जनस्य गोपा अजनिष्ट जागृविरग्निः सुदक्षः सुविताय नव्यसे । घृतप्रतीको बृहता दिविस्पृषा द्युमद्वि भाति भरतेभ्यः शुचिः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप प्रजा के रक्षक, जाग्रत करने वाले व कुशलता प्रदान करने वाले हैं. आप यजमान को उन्नति के पथ पर अग्रसर करने के लिए प्रकट होते हैं. आप घी की आहुति से प्रज्वलित होते हैं. आप विराट् (असीम) आकाश तक अपनी पहुंच रखते हैं. आप पवित्र व क्षमतावान हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक को स्पर्श करते हैं तथा यजमानों के कल्याण के लिए प्रकाशित होते हैं. EN English Translation
O agni! You are the protector, awakener and skill giver of the people. You appear to guide the host on the path of progress. You are ignited by the offering of ghee. You have access to the vast (limitless) sky. You are pure and capable. You touch heaven and are illuminated for the welfare of hosts. (1)
त्वामग्ने अङ्गिरसो गुहा हितमन्वविन्दञ्छिश्रियाणं वनेवने । स जायसे मथ्यमानः सहो महत्वामाहुः सहसस्पुत्रमङ्गिरः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! अंगिरस ऋषि ने आप को खोजा. उस से पहले आप छिपे हुए थे. आप वृक्ष और वनस्पति में छिप कर (गुप्त रूप में) रहते हैं. आप को इसीलिए अंगिर (क्षमतावान) कहा जाता है. आप को सामर्थ्य का पुत्र माना जाता है. आप को अरणि मंथन से प्रकट किया जाता है. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Sage Angiras discovered you. Before that you were hiding. You live (in secret) hidden in trees and vegetation. That is why you are called Angir (capable). You are considered the son of power. You are revealed by arani manthan. (2)
यज्ञस्य केतुं प्रथमं पुरोहितमग्निं नरस्त्रिषधस्थे समिन्धते । इन्द्रेण देवैः सरथँ स बर्हिषि सीदन्नि होता यजथाय सुक्रतुः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप देवताओं के साथ रथ पर विराजते हैं. आप के रथ पर यज्ञ की पताका फहराती है. यजमान घर, मन और यज्ञ इन तीन स्थानों पर (विशेष रूप से) आप को प्रकट करते हैं. आप श्रेष्ठ कामों में लगे रहते हैं. यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान के लिए आप यज्ञ स्थान में प्रतिष्ठित होते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You sit on the chariot with the gods. The flag of yajna hoists on your chariot. The host house, mind and yajna reveal to you (especially) at these three places. You are engaged in the best works. For the yajna host, you are revered in the yajna place. (3)
अयं वां मित्रावरुणा सुतः सोम ऋतावृधा । ममेदिह श्रुतँ हवम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र! हे वरुण! आप यज्ञ की बढ़ोतरी करते हैं. विधिवत परिष्कृत किया सोमरस आप दोनों देवों के सेवन के लिए प्रस्तुत है. आप दोनों हमारे इस निवेदन को सुनने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
Hey friend! O Varuna! You increase the yajna. Duly refined Somerus is presented to you for the consumption of both gods. Please both of you to listen to our request. (4)
राजानावनभिद्रुहा ध्रुवे सदस्युत्तमे । सहस्रस्थूण आशाते ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र! हे वरुण! आप कभी भी परस्पर (आपस में) द्रोह नहीं करते. यज्ञ मंडप हजारों खंभों के सहारे बनाया गया है. वह यज्ञ मंडप स्थिर और सशक्त है. आप दोनों उस यज्ञ मंडप में विराजने की कृपा कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey friend! O Varuna! You never treason each other. The Yagya Mandap is built with the help of thousands of pillars. That Yajna Mandap is stable and strong. Please both of you to sit in that Yagya Mandap. (5)
ता सम्राजा घृतासुती आदित्या दानुनस्पती । सचेते अनवह्वरम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! मित्र और वरुण आहुति के रूप में भेंट किए गए घी का ही आहार लेते हैं. दोनों देव सम्राट् हैं, ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी हैं, समान वित्त वाले हैं. वे यजमानों की अनवरत (लगातार) सहायता करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Friends and Varun take the diet of ghee offered as ahuti. Both gods are emperors, masters of opulence, have equal finances. They help the hosts relentlessly. (6)
इन्द्रो दधीचो अस्थभिर्वृत्राण्यप्रतिष्कुतः । जघान नवतीर्नव ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र वैभववान हैं. सभी देवता उन का आदर करते हैं. उन्होंने दधीचि ऋषि द्वारा दान की गई हड्डियों से बने शस्त्र से निन्यानवे शत्रुओं को मारा. (७)
EN English Translation
Indra is brilliant. All gods respect him. He killed ninety-nine enemies with a weapon made from bones donated by Dadhichi Rishi. (7)
इच्छन्नश्वस्य यच्छिरः पर्वतेष्वपश्रितम् । तद्विदच्छर्यणावति ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र पर्वतपति हैं. बादलों में छिपी अश्वशक्ति को उन्होंने प्रकटाया. आर्यो का विरोध करने वाली शक्तियों को छिन्रविच्छिन्न किया. (८)
EN English Translation
Indra is a mountaineer. He showed the horsepower hidden in the clouds. The forces opposing the Aryans were taken away. (8)
अत्राह गोरमन्वत नाम त्वष्टुरपीच्यम् । इत्था चन्द्रमसो गृहे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! सूर्य निरंतर गतिमान हैं. वे चंद्रमंडल में भले ही दिखाई न दें परंतु मौजूद रहते हैं. इस प्रकार वे चंद्रमा के घर में रहते हैं. तात्पर्य यह है कि न केवल दिन में बल्कि रात्रि में भी सूर्य की किरणें प्रकाशित रहती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O hosts! The sun is constantly moving. They may not be visible in the lunar system but are present. Thus they live in the house of the moon. This means that the sun's rays are illuminated not only during the day but also at night. (9)
इयं वामस्य मन्मन इन्द्राग्नी पूर्व्यस्तुतिः । अभ्राद्वृष्टिरिवाजनि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हे इंद्र! उत्तम कोटि के विद्वान् आप दोनों देवों की उपासना करते हैं. आप के लिए की गई प्रार्थना वैसे ही सहस्र रूप से (बुद्धि में) उपजती है, जैसे बादलों के भीतर से बरसात उपजती है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! O Indra! The best quality scholars worship both of you gods. The prayer for you is born in the same way (in the intellect), just as rain comes from within the clouds. (10)
शृणुतं जरितुर्हवमिन्द्राग्नी वनतं गिरः । ईशाना पिप्यतं धियः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हे इंद्र! यजमान आप दोनों देवताओं की उपासना व हवि समर्पित करते हैं. आप उसे स्वीकारने की कृपा कीजिए. आप उन की वाणी (पुकार) सुनिए. आप बुद्धि के ईश्वर हैं. आप उन्हें उन की मेहनत का फल प्रदान कीजिए. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! O Indra! The host worships and dedicates the worship and worship of both of you gods. Please accept it. Listen to their voice. You are the God of wisdom. You give them the fruits of their hard work. (11)
मा पापत्वाय नो नरेन्द्राग्नी माभिशस्तये । मा नो रीरधतं निदे ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हे इंद्र! आप नेता व उन्नतिकारक हैं. आप हमें पाप व मारधाड़ (हिंसा) से बचाइए. आप हमें निंदनीय कार्यो से दूर रखें. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni! O Indra! You are a leader and a progressive. You save us from sin and violence. You keep us away from condemnable acts. (12)
