अ॒यं सोम॑ इन्द्र॒ तुभ्यं॑ सुन्वे॒ तुभ्यं॑ पवते॒ त्वम॑स्य पाहि । त्वं ह॒ यं च॑कृ॒षे त्वं व॑वृ॒ष इन्दुं॒ मदा॑य॒ युज्या॑य॒ सोम॑म् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यह सोम तुम्हारे लिए निचोड़े और छाने जाते हैं. तुम इन्हें पिओ. तुम जिस सोम को बनाते हो व वरण करते हो, उसीको मदप्राप्ति और सहायता के लिए पिओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! This mon go squeezed and sifted for you. You drink them. Drink the mon you make and choose for help and receive the item. (1)
स ईं॒ रथो॒ न भु॑रि॒षाळ॑योजि म॒हः पु॒रूणि॑ सा॒तये॒ वसू॑नि । आदीं॒ विश्वा॑ नहु॒ष्या॑णि जा॒ता स्व॑र्षाता॒ वन॑ ऊ॒र्ध्वा न॑वन्त ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
लोग बहुत सा धन लाने के लिए रथ के समान भार ढोने वाले महान् सोम को रथ के समान ही जीतते हैं. युद्ध के अभिलाषी मनुष्य महान् धन देने वाले सोम को संग्राम में ले जाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
People win the Great Mon, who carries the same weight as a chariot, to bring a lot of money, just like a chariot. The man who aspires to war takes the great wealth-giving Mon into the battle. (2)
वा॒युर्न यो नि॒युत्वा॑ँ इ॒ष्टया॑मा॒ नास॑त्येव॒ हव॒ आ शम्भ॑विष्ठः । वि॒श्ववा॑रो द्रविणो॒दा इ॑व॒ त्मन्पू॒षेव॑ धी॒जव॑नोऽसि सोम ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम वायु के समान अश्चों वाले तथा मनचाहे स्थान पर जाने वाले, अश्वरिनीकुमारों के समान पुकार सुनते ही सबको सुख देने वाले, धन देने वाले के समान सबके वरणीय एवं सूर्य के समान मनोवेग वाले हो. (३)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You are as diverse as the wind and the one who goes to the desired place, when you hear the call like ashwarinikumars, and you are the one who gives happiness to all, the giver of wealth, the one who is as diverse as the sun, and the same as the sun. (3)
इन्द्रो॒ न यो म॒हा कर्मा॑णि॒ चक्रि॑र्ह॒न्ता वृ॒त्राणा॑मसि सोम पू॒र्भित् । पै॒द्वो न हि त्वमहि॑नाम्नां ह॒न्ता विश्व॑स्यासि सोम॒ दस्योः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुमने इंद्र के समान महान् कर्म किए हैं. तुम शत्रुओं के नाशक एवं उनके नगरों को तोड़ने वाले हो. तुम अहिवंश के लोगों को घोड़े के समान जल्दी आकर मारते हो. तुम सब शत्रुओं को मारने वाले हो. (४)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You have done great deeds like Indra. You are the destroyers of enemies and break their cities. You come and kill the people of Ahivansh as quickly as a horse. You're going to kill all the enemies. (4)
अ॒ग्निर्न यो वन॒ आ सृ॒ज्यमा॑नो॒ वृथा॒ पाजां॑सि कृणुते न॒दीषु॑ । जनो॒ न युध्वा॑ मह॒त उ॑प॒ब्दिरिय॑र्ति॒ सोमः॒ पव॑मान ऊ॒र्मिम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस तरह अग्नि वन में उत्पन्न होकर अपनी शक्ति दिखाते हैं, उसी तरह सोम जल में पैदा होकर अपना बल दिखाते हैं. सोम युद्ध करने वाले वीर के समान शत्रु के पास भयंकर शब्द करते हुए अधिक रस को प्रेरित करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Just as agni shows his power by being born in the forest, so som is born in water and shows his strength. The soms inspire more rasa by making fierce words to the enemy like the warr. (5)
ए॒ते सोमा॒ अति॒ वारा॒ण्यव्या॑ दि॒व्या न कोशा॑सो अ॒भ्रव॑र्षाः । वृथा॑ समु॒द्रं सिन्ध॑वो॒ न नीचीः॑ सु॒तासो॑ अ॒भि क॒लशा॑ँ असृग्रन् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जैसे अंतरिक्ष से बरसने वाली मेघवर्षा एवं नदियां अपने-आप नीचे की ओर जाती हैं, उसी प्रकार यह छनते हुए सोम भेड़ के बालों से बने दशापवित्र को पार करके द्रोणकलश की ओर जाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Just as the clouds and rivers that rain from space automatically go down, so do these filtering mons cross the dashapavittra made of sheep's hair and go towards Dronakalash. (6)
शु॒ष्मी शर्धो॒ न मारु॑तं पव॒स्वान॑भिशस्ता दि॒व्या यथा॒ विट् । आपो॒ न म॒क्षू सु॑म॒तिर्भ॑वा नः स॒हस्रा॑प्साः पृतना॒षाण्न य॒ज्ञः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली सोम! तुम मरुतों की शक्ति के समान टपको. तुम स्वर्ग की प्रजाओं के समान अनिद्रित रूप से बहो एवं जल के समान हमें शीघ्र मुक्ति दो. हे अनेक रूपों वाले सोम! तुम सेना को जीतने वाले इंद्र के समान यज्ञ के पात्र हो. (७)
EN English Translation
O mighty Mon! You seep like the power of the maruts. You flow unobstructedly like the people of heaven and deliver us as soon as water. O Mon with many forms! You deserve the same yagna as Indra, who conquered the army. (7)
राज्ञो॒ नु ते॒ वरु॑णस्य व्र॒तानि॑ बृ॒हद्ग॑भी॒रं तव॑ सोम॒ धाम॑ । शुचि॒ष्ट्वम॑सि प्रि॒यो न मि॒त्रो द॒क्षाय्यो॑ अर्य॒मेवा॑सि सोम ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! मैं तुम्हारे यज्ञकर्मो को राजा वरुण के समान शीघ्र करता हूं. तुम्हारा तेज विशाल एवं गंभीर है. तुम प्रिय मित्र के समान शुचि हो एवं अर्यमादेव के समान पूज्य हो. (८)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! I do your yajnakarmas as soon as king Varuna. Your speed is huge and serious. You are pure as a dear friend and as revered as Aryamadeva. (8)
