अग्न॒ आ या॑ह्य॒ग्निभि॒र्होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे । आ त्वाम॑नक्तु॒ प्रय॑ता ह॒विष्म॑ती॒ यजि॑ष्ठं ब॒र्हिरा॒सदे॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ के योग्य अन्य अग्नियों के साथ आओ. हम होता के रूप में तुम्हारा वरण करते हैं. अध्वर्युजनों द्वारा हाथों में उठाया गया एवं घृतपूर्ण खुच तुम्हें कुशों पर सब ओर बैठावे. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You come with other agnis worthy of yajna. We choose you as we would. May the cowards, raised in their hands and disgusted, make you sit all over the kushas. (1)
अच्छा॒ हि त्वा॑ सहसः सूनो अङ्गिरः॒ स्रुच॒श्चर॑न्त्यध्व॒रे । ऊ॒र्जो नपा॑तं घृ॒तके॑शमीमहे॒ऽग्निं य॒ज्ञेषु॑ पू॒र्व्यम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बल के पुत्र एवं अंगिरागोत्रीय अग्नि! यज्ञ में तुम्हें प्राप्त करने के लिए खुच चलते हैं. हम पालनकर्ता, प्रदीप्त ज्वाला वाले एवं प्राचीन अग्नि की यज्ञ में स्तुति करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O son of force and agni! Let's go to get you in the yajna. We praise the sustainer, the illuminated flame and the ancient agni in the yagna. (2)
अग्ने॑ क॒विर्वे॒धा अ॑सि॒ होता॑ पावक॒ यक्ष्यः॑ । म॒न्द्रो यजि॑ष्ठो अध्व॒रेष्वीड्यो॒ विप्रे॑भिः शुक्र॒ मन्म॑भिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम मेधावी, कर्मफलों का निर्माण करने वाले, पवित्रकर्तता, देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं यज्ञ के योग्य हो. हे दीप्त अग्नि! तुम प्रसन्न करने योग्य, अतिशय यज्ञपात्र एवं यज्ञों में मेधावी ऋत्विजों द्वारा मननीय स्तोत्रों द्वारा स्तुति करने योग्य हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are meritorious, the creator of the fruits of karma, the purity, the caller of the gods and the worthy of yajna. O bright agni! You are worthy of pleasing, very important yagyapatra and praiseworthy of the meritorious ritvijas in the yajnas through the considered stotras. (3)
अद्रो॑घ॒मा व॑होश॒तो य॑विष्ठ्य दे॒वाँ अ॑जस्र वी॒तये॑ । अ॒भि प्रयां॑सि॒ सुधि॒ता व॑सो गहि॒ मन्द॑स्व धी॒तिभि॑र्हि॒तः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय युवा एवं नित्य अग्नि! मुझ द्रोहशून्य यजमान की अभिलाषा करने वाले देवों को हव्यभक्षण के लिए लाओ. हे निवासस्थान देने वाले अग्नि! सुनिहित अन्नों को लेकर आओ एवं स्तुतियों द्वारा स्थापित होकर प्रसन्न बनो. (४)
EN English Translation
O very young and eternal agni! Bring the gods who desire me to be the disobedient host for lust. O agni that gives you the place of residence! Bring the well-nourished grains and be happy to be established by praises. (4)
त्वमित्स॒प्रथा॑ अ॒स्यग्ने॑ त्रातरृ॒तस्क॒विः । त्वां विप्रा॑सः समिधान दीदिव॒ आ वि॑वासन्ति वे॒धसः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम रक्षक, सच्चे, अधिक बुद्धिमान् एवं सभी प्रकार विशाल हो. हे भली प्रकार दीप्त अग्नि! मेधावी स्तोता तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are protector, truer, more intelligent and vast in all respects. O beautiful agni! Meritorious hymns serve you. (5)
शोचा॑ शोचिष्ठ दीदि॒हि वि॒शे मयो॒ रास्व॑ स्तो॒त्रे म॒हाँ अ॑सि । दे॒वानां॒ शर्म॒न्मम॑ सन्तु सू॒रयः॑ शत्रू॒षाहः॑ स्व॒ग्नयः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय पवित्र अग्नि! तुम स्वयं दीप्त बनो एवं हमें दीप्त बनाओ तथा प्रजा और स्तोता को सुख दो. तुम महान् हो. मेरे स्तोता देवों द्वारा दिया हुआ सुख प्राप्त करें एवं शोभन अग्नि वाले बनें. (६)
EN English Translation
O very holy agni! You yourself become deep and make us deep and give happiness to the people and the psalms. You are great. Get the happiness given by my stota devas and become shobhan agni wale. (6)
यथा॑ चिद्वृ॒द्धम॑त॒समग्ने॑ सं॒जूर्व॑सि॒ क्षमि॑ । ए॒वा द॑ह मित्रमहो॒ यो अ॑स्म॒ध्रुग्दु॒र्मन्मा॒ कश्च॒ वेन॑ति ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्रों के पूजक अग्नि! तुम धरती पर जिस प्रकार सूखे काठ को जलाते हो, उसी प्रकार जो हमारा द्रोही है एवं जो हमारे प्रति दुष्ट बुद्धि रखता है, उसे जलाओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O worshiper of friends, agni! Just as you burn dry wood on the earth, burn him who is our enemy and who has evil intelligence towards us. (7)
