आ गावो॑ अग्मन्नु॒त भ॒द्रम॑क्र॒न्सीद॑न्तु गो॒ष्ठे र॒णय॑न्त्व॒स्मे । प्र॒जाव॑तीः पुरु॒रूपा॑ इ॒ह स्यु॒रिन्द्रा॑य पू॒र्वीरु॒षसो॒ दुहा॑नाः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गाएं हमारे घर आवें और हमारा कल्याण करें. वे हमारी गोशाला में बैठे एवं हमारे ऊपर प्रसन्न हों. इस गोशाला की तरह-तरह के रंगों वाली गाएं बछड़ों वाली होकर इंद्र के निमित्त प्रातःकाल दूध दें. (१)
EN English Translation
Sing to our house and do us well. Let them sit in our goshala and be pleased with us. In this goshala, cows with different colours are calves and give milk in the morning for Indra. (1)
इन्द्रो॒ यज्व॑ने पृण॒ते च॑ शिक्ष॒त्युपेद्द॑दाति॒ न स्वं मु॑षायति । भूयो॑भूयो र॒यिमिद॑स्य व॒र्धय॒न्नभि॑न्ने खि॒ल्ये नि द॑धाति देव॒युम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र यज्ञ करने वाले एवं स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रसन्न करने वाले को मनचाहा धन देते हैं. वे उन्हें सदा धन देते हैं, कभी छीनते नहीं. वे बराबर ऐसे लोगों का धन बढ़ाते हैं एवं देवों को चाहने वाले को शत्रुओं द्वारा भिन्न न होने वाले स्थान में रखते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Indra gives the desired money to the one who performs the yajna and pleases through praises. They give them money forever, never take away. They equally increase the wealth of such people and place the one who wants the gods in a place that is not separated by the enemies. (2)
न ता न॑शन्ति॒ न द॑भाति॒ तस्क॑रो॒ नासा॑मामि॒त्रो व्यथि॒रा द॑धर्षति । दे॒वाँश्च॒ याभि॒र्यज॑ते॒ ददा॑ति च॒ ज्योगित्ताभिः॑ सचते॒ गोप॑तिः स॒ह ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे गाएं नष्ट न हों. चोर उन्हें चुरावें नहीं. शत्रुओं का शस्त्र उन पर न गिरे. गायों का स्वामी जिन गायों द्वारा इंद्र के निमित्त यज्ञ करता है एवं जिन्हें इंद्र को दिया जाता है, उन गायों के साथ उनका स्वामी अधिक समय तक रहे. (३)
EN English Translation
They sing don't be destroyed. Thieves don't steal them. Do not let the weapons of the enemies fall on them. The owner of the cows, the cows by which he performs yajna for Indra and which are given to Indra, stayed with them for a long time. (3)
न ता अर्वा॑ रे॒णुक॑काटो अश्नुते॒ न सं॑स्कृत॒त्रमुप॑ यन्ति॒ ता अ॒भि । उ॒रु॒गा॒यमभ॑यं॒ तस्य॒ ता अनु॒ गावो॒ मर्त॑स्य॒ वि च॑रन्ति॒ यज्व॑नः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धूल उड़ाने वाले एवं युद्ध के लिए आए हुए घोड़े उन गायों को न पावें. वे गाएं विशसन संस्कार को न प्राप्त करें. यज्ञकर्ता मनुष्य की गाएं विस्तृत एवं भयरहित स्थान में घूमें. (४)
EN English Translation
The dust-blowing horses and the horses that have come to war should not find those cows. They sing don't get the vishasana sanskar. The songs of the sacrificial man should roam in a wide and fearless place. (4)
गावो॒ भगो॒ गाव॒ इन्द्रो॑ मे अच्छा॒न्गावः॒ सोम॑स्य प्रथ॒मस्य॑ भ॒क्षः । इ॒मा या गावः॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्र॑ इ॒च्छामीद्धृ॒दा मन॑सा चि॒दिन्द्र॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गाएं हमारा धन हों. इंद्र हमें गाएं दें. गाएं हमें उत्तम सोमरस के रूप में भक्ष्य दें. हे मनुष्यो! इसी प्रकार की गाएं इंद्र बन जाती हैं. हम श्रद्धापूर्ण मन से इंद्र को चाहते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Sing be our wealth. Indra sing to us. Sing give us the food as the best somras. O men! Similar songs become Indra. We want Indra with a reverential mind. (5)
यू॒यं गा॑वो मेदयथा कृ॒शं चि॑दश्री॒रं चि॑त्कृणुथा सु॒प्रती॑कम् । भ॒द्रं गृ॒हं कृ॑णुथ भद्रवाचो बृ॒हद्वो॒ वय॑ उच्यते स॒भासु॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गायो! तुम हमें बलिष्ठ बनाओ. तुम दुबले एवं असुंदर को भी सुंदर शरीर वाला बनाओ. हे भद्रवचन वाली गायो! हमारे घर को कल्याणमय बनाओ. यज्ञ सभाओं में तुम्हारे महान् अन्न का वर्णन होता है. (६)
EN English Translation
Hey, sing! You make us strong. You also make the lean and the unshadowed with a beautiful body. O you sing with a bhadravachan! Make our home well-meaning. Your great food is described in the yagna sabhas. (6)
प्र॒जाव॑तीः सू॒यव॑सं रि॒शन्तीः॑ शु॒द्धा अ॒पः सु॑प्रपा॒णे पिब॑न्तीः । मा वः॑ स्ते॒न ई॑शत॒ माघशं॑सः॒ परि॑ वो हे॒ती रु॒द्रस्य॑ वृज्याः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गायो! तुम संतान वाली बनो, खाने के निमित्त सुंदर तिनके तोड़ो एवं सुख से पीने योग्य तालाब आदि से साफ पानी पिओ. चोर तुम्हारा अधिपति न बने. हिंसक पशु तुम पर आक्रमण न करें. कालरूप परमेश्वर का आयुध तुमसे दूर रहे. (७)
EN English Translation
Hey, sing! Be a child, break beautiful straws for the sake of food and drink clean water from a happy drinkable pond, etc. Don't let the thief be your boss. Don't let violent animals attack you. God's weapon may be far from you. (7)
उपे॒दमु॑प॒पर्च॑नमा॒सु गोषूप॑ पृच्यताम् । उप॑ ऋष॒भस्य॒ रेत॒स्युपे॑न्द्र॒ तव॑ वी॒र्ये॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हें शक्तिशाली बनाने के लिए इन गायों के पुष्ट होने की प्रार्थना की जा रही है. तुम्हारी शक्ति के लिए गायों को गर्भवती बनाने वाले सांड़ों की शक्ति की प्रार्थना की जा रही है. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are being prayed to make these cows stronger to be athletic. The power of the bulls that make cows pregnant is being prayed for your strength. (8)
