स सुतः पीतये वृषा सोमः पवित्रे अर्षति । विघ्नन्रक्षाँसि देवयुः ॥ (१)

सोम विघ्नों को नष्ट करने वाले व दिव्य गुणों से भरपूर हैं. इन्हें इंद्र आदि देवों के लिए छलनी से छान कर तैयार किया गया है. (१)
EN English Translation
Soma is full of divine qualities and destroys obstacles. They have been prepared by filtering with a sieve for Indra etc. gods. (1)
स पवित्रे विचक्षणो हरिरर्षति धर्णसिः । अभि योनिं कनिक्रदत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस पवित्र, विलक्षण, हरा व सब को धारण करने वाला है. वह छलनी से छनते समय आवाज करता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Someras is pure, unique, green and possesses all. He makes a sound while filtering with a sieve. (2)
स वाजी रोचना दिवः पवमानो वि धावति । रक्षोहा वारमव्ययम् ॥ (३)

सोमरस शक्तिमान है. स्वर्गलोक को चमकाता है और दुष्टों का नाश करता है. वह दिव्य है और छनता हुआ लगातार प्रवाहित होता रहता है. (३)
EN English Translation
Somers is powerful. He shines heaven and destroys the wicked. He is divine and continues to flow. (3)
स त्रितस्याधि सानवि पवमानो अरोचयत् । जामिभिः सूर्यँ सह ॥ (४)

सोम अपने तेज से सूर्य के साथ प्रकाशित होते हैं. त्रितयज्ञ (प्रकृति, प्राणी और आकाश के बीच आदानप्रदान पूर्ण यज्ञ) में विधिविधान से सुशोभित होते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Som are illuminated with the sun with its brightness. In the Trityagya (full yajna exchange between nature, creature and sky), they are adorned with law. (4)
स वृत्रहा वृषा सुतो वरिवोविददाभ्यः । सोमो वाजमिवासरत् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम शत्रुनाशक, शक्तिवर्धक व धनदाता हैं. निचोड़ कर निकाले जाते समय ये घोड़े के समान वेगवान हो कर घड़े में प्रवेश करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Som is an enemy destroyer, powerful and a wealth giver. While being squeezed and removed, they enter the pitcher as fast as a horse. (5)
स देवः कविनेषितो३ऽभि द्रोणानि धावति । इन्दुरिन्द्राय मँहयन् ॥ (६)

सोम इंद्र और अन्य देवों का महत्त्व बढ़ाते हैं. सोमयज्ञ करने वाले यजमान उन्हें वेग से कलश में प्रवाहित करते हैं और स्वर्गलोक में प्रकाशित होते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Soma increases the importance of Indra and other gods. The hosts who perform somayagya flow them rapidly in the kalash and are illuminated in heaven. (6)
