व॒यं यमं॑ दे॒वस्य॑ वा॒जिनः॑ । अति॒ द्वेषां॑सि तरेम ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे द्योतमान अग्नि! हवि लिए हुए हम लोग यज्ञ की समाप्ति तक तुम्हें यहीं रखने में समर्थ हैं. इस प्रकार हम पापों से छुटकारा पा लेंगे. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! We are able to keep you here until the end of the yajna. Thus we will get rid of sins. (3)
स॒मि॒ध्यमा॑नो अध्व॒रे॒३॒॑ऽग्निः पा॑व॒क ईड्यः॑ । शो॒चिष्के॑श॒स्तमी॑महे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ में प्रज्वलित, ज्वाला रूपी केशों से युक्त, शुद्धिकर्ता तथा स्तोताओं द्वारा पूजनीय अग्नि से हम मनचाहे फल की याचना करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
In the yajna, we beg for the desired fruit from the agni that is ignited, with the hair of the flame, worshipped by the purifiers and the stothas. (4)
पृ॒थु॒पाजा॒ अम॑र्त्यो घृ॒तनि॑र्णि॒क्स्वा॑हुतः । अ॒ग्निर्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ हव्य॒वाट् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
परम तेजस्वी, मरणरहित, घृतशोधक एवं हव्य द्वारा पूजित अग्नि इस यज्ञ का हवि वहन करें. (५)
EN English Translation
The most glorious, deathless, abominable and worshiped by havya, let the agni bear the glory of this yajna. (5)
तं स॒बाधो॑ य॒तस्रु॑च इ॒त्था धि॒या य॒ज्ञव॑न्तः । आ च॑क्रुर॒ग्निमू॒तये॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ का विच्न नष्ट करने में समर्थ एवं हव्य धारण करने वाले ऋत्विजों ने खुच हाथ में लेकर इस प्रकार की स्तुतियों द्वारा अग्नि को रक्षा के लिए अभिमुख किया था. (६)
EN English Translation
The ritwijas, who were able to destroy the yajna and who were wearing the havan, had taken the khuch in their hands and turned the agni towards protection by such hymns. (6)
होता॑ दे॒वो अम॑र्त्यः पु॒रस्ता॑देति मा॒यया॑ । वि॒दथा॑नि प्रचो॒दय॑न् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
होम निष्पादक, मरणरहित एवं द्योतमान अग्नि लोगों को यज्ञकर्म करने के लिए प्रेरित करके अपनी माया से अग्रगामी बनते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Home executors, deathless and demure agnis become the forerunners of their maya by inspiring people to perform yajnakarma. (7)
वा॒जी वाजे॑षु धीयतेऽध्व॒रेषु॒ प्र णी॑यते । विप्रो॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॒ साध॑नः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बलवान् अग्नि युद्धों में आगे किए जाते हैं एवं यज्ञ में स्थापित होते हैं. अग्नि मेधावी व यज्ञ के साधक हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Balvanas are carried forward in agni wars and are established in yajna. Agni is brilliant and seeker of yajna. (8)
धि॒या च॑क्रे॒ वरे॑ण्यो भू॒तानां॒ गर्भ॒मा द॑धे । दक्ष॑स्य पि॒तरं॒ तना॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमानों द्वारा यज्ञकर्म का अंग होने से वरणीय, भूतों में गर्भरूप से स्थित एवं पितारूप अग्नि को यज्ञवेदिका पर धारण करती है. (९)
EN English Translation
Being a part of the yajnakarma by the hosts, the varnasya, located in the womb of the ghosts and the pitiform, holds agni on the yajna vedaika. (9)
नि त्वा॑ दधे॒ वरे॑ण्यं॒ दक्ष॑स्ये॒ळा स॑हस्कृत । अग्ने॑ सुदी॒तिमु॒शिज॑म् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बल द्वारा उत्पन्न, शोभनदीप्तियुक्त, हव्य के अभिलाषी एवं वरणीय अग्नि! दक्ष की पुत्री इडा अर्थात् यज्ञभूमि तुम्हें धारण करती है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni produced by force, illuminated, desireful and desirable agni of the human being! Daksha's daughter Ida i.e. yajnabhoomi holds you. (10)
अ॒ग्निं य॒न्तुर॑म॒प्तुर॑मृ॒तस्य॒ योगे॑ व॒नुषः॑ । विप्रा॒ वाजैः॒ समि॑न्धते ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भक्त यजमान एवं मेधावी अध्वर्यु सबके नियंता एवं जल के प्रेरक अग्नि को यज्ञ के प्रयोग के लिए हविरूप अन्रों के द्वारा भली-भांति प्रदीप्त करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The devotees, the host and the meritorious adhwaryu, the controller of all and the inspirational agni of water, are well lit up by the hapishe of the interiors for the use of the yajna. (11)
ऊ॒र्जो नपा॑तमध्व॒रे दी॑दि॒वांस॒मुप॒ द्यवि॑ । अ॒ग्निमी॑ळे क॒विक्र॑तुम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अन्न के नाती, अंतरिक्ष के समीप प्रकाशित होने वाले एवं मेधावियों द्वारा उत्पादित अग्नि की मैं यज्ञ में स्तुति करता हूं. (१२)
EN English Translation
I praise the grandson of food, the agni that is illuminated near space and the agni produced by the meritorious in the yajna. (12)
ई॒ळेन्यो॑ नम॒स्य॑स्ति॒रस्तमां॑सि दर्श॒तः । सम॒ग्निरि॑ध्यते॒ वृषा॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पूजा तथा नमस्कार के योग्य, अंधकार का नाश करने के कारण सबके दर्शनीय एवं कामवर्षी अग्नि प्रज्वलित किए जाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Worthy of worship and salutations, due to the destruction of darkness, the agni is ignited by all the visible and working years. (13)
वृषो॑ अ॒ग्निः समि॑ध्य॒तेऽश्वो॒ न दे॑व॒वाह॑नः । तं ह॒विष्म॑न्त ईळते ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
घोड़े के समान देवों का हव्य ढोने वाले एवं कामवर्षक अग्नि प्रज्वलित किए जाते हैं. हवि धारण करने वाले यजमान उनकी प्रार्थना करते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Like a horse, the agni carrying the hands of the gods and the workman are ignited. The hosts who hold the havi pray to them. (14)
वृष॑णं त्वा व॒यं वृ॑ष॒न्वृष॑णः॒ समि॑धीमहि । अग्ने॒ दीद्य॑तं बृ॒हत् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामवर्षक अग्नि! जल बरसाने वाले दीप्तिमान् एवं महान् तुमको घी की आहुति से सींचने वाले हम प्रज्वलित करते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
O working agni! We light the lights of the water-showering lights and the great ones who irrigate you with the offering of ghee. (15)
