यद्ध॒ प्राची॒रज॑ग॒न्तोरो॑ मण्डूरधाणिकीः । ह॒ता इन्द्र॑स्य॒ शत्र॑वः॒ सर्वे॑ बुद्बु॒दया॑शवः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब मंड्रधाणकी प्राची दिशा हृदय प्रदेश को प्राप्त हुई, तब इंद्र के सभी शत्रु नष्ट हो गए. (१)
EN English Translation
When the prachi direction of Mandradhana was received by the heart region, then all the enemies of Indra were destroyed. (1)
कपृ॑न्नरः कपृ॒थमुद्द॑धातन चो॒दय॑त खु॒दत॒ वाज॑सातये । नि॑ष्टि॒ग्र्य: पु॒त्रमा च्या॑वयो॒तय॒ इन्द्रं॑ स॒बाध॑ इ॒ह सोम॑पीतये ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कर्मशील मनुष्यो! तुम सुखद इंद्र को हृदय में ग्रहण करो, तुम अन्न प्राप्ति के लिए प्रेरणा करो. तुम अपनी रक्षा के लिए पुत्र को उत्पन्न करो तथा सोमरस पीने के लिए इंद्र का आह्वान करो. (२)
EN English Translation
O working men! You take pleasant Indra in your heart, you inspire you to get food. You produce a son to protect you and invoke Indra to drink someras. (2)
द॑धि॒क्राव्णो॑ अकारिषं जि॒ष्णोरश्व॑स्य वा॒जिनः॑ । सु॑र॒भि नो॒ मुखा॑ कर॒त्प्र ण॒ आयूं॑षि तारिषत् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र की सवारी के लिए मैं वेगवान अर्थात् तेज दौड़ने वाले घोड़े का पूजन कर चुका हूं. वे इंद्र हमें सुरभि अर्थात् गाय का स्वामी बनाएं तथा हमें श्रेष्ठ बनाते हुए हमारा जीवन उत्तम बनाएं. (३)
EN English Translation
For the ride of Indra, I have worshiped the fast running horse. That Indra should make us surabhi i.e. the swami of the cow and make us better and make our life better. (3)
सु॒तासो॒ मधु॑मत्तमाः॒ सोमा॒ इन्द्रा॑य म॒न्दिनः॑ । प॒वित्र॑वन्तो अक्षरन्दे॒वान्ग॑छन्तु वो॒ मदाः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हर्ष प्रदान करने वाला सोमरस इंद्र के लिए तैयार किया जा चुका है. सोमरस छन्ने अर्थात् छानने के लिए प्रयोग किए गए कषड़े से टपक रहा है. हे सोम! तुम्हारी शक्ति देवताओं को हर्षित करे. (४)
EN English Translation
Someras, who provides happiness, has been prepared for Indra. Somers is dripping from the shell used for filtering. O Mon! May your power make the gods happy. (4)
इन्दु॒रिन्द्रा॑य पवत॒ इति॑ दे॒वासो॑ अब्रुवन् । वा॒चस्पति॑र्मखस्यते॒ विश्व॒स्येशा॑न॒ ओज॑सा ॥ (५)

इंद्र के लिए सोमरस का शोधन किया जा चुका है. संसार के स्वामी वाचस्पति अपने ओज से प्रशंसित होते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras has been refined for Indra. Vachaspati, the swami of the world, is admired with his oz. (5)
स॒हस्र॑धारः पवते समु॒द्रो वा॑चमीङ्ख॒यः । सोमः॒ पती॑ रयी॒णां सखेन्द्र॑स्य दि॒वेदि॑वे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हजारों धाराओं वाला गमनशील सोमरस तैयार किया जा रहा है. धन का स्वामी यह सोमरस प्रत्येक स्तोत्र में इंद्र का सखा होता है. (६)
EN English Translation
A moving somras with thousands of streams is being prepared. This Somras, the swami of wealth, is indra's friend in every hymn. (6)
अव॑ द्र॒प्सो अं॑शु॒मती॑मतिष्ठदिया॒नः कृ॒ष्णो द॒शभिः॑ स॒हस्रैः॑ । आव॒त्तमिन्द्रः॒ शच्या॒ धम॑न्त॒मप॒ स्नेहि॑तीर्नृ॒मणा॑ अधत्त ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दस हजार किरणों से आकर्षित करने वाले सूर्य पृथ्वी पर आ कर अपने ओज से खड़े हुए तथा अपनी शक्ति से पृथ्वी की हिंसा करने लगे. तब इंद्र ने अपने बल से सूर्य को हटा कर पृथ्वी की रक्षा की तथा अपनी शक्ति से ही इंद्र ने पृथ्वी पर जल वाली शक्तियों की स्थापना की. (७)
EN English Translation
The sun, which attracted ten thousand rays, came to the earth and stood with its oz and started doing violence to the earth with its power. Then Indra removed the sun with his force and protected the earth and with his power, Indra established the powers of water on the earth.
