तमिन्द्रं॑ वाजयामसि म॒हे वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे । स वृषा॑ वृष॒भो भु॑वत् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कामनाओं की वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र सभी देवों से श्रेष्ठ बनें. हम वृत्र राक्षस का नाश करने के लिए इंद्र को शक्तिशाली बनाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
May Indra, who showers desires, be superior to all gods. We make Indra powerful to destroy the vritra demon. (1)
इन्द्रः॒ स दाम॑ने कृ॒त ओजि॑ष्ठः॒ स मदे॑ हि॒तः । द्यु॒म्नी श्लो॒की स सो॒म्यः ॥ (२)

इंद्र प्रशंसनीय, सौम्य, तेजस्वी, बलवान तथा दूसरों को प्रसन्न करने वाले हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Indra is praiseworthy, gentle, brilliant, strong and pleasing to others. (2)
गि॒रा वज्रो॒ न संभृ॑तः॒ सब॑लो॒ अन॑पच्युतः । व॑व॒क्ष ऋ॒ष्वो अस्तृ॑तः ॥ (३)

इंद्र अच्छे लोगों को धन देते हैं. वज्रधारी इंद्र शक्तिशाली एवं अविनाशी हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Indra gives money to good people. Vajradhari Indra is powerful and indestructible. (3)
इन्द्र॒मिद्गा॒थिनो॑ बृ॒हदिन्द्र॑म॒र्केभि॑र॒र्किणः॑ । इन्द्रं॒ वाणी॑रनूषत ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोताओं की वाणी इंद्र की स्तुति करती हैं, सामगान के इच्छुक किस के यश का गान करते हैं? पूजा संबंधी मंत्रों के द्वारा इंद्र का ही पूजन किया जाता है. (४)
EN English Translation
The voices of the psalms praise Indra, whose fame are they sung by those who are interested in singing samgan? Indra is worshiped only by worship-related mantras. (4)
इन्द्र॒ इद्धर्योः॒ सचा॒ संमि॑श्ल॒ आ व॑चो॒युजा॑ । इन्द्रो॑ व॒ज्री हि॑र॒ण्ययः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के घोड़े सदा उन के साथ रहते हैं. ऋत्विजों के मंत्रों के उच्चारण के साथ ही उन्हें रथ में जोड़ा जाता है. वज्र धारण करने वाले इंद्र सोने के समान कांति वाले हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra's horses are always with him. Along with the chanting of mantras of the Ritwijas, they are added to the chariot. Indra, who holds a thunderbolt, is as bright as gold. (5)
इन्द्रो॑ दी॒र्घाय॒ चक्ष॑स॒ आ सूर्यं॑ रोहयद्दि॒वि । वि गोभि॒रद्रि॑मैरयत् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने सूर्य को आकाश में इसलिए स्थापित किया कि सब लोग उन का दर्शन कर सकें. वे ही इंद्र सूर्य के रूप में मेघों का भेदन करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra installed the sun in the sky so that everyone could see him. They are the ones who penetrate the clouds in the form of Indra Sun. (6)
आ या॑हि सुषु॒मा हि त॒ इन्द्र॒ सोमं॒ पिबा॑ इ॒मम् । एदं ब॒र्हिः स॑दो॒ मम॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम ने सोम तैयार कर लिया है. तुम इन बिछी हुई कुशाओं पर बैठ कर सोमरस पियो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We have prepared som. You sit on these laid-down axes and drink someras. (7)
आ त्वा॑ ब्रह्म॒युजा॒ हरी॒ वह॑तामिन्द्र के॒शिना॑ । उप॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि नः शृणु ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! ऋत्विजों के मंत्रोच्चारण के साथ ही तुम्हारे घोड़े रथ में जोड़े जाते हैं. वे घोड़े तुम्हें उस स्थान पर ले जाने में समर्थ हैं, जहां तुम जाना चाहते हो. तुम्हारे घोड़े तुम्हें हमारे यज्ञ में लाएं और तुम हमारे स्तोत्रों को सुनो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! With the chanting of mantras of the Ritvijas, your horses are added to the chariot. Those horses are able to take you to the place where you want to go. Your horses bring you to our yagna and you listen to our hymns. (8)
ब्र॒ह्माण॑स्त्वा व॒यं यु॒जा सो॑म॒पामि॑न्द्र सो॒मिनः॑ । सु॒ताव॑न्तो हवामहे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे उपासक हैं. हम ने सोमपान किया है. तैयार किया हुआ सोमरस हमारे पास रखा है. इसी कारण हम तुम्हें सोमरस पीने को बुलाते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We are your worshippers. We have done sompana. The prepared somersus is kept with us. That's why we call you to drink somers. (9)
यु॒ञ्जन्ति॑ ब्र॒ध्नम॑रु॒षं चर॑न्तं॒ परि॑ त॒स्थुषः॑ । रोच॑न्ते रोच॒ना दि॒वि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारा रथ सभी प्राणियों को लांघता हुआ चलता है. तुम्हारे रथ में जुड़े हुए हरे रंग अथवा हरि नाम वाले घोड़े आकाश में दमकते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your chariot runs crossing all beings. Horses with green color or hari name associated with your chariot shine in the sky. (10)