मा नो॒ मर्ता॑य रि॒पवे॑ रक्ष॒स्विने॒ माघशं॑साय रीरधः । अस्रे॑धद्भिस्त॒रणि॑भिर्यविष्ठ्य शि॒वेभिः॑ पाहि पा॒युभिः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय युवा अग्नि! हमें शक्तिशाली शत्रु मानव एवं अनिष्ट चाहने वाले के वश में मत करना. तुम हिंसारहित, तारने वाले एवं सुखकर पालनोपायों द्वारा हमारी रक्षा करो. (८)
EN English Translation
O very young agni! Do not subdue us by powerful enemies human beings and evil seekers. Protect us through violence-free, tearful and happy cradles. (8)
पा॒हि नो॑ अग्न॒ एक॑या पा॒ह्यु१॒॑त द्वि॒तीय॑या । पा॒हि गी॒र्भिस्ति॒सृभि॑रूर्जां पते पा॒हि च॑त॒सृभि॑र्वसो ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्ति के स्वामी एवं निवासस्थान देने वाले अग्नि! पहली, दूसरी, तीसरी एवं चौथी ऋचा से प्रसन्न होकर हमारी रक्षा करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Lord of Power and The Giver of Dwelling Fire! Protect us by being happy with the first, second, third and fourth richa. (9)
पा॒हि विश्व॑स्माद्र॒क्षसो॒ अरा॑व्णः॒ प्र स्म॒ वाजे॑षु नोऽव । त्वामिद्धि नेदि॑ष्ठं दे॒वता॑तय आ॒पिं नक्षा॑महे वृ॒धे ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! सभी राक्षसों एवं दानरहित लोगों से हमारी रक्षा करो तथा हमें युद्ध में शत्रुओं से बचाओ. हे समीपतम एवं बंधु अग्नि! हम यज्ञसिद्धि एवं आत्मवृद्धि के लिए तुम्हारा यजन करते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! Protect us from all demons and unsung people and save us from enemies in war. O nearest and dearest agni! We worship you for yajna siddhi and self-growth. (10)
आ नो॑ अग्ने वयो॒वृधं॑ र॒यिं पा॑वक॒ शंस्य॑म् । रास्वा॑ च न उपमाते पुरु॒स्पृहं॒ सुनी॑ती॒ स्वय॑शस्तरम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पवित्र करने वाले अग्नि! हमें अन्न बढ़ाने वाला एवं प्रशंसनीय धन दो. हे समीपवर्ती एवं संपत्तिरूप अग्नि! हमें अपने शोभन नेतृत्व द्वारा ऐसा धन दो जो बहुतों द्वारा चाहने योग्य एवं अतिशय कीर्ति देने वाला हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O holy agni! Give us food-enhancing and praiseworthy money. O nearby and property-like agni! Give us money through your shobhan leadership that is desirable and very prestigious by many. (11)
येन॒ वंसा॑म॒ पृत॑नासु॒ शर्ध॑त॒स्तर॑न्तो अ॒र्य आ॒दिशः॑ । स त्वं नो॑ वर्ध॒ प्रय॑सा शचीवसो॒ जिन्वा॒ धियो॑ वसु॒विदः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हमें वह धन दो, जिसकी सहायता से हम युद्ध में वेगशाली शत्रुओं एवं शस्त्र फेंकने वालों को जीतें एवं उन्हें मारें. हे बुद्धि द्वारा निवासस्थान देने वाले अग्नि! हमें बढ़ाओ एवं हमारे धन देने वाले यज्ञों को पूरा करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Give us the money with the help of which we win and kill the strong enemies and weapons throwers in the war. O agni that gives you the place of residence by wisdom! Increase us and complete our money-giving sacrifices. (12)
शिशा॑नो वृष॒भो य॑था॒ग्निः शृङ्गे॒ दवि॑ध्वत् । ति॒ग्मा अ॑स्य॒ हन॑वो॒ न प्र॑ति॒धृषे॑ सु॒जम्भः॒ सह॑सो य॒हुः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि बैल के समान अपने सींग बढ़ाते हुए ज्वालाओं को कंपित करते हैं. अग्नि की ठोड़ीरूपी ज्वालाएं तीखी हैं. इन्हें कोई रोक नहीं सकता. बलपुत्र अग्नि के दांत शोभन हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Fire staggers the flames while extending their horns like bulls. The flames of the chin of agni are sharp. No one can stop them. The teeth of Balputra Agni are Shobhan. (13)
न॒हि ते॑ अग्ने वृषभ प्रति॒धृषे॒ जम्भा॑सो॒ यद्वि॒तिष्ठ॑से । स त्वं नो॑ होतः॒ सुहु॑तं ह॒विष्कृ॑धि॒ वंस्वा॑ नो॒ वार्या॑ पु॒रु ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अभिलाषापूरक अग्नि! तुम्हारे दांतों के समान ज्वालाओं को कोई रोक नहीं सकता, इसलिए तुम बढ़ते हो. हे होता अग्नि! तुम हमारे हव्य का भली प्रकार हवन करो एवं हमें वरण करने योग्य धन अधिक मात्रा में दो. (१४)
