यस्ति॒ग्मशृ॑ङ्गो वृष॒भो न भी॒म एकः॑ कृ॒ष्टीश्च्या॒वय॑ति॒ प्र विश्वाः॑ । यः शश्व॑तो॒ अदा॑शुषो॒ गय॑स्य प्रय॒न्तासि॒ सुष्वि॑तराय॒ वेदः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो तीखे सींगों वाले एवं भयानक बैल के समान अकेले ही सारे शत्रुओं को भगा देते हैं एवं जो यज्ञ न करने वाले बहुत से लोगों के घर छीन लेते हैं, वे ही अतिशय सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले को धन देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Those who, like a sharp-horned and terrible bull, alone drive away all the enemies, and those who take away the houses of many people who do not perform yajna, give money to the one who squeezes the extreme somras. (1)
त्वं ह॒ त्यदि॑न्द्र॒ कुत्स॑मावः॒ शुश्रू॑षमाणस्त॒न्वा॑ सम॒र्ये । दासं॒ यच्छुष्णं॒ कुय॑वं॒ न्य॑स्मा॒ अर॑न्धय आर्जुने॒याय॒ शिक्ष॑न् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने उस समय शरीर से शुश्रूषा पाकर युद्ध में कुत्स की रक्षा की थी, जिस समय तुमने अर्जुनी के पुत्र कुत्स को धन देते हुए दास, शुष्ण और कुयव को वश में किया था. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You protected the dogs in the war by getting shushrusha from the body at that time, at which time you subdued Das, Shushna and Kuyava, giving money to Katsa, the son of Arjuna. (2)
त्वं धृ॑ष्णो धृष॒ता वी॒तह॑व्यं॒ प्रावो॒ विश्वा॑भिरू॒तिभिः॑ सु॒दास॑म् । प्र पौरु॑कुत्सिं त्र॒सद॑स्युमावः॒ क्षेत्र॑साता वृत्र॒हत्ये॑षु पू॒रुम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुनाशक इंद्र! तुम अपने धर्षक वज्र द्वारा रक्षा के सभी साधन प्रयोग में लाकर हव्य देने वाले सुदास को बचाओ. भूमि के कारण होने वाले युद्ध में पुरुकुत्स के पुत्र त्रसदस्यु एवं पुरु की रक्षा करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O enemies Indra! You save the sudas who give the havya by using all the means of protection by your dracon vajra. Protect the sons of Purukuts, Trasadsyu and Puru in the battle caused by the land. (3)
त्वं नृभि॑र्नृमणो दे॒ववी॑तौ॒ भूरी॑णि वृ॒त्रा ह॑र्यश्व हंसि । त्वं नि दस्युं॒ चुमु॑रिं॒ धुनिं॒ चास्वा॑पयो द॒भीत॑ये सु॒हन्तु॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञ के नेताओं द्वारा स्तुतियोग्य इंद्र! तुमने संग्राम में मरुतों के साथ मिलकर बहुत से शत्रुओं को मारा था. हे हरि नामक अश्चों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुमने दभीति के कल्याण के लिए दस्यु, चुमुरि और धुनि को अपने वज्र द्वारा सुला दिया था. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra worthy of praise by the leaders of the yajna! You killed many enemies together with the Maruts in the battle. O Indra, lord of the aschas called Hari! You put the bandits, the chumuri and the dhuni to sleep with your thunderbolt for the welfare of the devil. (4)
तव॑ च्यौ॒त्नानि॑ वज्रहस्त॒ तानि॒ नव॒ यत्पुरो॑ नव॒तिं च॑ स॒द्यः । नि॒वेश॑ने शतत॒मावि॑वेषी॒रह॑ञ्च वृ॒त्रं नमु॑चिमु॒ताह॑न् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रहस्त इंद्र! तुम्हारे बल ऐसे हैं कि तुमने शंबर की निन्यानवे नगरियों को तुरंत ही नष्ट कर डाला था. अपने निवास के लिए सौवीं नगरी में प्रवेश किया था तथा वृत्र और नमुचि को मारा था. (५)
EN English Translation
O Lord Indra! Your strengths are such that you immediately destroyed the ninety-nine cities of Shambar. He had entered the hundredth city for his residence and had killed Vrithra and Namuchi. (5)
