पवस्व मधुमत्तम इन्द्राय सोम क्रतुवित्तमो मदः । महि द्युक्षतमो मदः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप अत्यंत मधुर हैं. आप यज्ञ के बारे में सब कुछ जानने वाले हैं. आप सर्वोत्तम, प्रकाशमान व तेजस्वी हैं. आप इंद्र को आनंद देने के लिए पवित्र होइए. (१)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are extremely sweet. You are going to know everything about yajna. You are the best, brightest and the brightest. You be holy to give joy to Indra. (1)
अभि द्युम्नं बृहद्यश इषस्पते दिदीहि देव देवयुम् । वि कोशं मध्यमं युव ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप अन्न के स्वामी, प्रकाशमान, स्तुति व देवताओं के पीने (पाने) योग्य हैं. आप हमें यश और बल दीजिए. आप द्रोणकलशों को लबालब भर दीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are the swami of food, the light, praise and the drink of the gods. You give us fame and strength. You fill the dronakalash. (2)
आ सोता परि षिञ्चताश्वं न स्तोममप्तुरँ रजस्तुरम् । वनप्रक्षमुदप्रुतम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! सोम घोड़े जैसे वेगवान व स्तुति करने योग्य हैं. वे पानी की तरह प्रवहमान (बहने वाले) हैं तथा प्रकाश की किरणों की तरह कहीं भी शीघ्र पहुंचने वाले हैं. आप सोमरस को निचोड़िए और उसी में जल मिलाइए. उस के बाद उसे गो दूध से सींचिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Som is as fast and praiseworthy as a horse. They are flowing like water and are going to reach anywhere quickly like rays of light. You squeeze the somers and add water to it. After that, irrigate it with go milk. (3)
एतमु त्यं मदच्युतँ सहस्रधारं वृषभं दिवोदुहम् । विश्वा वसूनि बिभ्रतम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस प्रसन्नतादायी है, कई धाराओं से ट्रोणकलश में झरता है, शक्ति बढ़ाने वाला है तथा सभी धनों का स्वामी है. विद्वान् यजमान सोमरस निचोड़ते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Someras is happy, flows through many streams, is a power enhancer and is the swami of all wealth. The learned host squeezes someras. (4)
स सुन्वे यो वसूनां यो रायामानेता य इडानाम् । सोमो यः सुक्षितीनाम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम धन, दूध आदि रस व शक्ति के स्वामी हैं. ये श्रेष्ठ संतान देने वाले हैं. यजमान श्रेष्ठ सोमरस निचोड़ते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Som is the swami of wealth, milk etc. juice and power. They are the best child givers. The host squeezes the best somers. (5)
त्वँ ह्या३ङ्ग दैव्या पवमान जनिमानि द्युमत्तमः । अमृतत्वाय घोषयन् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप पवित्र, पूजनीय व प्रकाशवान हैं. आप देवताओं के बारे में सब कुछ जानते हैं. आप उन की अमरता की घोषणा करते हैं. आप यजमान से उन की स्तुति कराते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are pure, revered and enlightened. You know everything about the gods. You declare the immortality of them. You make the host praise them. (6)
एष स्य धारया सुतोऽव्यो वारेभिः पवते मदिन्तमः । क्रीडन्नूर्मिरपामिव ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम अत्यंत आनंददायी हैं. ये जल की लहरों की तरह खेलतेकूदते हैं. सोमरस को भेड़ के बालों से बनी छलनी से कलश में धार बना कर छाना जाता है. (७)
EN English Translation
Som is extremely enjoyable. They play like waves of water. Someras is filtered by making a edge in the urn with a sieve made of sheep's hair. (7)
य उस्रिया अपि या अन्तरश्मनि निर्गा अकृन्तदोजसा । अभि व्रजं तत्निषे गव्यमश्व्यं वर्मीव धृष्णवा रुज । ॐ वर्मीव धृष्णवा रुज ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम बादलों में जल को छिन्नभिन्न करते हैं. वे बादल फैलाने वाले और जल को धारण करने वाले हैं. वे राक्षसों द्वारा हरे गए गायों और घोड़ों को घेर लेते हैं. वे शत्रुनाशक हैं. कवचधारी वीर के समान सोम शत्रुओं को मार देते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Som scatters water in clouds. They are cloud-spreaders and water-holding. They surround cows and horses greened by demons. They are enemies. Like the armored hero, Soma kills the enemies. (8)
