महाँ इन्द्रो य ओजसा पर्जन्यो वृष्टिमाँ इव. स्तोमैर्वत्सस्य वावृधे. (१)

वर्षा करने वाले मेघ के समान महान् शक्ति वाले इंद्र पुत्रतुल्य स्तोता की स्तुतियों से बढ़ते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra, who has the same great power as the raining cloud, grows with praises of the son-in-law Stota. (1)
प्रजामृतस्य पिप्रतः प्र यद्भरन्त वह्लयः. विप्रा ऋतस्य वाहसा.. (२)

आकाश को पूर्ण करने वाले घोड़े जिस समय इंद्र को वहन करते हैं, उस समय विद्वान् स्तोता यज्ञधारण करने वाले स्तोत्रं द्वारा इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
At the time when the horses that complete the sky carry Indra, the learned stotha praises Indra through the hymns who perform the yajnadharna. (2)
कण्वा इन्द्रं यदक्रत स्तोमैर्यज्ञस्य साधनम्, जामि ब्रुवत आयुधम्. (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कण्वगोत्रीय ऋषियों ने स्तोत्रों द्वारा इंद्र को यज्ञ का साधन बनाया है. इसीलिए उन्हें यज्ञ का भाई कहा जाता है. (३)
EN English Translation
The Kanvagotriya sages have made Indra a means of yajna through hymns. That is why he is called the brother of yajna. (3)
समस्य मन्यवे विशो विश्वा नमन्त कृष्टयः. समुद्रायेव सिन्धवः. (४)

इंद्र के क्रोध से भयभीत होकर सभी प्रजाएं इंद्र को इस प्रकार प्रणाम करती हैं, जिस प्रकार नदियां सागर के सामने झुकती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Fearing Indra's anger, all the people worship Indra in this way, just as the rivers bow down before the ocean. (4)
ओजस्तदस्य तित्विष उभे यत्समवर्तयत्. इन्द्रश्चर्मेव रोदसी.. (५)

इंद्र जिस शक्ति द्वारा द्यावा-पृथिवी को चमड़े के समान लपेटकर रखते हैं, वह शक्ति स्पष्ट है. (५)
EN English Translation
The power by which Indra keeps the dyava-prithvivi wrapped like leather is evident. (5)
वि चिदवृत्रस्य दोधतो वज्रेण शतपर्वणा. शिरो बिभेद वृष्णिना. (६)

इंद्र ने सौ धारों वाले वज्र द्वारा कांपते हुए वृत्र का सिर काट डाला था. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra had cut off the head of the trembling vritra with a hundred-edged thunderbolt. (6)
इमा अभि प्र णोनुमो विपामग्रेषु धीतयः. अग्नेः शोचिर्न दिद्युतः.. (७)

हे इंद्र! हम अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी इन स्तोत्रों को स्तोताओं के आगे रहकर बार-बार पढ़ेंगे. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We will read these stotras as bright as agni again and again in front of the psalms. (7)
गुहा सतीरुप त्मना प्र यच्छोचन्त धीतयः. कण्वा ऋतस्य धारया.. (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बुद्धि में स्थित जो स्तुतियां अपने आप इंद्र के पास जाकर प्रकाशित होती हैं, उन्हें कण्वगोत्रीय ऋषि सोम की धारा से मिलाते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The hymns which are written in the intellects by themselves go to Indra and are mixed with the stream of the Kanvagotriya sage Soma. (8)
प्र तमिन्द्र नशीमहि रयिं गोमन्तमश्विनम्, प्र ब्रह्म पूर्वचित्तये. (९)

हे इंद्र! हम गायों एवं घोड़ों से युक्त धन प्राप्त करें. हम दूसरों से पहले ज्ञान पाने के लिए अन्न पावें. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We get money containing cows and horses. We get food to get knowledge before others. (9)
अहमिद्धि पितुष्परि मेधामृतस्य जग्रभ. अहं सूर्य इवाजनि.. (१०)

मैंने ही सच्चे पिता इंद्र की कृपादृष्टि प्राप्त की है. मैं सूर्य के समान प्रकाशयुक्त होकर उत्पन्न हुआ हूं. (१०)
EN English Translation
I have received the grace of the true Father Indra. I am born as light as the sun. (10)
अहं प्रत्नेन मन्मना गिरः शुम्भामि कण्ववत्. येनेन्द्रः शुष्ममिद्दधे. (११)