EN English Translation
This is the agni! No one can stop the flames like your teeth, so you grow. It was agni! You should perform havan of our desire and give us more money to choose. (14)
शेषे॒ वने॑षु मा॒त्रोः सं त्वा॒ मर्ता॑स इन्धते । अत॑न्द्रो ह॒व्या व॑हसि हवि॒ष्कृत॒ आदिद्दे॒वेषु॑ राजसि ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! अरणियां तुम्हारी माताएं हैं. उनके भीतर रहकर तुम वनों में सोते हो. मनुष्य तुम्हें भली प्रकार जलाते हैं. तुम आलस्यरहित होकर हव्यदाता यजमान के कल्याण के लिए देवों को पास ले आओ तथा उनके बीच सुशोभित बनो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O agni! Arans are your mothers. Living within them, you sleep in the forests. Humans burn you well. Be lazy and bring the gods to the gods for the welfare of the faithful host and be adorned among them. (15)
स॒प्त होता॑र॒स्तमिदी॑ळते॒ त्वाग्ने॑ सु॒त्यज॒मह्र॑यम् । भि॒नत्स्यद्रिं॒ तप॑सा॒ वि शो॒चिषा॒ प्राग्ने॑ तिष्ठ॒ जना॒ँ अति॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अभिमत देने वाले, क्षीणतारहित एवं अपने तापपूर्ण तेज से मेघ को छिन्न-भिन्न करने वाले अग्नि! सात स्तोता तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. तुम मनुष्यों को लांघकर हमारे पास आओ. (१६)
EN English Translation
O agni that gives opinion, is weak and shatters the cloud with its warmest! The seven psalms praise you. You cross the human beings and come to us. (16)
अ॒ग्निम॑ग्निं वो॒ अध्रि॑गुं हु॒वेम॑ वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषः । अ॒ग्निं हि॒तप्र॑यसः शश्व॒तीष्वा होता॑रं चर्षणी॒नाम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! कुश छिन्न करने वाले एवं हव्य डालने वाले हम तुम्हारे लिए अग्नि को बुलाते हैं. अग्नि सर्वदा घर में वर्तमान, होता एवं सब प्रजाओं के यज्ञकर्मो को धारण करने वाले हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O hosts! We, who break the kush and remove the lust, call agni for you. Fire is always present in the house, and he is going to wear the sacrifice of all the subjects. (17)
केते॑न॒ शर्म॑न्सचते सुषा॒मण्यग्ने॒ तुभ्यं॑ चिकि॒त्वना॑ । इ॒ष॒ण्यया॑ नः पुरु॒रूप॒मा भ॑र॒ वाजं॒ नेदि॑ष्ठमू॒तये॑ ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यजमान शोभन सामवेद वाले एवं सुखसाधन यज्ञ में बुद्धिमान् मनुष्यों से मिलकर स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रशंसा करते हैं. तुम हमारी रक्षा के लिए अपनी इच्छा से समीप में वर्तमान एवं अनेक रूपों वाले अन्न लाओ. (१८)
EN English Translation
O agni! The host shobhan samaveda wale and sukhsadhan yagya meet intelligent human beings and praise them with praises. You bring present and many forms of food nearby with your own will to protect us. (18)
अग्ने॒ जरि॑तर्वि॒श्पति॑स्तेपा॒नो दे॑व र॒क्षसः॑ । अप्रो॑षिवान्गृ॒हप॑तिर्म॒हाँ अ॑सि दि॒वस्पा॒युर्दु॑रोण॒युः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तुति योग्य अग्नि देव! तुम प्रजापालक, राक्षसों को कष्ट देने वाले. यजमान के घर के रक्षक, गृहस्वामी, महान् एवं ्युलोक का पालन करने वाले हो. तुम यजमान के घर में सदा रहते हो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O God of praise! You are the people, the one who hurts the demons. The protector of the host's house, the householder, the great and the one who follows the world. You always live in the host's house. (19)
मा नो॒ रक्ष॒ आ वे॑शीदाघृणीवसो॒ मा या॒तुर्या॑तु॒माव॑ताम् । प॒रो॒ग॒व्यू॒त्यनि॑रा॒मप॒ क्षुध॒मग्ने॒ सेध॑ रक्ष॒स्विनः॑ ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दीप्तिरूपी धन वाले अग्नि! हमारे भीतर राक्षस एवं पीड़ा का प्रवेश न हो. अन्नाभाव एवं बलवान् राक्षसों को हमसे दूर रखो. (२०)
EN English Translation
O agni of radiant wealth! Do not enter us with demons and suffering. Keep the demons and strong demons away from us. (20)
