सखा॑य॒ आ नि षी॑दत पुना॒नाय॒ प्र गा॑यत । शिशुं॒ न य॒ज्ञैः परि॑ भूषत श्रि॒ये ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र स्तोताओ! बैठो और शुद्ध होते हुए सोम के लिए स्तुतियां गाओ. जैसे मां-बाप बच्चें को आभूषण आदि से सजाते हैं, उसी प्रकार यज्ञयोग्य हव्यों से सोम को सजाओ. (१)
EN English Translation
This friend, Stotao! Sit down and sing praises to Mon while being cleansed. Just as parents decorate the children with ornaments, etc., decorate the som with sacrificial havyas. (1)
समी॑ व॒त्सं न मा॒तृभिः॑ सृ॒जता॑ गय॒साध॑नम् । दे॒वा॒व्यं१॒॑ मद॑म॒भि द्विश॑वसम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! घर देने वाले, देवों के रक्षक, नशा करने वाले एवं परम शक्तिशाली सोम को मातारूप जल से इस प्रकार मिलाओ, जैसे बछड़े को गाय के पास ले जाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! The givers of the house, the protectors of the gods, the drunkards and the most powerful som, mix the som with matarup water as if they take the calf to the cow. (2)
पु॒नाता॑ दक्ष॒साध॑नं॒ यथा॒ शर्धा॑य वी॒तये॑ । यथा॑ मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय॒ शंत॑मः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! शक्ति देने वाले सोम को दशापवित्र द्वारा शुद्ध करो. सोम वेग, देवों के रसपान और मित्रावरुण की सुखप्राप्ति के साधन हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Purify the power-giving Mon with the dashapavittra. Som vega is the means of rasapan of the gods and the happiness of Mitravrun. (3)
अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ त्वा वसु॒विद॑म॒भि वाणी॑रनूषत । गोभि॑ष्टे॒ वर्ण॑म॒भि वा॑सयामसि ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनदाता सोम! हमारी वाणी इसलिए तुम्हारी स्तुति करती है कि तुम हमें धन दो. हम तुम्हारे फेलने वाले रस को गाय के दूध के साथ मिलाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O rich man Mon! Our voice praises you so that you give us money. We mix your fading juice with cow's milk. (4)
स नो॑ मदानां पत॒ इन्दो॑ दे॒वप्स॑रा असि । सखे॑व॒ सख्ये॑ गातु॒वित्त॑मो भव ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मदस्वामी सोम! तुम्हारा रूप दीप्त है. जैसे एक मित्र दूसरे मित्र को सच्चा मार्ग बताता है, उसी प्रकार तुम हमें मार्ग बताने वाले बनो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Madaswami Mon! Your appearance is bright. Just as one friend tells another friend the true way, so be the one who tells us the way. (5)
सने॑मि कृ॒ध्य१॒॑स्मदा र॒क्षसं॒ कं चि॑द॒त्रिण॑म् । अपादे॑वं द्व॒युमंहो॑ युयोधि नः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम हमारे साथ पुरानी मित्रता निभाओ. तुम अधिक खाने वाले, नम्रतारहित एवं बाहरी-भीतरी माया वाले राक्षस को मारो और हमारे पापों से युद्ध करो. (६)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You make an old friendship with us. You kill the demon of over-eating, uneekly, and external-inner maya, and fight our sins. (6)