मैं अपने पिता कण्व के समान वेदरूप स्तोत्र से अपनी वाणी को अलंकृत करता हूं. इस स्तोत्र द्वारा इंद्र बल धारण करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
I embellish my voice with the Vedarup hymn like my father Kanva. By this hymn indra holds the force. (11)
ये त्वामिन्द्र न तुष्टुवुर्त्रषयो ये च तुष्टुवुः. ममेद्वर्धस्व सुष्ट॒तः.. (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो ऋषि तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं अथवा जो तुम्हारी स्तुति नहीं करते हैं, इन दोनों प्रकार के ऋषियों में मेरी स्तुति प्रशंसा पाकर बढ़े. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The sages who praise you or those who do not praise you, in both these types of sages, my praise grows. (12)
यदस्य मन्युरध्वनीद्वि वृत्रं पर्वशो रुजन्. अपः समुद्रमैरयत्.. (१३)

इंद्र के क्रोध ने जिस समय वृत्र को टुकड़ेटुकड़े करके काटते हुए ध्वनि की थी, उस समय जल को सागर की ओर भेजा था. (१३)
EN English Translation
Indra's anger had sent water to the sea at the time when he made a sound of the vritra being cut into pieces. (13)
नि शुष्ण इन्द्र धर्णसिं वज्रं जघन्थ दस्यवि. वृषा ह्युग्र शृज्विषे.. (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने शुष्ण नामक दस्यु पर अपना धारण करने योग्य वज्र चलाया था. हे उग्र इंद्र! तुम अभिलाषापूरक सुने जाते हो. (१४)

O Indra! You drove your habitable vajra on a bandit called Shushna. O furious Indra! You are heard full of desire. (14)
न द्याव इन्द्रमोजसा नान्तरिक्षाणि वज्रिणम्, न विव्यचन्त भूमयः.. (१५)

द्युलोक, अंतरिक्ष एवं धरती वज्रधारी इंद्र को अपनी शक्ति से व्याप्त नहीं कर सकते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
Dulok, space and earth cannot cover Vajradhari Indra with their power. (15)
यस्त इन्द्र महीरपः स्तभूयमान आशयत्, नितं पद्यासु शिश्नथः. (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो वृत्र तुम्हारे महान् जल को रोक कर अंतरिक्ष में सोया था, उसे तुमने गतिशील जल के मध्य मारा था. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The circle that stopped your great waters and slept in space, you hit him in the middle of the moving waters. (16)
य इमे रोदसी मही समीची समजग्रभीत्, तमोभिरिन्द्र तं गुहः.. (१७)

हे इंद्र! जिस वृत्र ने विस्तृत एवं परस्पर मिलित द्यावा-पृथिवी को ढक लिया था, उसे तुमने अंधकार में विलीन कर दिया था. (१७)

O Indra! The circle that covered the wide and interconnected dyava-prithvi, you merged it into darkness. (17)
य इन्द्र यतयस्त्वा भृगवो ये च तुष्टुवुः. ममेदुग्र श्रुधी हवम्.. (१८)

हे उग्र इंद्र! जो संयमी अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषि एवं भृगुगोत्रीय ऋषि तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं, उनके मध्य में मेरी स्तुति सुनो. (१८)
EN English Translation
O furious Indra! Listen to My praise in the midst of the spartan Angiragotrian sages and the sages who praise you. (18)
इमास्त इन्द्र पृश्नयो घृतं दुहत आशिरम्, एनामृतस्य पिप्युषीः. (१९)

हे इंद्र! ये यज्ञ को पूर्ण करने वाली गाएं घी तथा दूध देती हैं. (१९)

O Indra! These sacrifices give ghee and milk to complete the yajna. (19)
या इन्द्र प्रस्वस्त्वासा गर्भमचक्रिरन्, परि धर्मेव सूर्यम्.. (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! इन प्रसव वाली गायों ने मुख से अन्न खाकर इस प्रकार गर्भ धारण किया है, जिस प्रकार सूर्य के चारों ओर जल रहता है. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! These natal cows have conceived by eating food from the mouth in such a way that water remains around the sun. (20)
त्वामिच्छवसस्पते कण्वा उक्थेन वावृधुः. त्वां सुतास इन्दवः. (२१)