यु॒ञ्जन्त्य॑स्य॒ काम्या॒ हरी॒ विप॑क्षसा॒ रथे॑ । शोणा॑ धृ॒ष्णू नृ॒वाह॑सा ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के सारथी रथ में घोड़ों को जोड़ते हैं. ये घोड़े रथ के दोनों ओर रहते हैं. ये घोड़े कामना करने योग्य हैं एवं इंद्र की यात्रा पूर्ण करने में समर्थ हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Indra's charioteers add horses to the chariot. These horses live on both sides of the chariot. These horses are worthy of desire and are capable of completing indra's journey. (11)
के॒तुं कृ॒ण्वन्न॑के॒तवे॒ पेशो॑ मर्या अपे॒शसे॑ । समु॒षद्भि॑रजायथाः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! ये सूर्यरूपी इंद्र अज्ञानियों को ज्ञान देते हैं तथा अंधकार से ढके पदार्थो को प्रकाशित करते हैं. ये अपनी किरणों के साथ उदय हुए हैं. हे मनुष्यो! इन सूर्यरूपी इंद्र के दर्शन करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O men! These sun-like indras give knowledge to the ignorant and illuminate the things covered with darkness. They have risen with their rays. O men! See indra in the form of this sun. (12)
उदु॒ त्यं जा॒तवे॑दसं दे॒वं व॑हन्ति के॒तवः॑ । दृ॒शे विश्वा॑य॒ सूर्य॑म् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य की किरणें सभी प्राणियों को जाग्रत करती हैं. प्राणी सूर्य रूपी इंद्र का दर्शन कर सकें, इसलिए ये किरणें सूर्य को ऊपर उठाती हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
The sun's rays awaken all beings. These rays lift the sun so that animals can see Indra in the form of the sun. (13)
अप॒ त्ये ता॒यवो॑ यथा॒ नक्ष॑त्रा यन्त्य॒क्तुभिः॑ । सूरा॑य वि॒श्वच॑क्षसे ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार रात के बीतते ही चोर भाग जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार सूर्य के उदय होते ही आकाश से तारे भाग जाते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Just as thieves run away as soon as the night passes, so the stars run away from the sky as soon as the sun rises. (14)
अदृ॑श्रन्नस्य के॒तवो॒ वि र॒श्मयो॒ जनाँ॒ अनु॑ । भ्राज॑न्तो अ॒ग्नयो॑ यथा ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य की किरणें ज्ञान देने वाली एवं अग्नि के समान दीप्त हैं. ये किरणें मनुष्यों का अनुकरण करती हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
The rays of the sun are as enlightening and as bright as agni. These rays simulate humans. (15)
त॒रणि॑र्वि॒श्वद॑र्शतो ज्योति॒ष्कृद॑सि सूर्य । विश्व॒मा भा॑सि रोचन ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम संसार रूपी नाव के समान हो. तुम सब को देखने वाले हो, सब को ज्योति प्रदान करते हो और सब के प्रकाशक हो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are like a boat in the world. You are the one who sees everyone, gives light to everyone and you are the illuminator of all. (16)
प्र॒त्यङ्दे॒वानां॒ विशः॑ प्र॒त्यङ्ङुदे॑षि॒ मानु॑षीः । प्र॒त्यङ्विश्वं॒ स्वर्दृ॒शे ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम मनुष्यों और देवों के कल्याण के लिए उदय होते हो. तुम सब के सामने प्रकाशित होते हो. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You rise for the welfare of human beings and gods. You are illuminated in front of everyone. (17)
येना॑ पावक॒ चक्ष॑सा भुर॒ण्यन्तं॒ जनाँ॒ अनु॑ । त्वं व॑रुण॒ पश्य॑सि ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पाप का नाश करने वाले इंद्र! जो पुरुष प्राचीन काल के पुण्यात्मा लोगों के मार्ग पर चलते हैं, तुम उन्हें सदैव कृपा की दृष्टि से देखते हो. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Indra, the destroyer of sin! The men who follow the path of the pious people of ancient times, you always look at them with grace. (18)
वि द्या॑मेषि॒ रज॑स्पृ॒थ्वह॒र्मिमा॑नो अ॒क्तुभिः॑ । पश्यं॒ जन्मा॑नि सूर्य ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम सब पर कृपा करते हो तथा उन्हें देखते हुए रात्रि और दिन का निर्माण करते हो. तुम तीनों लोकों में विचरण करते हो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are kind to all and see them and create night and day. You roam in all three worlds. (19)
स॒प्त त्वा॑ ह॒रितो॒ रथे॒ वह॑न्ति देव सूर्य । शो॒चिष्के॑शं विचक्ष॒णम् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्यरूपी इंद्र! तुम्हारी दमकती हुई सात किरणें घोड़ों के रूप में तुम्हारे रथ में जुड़ी रहती हैं. वे ही तुम्हारा वहन करती हैं. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Indra of the sun! Your seven shining rays are attached to your chariot in the form of horses. They are the ones who bear you. (20)
अयु॑क्त स॒प्त शु॒न्ध्युवः॒ सूरो॒ रथ॑स्य न॒प्त्य: । ताभि॑र्याति॒ स्वयु॑क्तिभिः ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने सात घोड़ों को अपने रथ में जोड़ा है. घोड़े इंद्र की इच्छा के अनुसार अपने ढंग से आगे बढ़ते हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
Indra has added seven horses to his chariot. Horses move in their own way according to Indra's wishes. (21)
