देवताओं ने उस के लिए वसंत ऋतु के दो महीनों को पूर्व दिशा में रक्षक नियुक्त किया. बृहत्साम और रथंतर को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१)
EN English Translation
The gods appointed him a protector in the east direction for two months of spring. Brihatsam and Rathantar were made to perform the rituals. (1)
वा॑स॒न्तौ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्वन्बृ॒हच्च॑ रथन्त॒रं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (२)

देवताओं ने उस के लिए वसंत ऋतु के दो महीनों को पूर्व दिशा में रक्षक नियुक्त किया. बृहत्साम और रथंतर को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (२)
EN English Translation
The gods appointed him a protector in the east direction for two months of spring. Brihatsam and Rathantar were made to perform the rituals. (2)
वा॑स॒न्तावे॑नं॒मासौ॒ प्राच्या॑ दि॒शो गो॑पायतो बृ॒हच्च॑ रथन्त॒रं चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो यह बात जानता है, वसंत ऋतु के दो महीने, पूर्व दिशा की ओर से उस की रक्षा करते हैं. बृहत् साम और रथंतर उस के अनुकूल हो जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Whoever knows this, two months of spring, protect him from the east direction. Greater sama and rathantar adapt to it. (3)

दक्षिण दिशा की ओर देवताओं ने ग्रीष्म ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक बनाया तथा यज्ञायज्ञिय और वामदेव्य को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला नियुक्त किया. (४)
EN English Translation
Towards the south, the gods made the two months of summer its protector and appointed Yajnayagyya and Vamdevya as its ritualists. (4)
ग्रैष्मौ॒ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्वन्यज्ञाय॒ज्ञियं॑ च वामदे॒व्यं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (५)

दक्षिण दिशा की ओर देवताओं ने ग्रीष्म ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक बनाया तथा यज्ञायज्ञिय और वामदेव्य को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला नियुक्त किया. (५)

Towards the south, the gods made the two months of summer its protector and appointed Yajnayagyya and Vamdevya as its ritualists. (5)
ग्रैष्मा॑वेनं॒मासौ॒ दक्षि॑णाया दि॒शो गो॑पायतो यज्ञाय॒ज्ञियं॑ च वामदे॒व्यं चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ यए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस बात को जानता है, दक्षिण दिशा की ओर से ग्रीष्म ऋतु के दो महीने उस की रक्षा करते हैं तथा यज्ञायज्ञिय और वामदेव उस के अनुकूल होते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Whoever knows this, two months of summer from the south direction protect him and Yajnayagya and Vamdev are favorable to him. (6)

देवताओं ने पश्चिम दिशा में वर्षा ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया तथा वैरूप और वैराज को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला नियुक्त किया. (७)

The gods appointed two months of the rainy season in the west direction as its protector and appointed Vairupa and Vairaja as its ritualists. (7)
वार्षि॑कौ॒ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्वन्वैरू॒पं च॑ वैरा॒जं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (८)

वार्षि॑कावेनं॒मासौ॑ प्र॒तीच्या॑ दि॒शो गो॑पायतो वैरू॒पं च॑ वैरा॒जं चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ य ए॒वंवेद॑ ॥ (९)

जो इस बात को जानता है, वह पश्चिम दिशा की ओर से वर्षा ऋतु के दो महीनों द्वारा रक्षित रहता है तथा वैरूप और वैराज उस के अनुकूल रहते हैं. (९)

One who knows this is protected from the west side by two months of the rainy season and Vairoop and Vairaj are favorable to him. (9)

देवताओं ने उत्तर दिशा की ओर से शरद ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया तथा श्येत और नौधस को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१०)

The gods appointed two autumn months as its protectors from the north side and made Shyt and Naudhas its ritualists. (10)
शा॑र॒दौ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्वञ्छ्यै॒तं च॑ नौध॒सं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (११)

शा॑र॒दावे॑नं॒मासा॒वुदी॑च्या दि॒शो गो॑पायतः श्यै॒तं च॑ नौध॒सं चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (१२)

जो यह बात जानता है, उत्तर दिशा की ओर से उस की रक्षा शरद ऋतु के दो महीने करते हैं तथा नौधस और श्येत उस के अनुकूल बन जाते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Whoever knows this, he is protected from the north direction for two months of autumn and Naudhas and Shyt become favorable to him. (12)

देवताओं ने ध्रुव दिशा अर्थात् पृथ्वी की अथवा नीचे की ओर से हेमंत ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया तथा पृथ्वी और अग्नि को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१३)

The gods appointed the two months of the hemant season from the pole direction i.e. the earth or from the bottom side as its protector and made the earth and agni its ritualists. (13)
है॑म॒नौ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्व॒न्भूमिं॑ चा॒ग्निं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (१४)

देवताओं ने ध्रुव दिशा अर्थात् पृथ्वी की अथवा नीचे की ओर से हेमंत ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया तथा पृथ्वी और अग्नि को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१४)

The gods appointed the two months of the hemant season from the pole direction i.e. the earth or from the bottom side as its protector and made the earth and agni its ritualists. (14)
है॑म॒नावे॑नं॒मासौ॑ ध्रु॒वाया॑ दि॒शो गो॑पायतो॒ भूमि॑श्चा॒ग्निश्चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस बात को जानता है, ध्रुव दिशा की ओर से हेमंत ऋतु के दो महीने उस पुरुष की रक्षा करते हैं. पृथ्वी और अग्नि उस के अनुकूल हो जाते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
Whoever knows this, two months of Hemant Ritu from Dhruva direction protect that man. Earth and agni become compatible with him. (15)

देवताओं ने ऊर्ध्व दिशा अर्थात् ऊपर की ओर से शिशिर ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया और आकाश तथा सूर्य को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१६)

The gods appointed the two months of shishir season from the upper side as its protector and made the sky and the sun its rituals. (16)
शै॑शि॒रौ मासौ॑गो॒प्तारा॒वकु॑र्व॒न्दिवं॑ चादि॒त्यं चा॑नुष्ठा॒तारौ॑ ॥ (१७)

देवताओं ने ऊर्ध्व दिशा अर्थात् ऊपर की ओर से शिशिर ऋतु के दो महीनों को उस का रक्षक नियुक्त किया और आकाश तथा सूर्य को उस का अनुष्ठान करने वाला बनाया. (१७)

The gods appointed the two months of shishir season from the upper side as its protector and made the sky and the sun its rituals. (17)
शै॑शि॒रावे॑नं॒मासा॑वू॒र्ध्वाया॑ दि॒शो गो॑पायतो॒ द्यौश्चा॑दि॒त्यश्चानु॑ तिष्ठतो॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (१८)

जो इस बात को जानता है. वह ऊपर की दिशा की ओर से शिशिर ऋतु के दो महीनों के द्वारा रक्षित होता है. आकाश तथा सूर्य उस के अनुकूल हो जाते हैं. (१८)

Who knows this. He is protected from the upward direction by two months of shishir season. The sky and the sun adapt to it. (18)