हे शक्ति के स्वामी इंद्र! कण्वगोत्रीय ऋषियों ने तुम्हें उक्थ द्वारा बढ़ाया. निचोड़े हुए सोम ने तुम्हें बढ़ाया. (२१)

O Lord of power Indra! The Sages of The Kanvagotriya have raised you up by the uqth. The squeezed mon pounded you. (21)
तवेदिन्द्र प्रणीतिषूत प्रशस्तिरद्रिवः. यज्ञो वितन्तसाय्यः. (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! जब तुम मार्गदर्शक बनते हो, तब उत्तम स्तुति एवं विशाल यज्ञ किया जाता है. (२२)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! When you become a guide, the best praise and the great yajna are performed. (22)
आ न इन्द्र महीमिषं पुरं न दर्षि गोमतीम्. उत प्रजां सुवीर्यम्.. (२३)

हे इंद्र हमारे लिए महान्, गायों सहित अन्न एवं शोभनवीर्य वाला पुत्र देने की इच्छा करो. (२३)

O Indra, great, wish to give us a son of food and beauty, including cows. (23)
उत त्यदाश्वश्व्यं यदिन्द्र नाहुषीष्वा. अग्रे विक्षु प्रदीदयत्.. (२४)

हे इंद्र! तुमने राजा नहुष की प्रजाओं के सामने शीघ्रगामी घोड़े के समान जो जल दिया था, वह हमें दो. (२४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give us the water that you gave like a horse to the people of King Nahus as a quick horse. (24)
अभि व्रजं न तत्निषे सूर उपाकचक्षसम्, यदिन्द्र मृळ्यासि नः. (२५)

हे विद्वान् इंद्र! तुम हमारी गोशाला को पास से देखने में गायों से पूर्ण करो एवं हमें सुखी बनाओ. (२५)

O scholar Indra! You complete our goshala with cows in a closer look and make us happy. (25)
यदङ्ग तविषीयस इन्द्र प्रराजसि क्षितीः. महाँ अपार ओजसा.. (२६)

हे इंद्र! तुम अपने बल का प्रदर्शन करके धरती के राजा बनते हो. तुम अपने बल के कारण ही महान् एवं अपराजेय हो. (२६)

O Indra! You become the king of the earth by demonstrating your strength. You are great and unbeatable because of your strength. (26)
तं त्वा हविष्मतीर्विश उप ब्रुवत ऊतये. उरु्यसमिन्दुभिः.. (२७)

हे परम व्यापक इंद्र! हव्य धारणकर्तता लोग तुम्हें सोमरस द्वारा प्रसन्न करके अपनी रक्षा के लिए स्तुति करते हैं. (२७)

O supremely comprehensive Indra! People of the human faith praise you for your protection by pleasing you by the Somras. (27)
उपह्वरे गिरीणां सङ्गथे च नदीनाम्, धिया विप्रो अजायत.. (२८)

यज्ञकर्म के कारण इंद्र पर्वत के भागों में एवं नदियों के संगम पर उत्पन्न होते हैं. (२८)
EN English Translation
Due to yajnakarma, Indra is born in the parts of the mountain and at the confluence of rivers. (28)
अतः समुद्रमुद्वतश्चिकित्वाँ अव पश्यति. यतो विपान एजति.. (२९)

जो व्यापक इंद्र सूर्यरूप में संसार में विहार करते हैं, वे ही ऊपर के लोक में स्थित रहकर नीचे की ओर मुंह करके सागर को देखते हैं. (२९)

The broad Indras who visit the world in the form of the sun, they are the ones who are located in the upper realm and look at the ocean facing downwards. (29)
आदित्प्रत्नस्य रेतसो ज्योतिष्पश्यन्ति वासरम्, परो यदिध्यते दिवा.. (३०)

इंद्र जिस समय द्युलोक के ऊपर दीप्ति प्राप्त करते हैं, उसी समय लोग प्राचीन एवं जल बरसाने वाले इंद्र की निवासस्थान देने वाली दीप्ति को देखते हैं. (३०)
EN English Translation
At the same time that Indra attains the glow on top of the doloka, people see the light giving the abode of Indra, who is ancient and water-pouring. (30)