द्र॒प्सम॑पश्यं॒ विषु॑णे॒ चर॑न्तमुपह्व॒रे न॒द्यो अंशु॒मत्याः॑ । नभो॒ न कृ॒ष्णम॑वतस्थि॒वांस॒मिष्या॑मि वो वृषणो॒ युध्य॑ता॒जौ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विषम और विचरण करने वाले शुकु अर्थात् काले असुर को अंशुमती के पास घूमते हुए देखा है. वे भी सूर्य के समान ही आकाश में निवास करते हैं. मैं उन का आश्रित हूं. कामनाओं की वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र युद्ध में तुम्हारा साथ दें. (८)
EN English Translation
I have seen the odd and moving Shuku i.e. black asura roaming near Anshumati. They also live in the sky just like the sun. I am their dependent. May Indra, who showers desires, support you in the war. (8)
अध॑ द्र॒प्सो अं॑शु॒मत्या॑ उ॒पस्थेऽधा॑रयत्त॒न्वं तित्विषा॒णः । विशो॒ अदे॑वीर॒भ्या॒चर॑न्ती॒र्बृह॒स्पति॑ना यु॒जेन्द्रः॑ ससाहे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस के बाद शुकु ने अपने शरीर को सूक्ष्म बना कर अंशुमती की गोद में रखा. बृहस्पति की सहायता से इंद्र ने देवों की सत्ता स्वीकार न करने वाली प्रजाओं का वध कर दिया. (९)
EN English Translation
After this, Shuku made his body subtle and placed it in Anshumati's lap. With the help of Jupiter, Indra killed the subjects who did not accept the power of the gods. (9)
त्वं ह॒ त्यत्स॒प्तभ्यो॒ जाय॑मानोऽश॒त्रुभ्यो॑ अभवः॒ शत्रु॑रिन्द्र । गू॒ढे द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी अन्व॑विन्दो विभु॒मद्भ्यो॒ भुव॑नेभ्यो॒ रणं॑ धाः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम ने आकाश और पृथ्वी का स्पर्श किया तथा उन्हें प्राप्त कर लिया. सात मित्रों से उत्पन्न हुए तुम बाद में उन के शत्रु बन जाते हो. तुम ने विस्तृत भुवनों से युद्ध किया. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You touched the heavens and the earth and gained them. Born of seven friends, you later become their enemies. You fought with the widestudies. (10)
त्वं ह॒ त्यद॑प्रतिमा॒नमोजो॒ वज्रे॑ण वज्रिन्धृषि॒तो ज॑घन्थ । त्वं शुष्ण॒स्यावा॑तिरो॒ वध॑त्रै॒स्त्वं गा इ॑न्द्र॒ शच्येद॑विन्दः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! तुम ने अपने वज्र से बल नाम के असुर का वध किया. तुम ने अपने हिंसात्मक साधनों से उसे दूर कर दिया और गाएं प्राप्त कर ली. (११)
EN English Translation
O Vajradhari Indra! You killed an asura named Bal with your thunderbolt. You turned him away with your violent means and got the cows. (11)
तमिन्द्रं॑ वाजयामसि म॒हे वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे । स वृषा॑ वृष॒भो भु॑वत् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विशाल शरीर वाले वृत्र असुर को नष्ट करने के कारण हम इंद्र की प्रशंसा करते हैं. कामनाओं की वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र सर्वश्रेष्ठ बनें. (१२)
EN English Translation
We praise Indra for destroying the huge body Vritra Asura. May Indra, who showers wishes, be the best. (12)
इन्द्रः॒ स दाम॑ने कृ॒त ओजि॑ष्ठः॒ स मदे॑ हि॒तः । द्यु॒म्नी श्लो॒की स सो॒म्यः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पापियों को वश में करने के लिए तुम ने शक्तिशाली का रस्सी के समान प्रयोग किया. वे प्रसन्नता देने वाले यज्ञ में प्रतिष्ठित होते हैं. वे इंद्र सभ्य, प्रसिद्ध और तेजस्वी हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
To subdue sinners, you used the powerful rope. They are revered in the joyous yagna. He is Indra decent, famous and stunning. (13)
गि॒रा वज्रो॒ न संभृ॑तः॒ सब॑लो॒ अन॑पच्युतः । व॑व॒क्ष ऋ॒ष्वो अस्तृ॑तः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र पर्वत से प्राप्य वज्र के समान शक्तिशाली हैं. वे कभी पतित नहीं होते हैं. वे श्रेष्ठ यजमानों के लिए शत्रु का धन प्राप्त करते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Indra is as powerful as the thunderbolt obtainable from the mountain. They are never degenerate. They receive enemy money for the best hosts. (14)
