जनीयन्तो न्वग्रवः पुत्रीयन्तः सुदानवः । सरस्वन्तँ हवामहे ॥ (१)

हे सरस्वती! आप श्रेष्ठ कार्यो में अग्रगण्या हैं. हम अच्छी संतान व दान के आकांक्षी हैं. हम आप को आमंत्रित करते हैं. (१)

O Saraswati! You are at the forefront of best work. We are good children and aspiring for charity. We invite you. (1)
उत नः प्रिया प्रियासु सप्तस्वसा सुजुष्टा । सरस्वती स्तोम्या भूत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सरस्वती! आप हमें प्रिय हैं. आप की सात बहनें हैं. आप हमें उन से जोडिए. हम आप की स्तुति करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Saraswati! You are dear to us. You have seven sisters. You connect us with them. We praise you. (2)
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ (३)

हम उन सविता देवता का वरेण्य तेज धारण करना चाहते हैं, जो हमारी बुद्धि को श्रेष्ठ पथ की ओर उन्मुख एवं प्रेरित करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
We want to wear the varenya tej of savita devta, who orients and inspires our intellect towards the best path. (3)
सोमानाँ स्वरणं कृणुहि ब्रह्मणस्पते । कक्षीवन्तँ य औशिजः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! आप ने जैसे उशिज से उत्पन्न पुत्र कक्षीवान को ज्ञानी, यशस्वी बनाया, उसी तरह हम सोमयागियों को भी बनाने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O Brahmanaspati! Just as you made The Chamber, the son born of Ushij, knowledgeable, successful, so please make us Somayagis also. (4)
अग्न आयूँषि पवसे आ सुवोर्जं इषं च नः । आरे बाधस्व दुच्छुनाम् ॥ (५)

हे अग्नि! आप दुष्टों को हम से दूर भगाइए. आप हमें दीर्घायु बनाएं. हमें बल व पुष्टिवर्द्धक अन्न दीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You drive the wicked away from us. May you make us longevity. Give us strength and confirmatory food. (5)
ता नः शक्तं पार्थिवस्य महो रायो दिव्यस्य । महि वा क्षत्रं देवेषु ॥ (६)

हे वरुण! आप हमें अपनी शक्ति दीजिए. आप हमें धरती और आकाश में फैला हुआ समस्त धन और क्षात्र तेज प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (६)

O Varuna! You give us your power. Please give us all the wealth and kshatra radiance spread across the earth and the sky. (6)
ऋतमृतेन सपन्तेषिरं दक्षमाशाते । अद्रुहा देवौ वर्धेते ॥ (७)

वरुण द्रोह न करने वालों की बढ़ोतरी करते हैं. वे सत्य से सत्य के पालक हैं. वे अभीष्ट बलदायी हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Varun increases those who do not treason. They are the guardians of truth from truth. They are the most powerful. (7)
वृष्टिद्यावा रीत्यापेषस्पती दानुमत्याः । बृहन्तं गर्त्तमाशाते ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र! आप उत्तम स्थान पर विराजित हैं. हम वर्षा के लिए उन की उपासना करते हैं. वे पृथ्वी पर सब कुछ नियम से उपलब्ध कराते हैं, दानशील व अन्न के स्वामी हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Hey friend! You are sitting in the best place. We worship them for rain. They provide everything on earth by law, are charitable and the masters of food. (8)
युञ्जन्ति ब्रध्नमरुषं चरन्तं परि तस्थुषः । रोचन्ते रोचना दिवि ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य गतिशील दिखाई देते हैं, पर स्थिर हैं. वे अग्निस्वरूप हैं. हम उन की उपासना करते हैं. उन की किरणें समस्त स्वर्गलोक को प्रकाशित कर सुशोभित होती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
The suns appear dynamic, but are stationary. They are agni forms. We worship them. Their rays illuminate the whole heaven and adorn them. (9)
युञ्जन्त्यस्य काम्या हरी विपक्षसा रथे । शोणा धृष्णू नृवाहसा ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप मनुष्यों के रक्त और बुद्धि को सन्मार्ग पर ले जाने के लिए अपने मनचाहे लाल और प्रौढ़ घोड़ों को रथ में जोतने की कृपा कीजिए. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Please plough your desired red and mature horses in the chariot to take the blood and wisdom of human beings on the path of peace. (10)
केतुं कृण्वन्नकेतवे पेशो मर्या अपेशसे । समुषद्भिरजायथाः ॥ (११)

हे सूर्य! आप असुंदर को सुंदर बना देने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. आप उषाकाल में उदित होते हैं. (११)

O sun! You have the ability to make the asundar beautiful. You rise in the dawn. (11)