सना॒ ता त॑ इन्द्र॒ भोज॑नानि रा॒तह॑व्याय दा॒शुषे॑ सु॒दासे॑ । वृष्णे॑ ते॒ हरी॒ वृष॑णा युनज्मि॒ व्यन्तु॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि पुरुशाक॒ वाज॑म् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हव्य देने वाले यजमान सुदास के लिए तुम्हारे द्वारा दिए हुए धन सनातन हुए थे. हे बहुकर्म वाले एवं अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र! तुम्हें लाने के लिए दो मनचाहे घोड़े मैं रथ में जोड़ता हूं. स्तुतियां तुम बलशाली के पास जावें. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The money you gave for sudas, the host who gave the havya, was eternal. O you who are multi-worked and full of desires, Indra! I'll add to the chariot the two horses I want to bring you. Praises go to the mighty. (6)
मा ते॑ अ॒स्यां स॑हसाव॒न्परि॑ष्टाव॒घाय॑ भूम हरिवः परा॒दै । त्राय॑स्व नोऽवृ॒केभि॒र्वरू॑थै॒स्तव॑ प्रि॒यासः॑ सू॒रिषु॑ स्याम ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली एवं अश्वस्वामी इंद्र! इस यज्ञ में हम आदान और पाप के भागी न बनें. हमें अपने बाधारहित रक्षासाधनों द्वारा बचाओ. हम तुम्हारे स्तोताओं में प्रिय हों. (७)
EN English Translation
O mighty and ashwaswamy Indra! In this yajna, let us not become partners of exchange and sin. Save us by your unhindered defenses. We are dear to your hymns. (7)
प्रि॒यास॒ इत्ते॑ मघवन्न॒भिष्टौ॒ नरो॑ मदेम शर॒णे सखा॑यः । नि तु॒र्वशं॒ नि याद्वं॑ शिशीह्यतिथि॒ग्वाय॒ शंस्यं॑ करि॒ष्यन् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम्हारे यज्ञों में हम स्तोताओं के नेता, तुम्हारे मित्र एवं प्रिय बनकर अपने घर में प्रसन्न हों. अतिथियों की पूजा करने वाले सुदास को सुख देते हुए तुर्वश एवं याद्व नामक राजाओं को वश में करो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Dhanaswami Indra! In your yajnas, may we be happy in our home as leaders of the psalms, your friends and your beloved. Subdue the kings named Turvash and Yada, giving happiness to Sudas, who worship the guests. (8)
स॒द्यश्चि॒न्नु ते म॑घवन्न॒भिष्टौ॒ नरः॑ शंसन्त्युक्थ॒शास॑ उ॒क्था । ये ते॒ हवे॑भि॒र्वि प॒णीँरदा॑शन्न॒स्मान्वृ॑णीष्व॒ युज्या॑य॒ तस्मै॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे यज्ञ में नेता और उक्थ बोलने वाले हैं. हम तुम्हें हव्य देने के साथ-साथ तुम्हें दान न देने वाले पणियों को भी दानशील बनाते हैं. तुम हमें मित्रता के लिए स्वीकार करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Dhanaswami Indra! We are the leader and the uqtha-speaker in your yajna. We give you a gift as well as make you charitable to non-charitable people. You accept us for friendship. (9)
ए॒ते स्तोमा॑ न॒रां नृ॑तम॒ तुभ्य॑मस्म॒द्र्य॑ञ्चो॒ दद॑तो म॒घानि॑ । तेषा॑मिन्द्र वृत्र॒हत्ये॑ शि॒वो भूः॒ सखा॑ च॒ शूरो॑ऽवि॒ता च॑ नृ॒णाम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नेताओं में श्रेष्ठ इंद्र! यज्ञ के नेताओं के इस समूह ने यज्ञों में हव्य देकर तुम्हें हमारी ओर उन्मुख बना दिया है. युद्ध में तुम उन्हीं नेताओं के कल्याणकारी, मित्र एवं रक्षक बनो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra, the best of the leaders! This group of yagna leaders has made you oriented towards us by giving a havya in the yajnas. Be the welfare, friend and protector of those same leaders in war. (10)
नू इ॑न्द्र शूर॒ स्तव॑मान ऊ॒ती ब्रह्म॑जूतस्त॒न्वा॑ वावृधस्व । उप॑ नो॒ वाजा॑न्मिमी॒ह्युप॒ स्तीन्यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुम स्तुतियां सुनकर और मंत्रों के भागी बनकर अपने शरीर से बढ़ो तथा हमें अन्न व घर दो. तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (११)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! Listen to praises and become a part of mantras and grow from your body and give us food and home. May you always protect us through welfare means. (11)
