उच्छ्र॑यस्व ब॒हुर्भ॑व॒ स्वेन॒ मह॑सा यव । मृ॑णी॒हि विश्वा॒ पात्रा॑णि॒ मा त्वा॑ दि॒व्याशनि॑र्वधीत् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जौ अन्न! तू उगता हुआ ऊंचा हो तथा अनेक प्रकार का बन. तू अपने तेज से कुसूल, कोष्ठ आदि सभी पात्रों को भर दे. आकाश से गिरने वाला वज्र तेरी हिंसा न करे. (१)
EN English Translation
O barley food! You are rising high and become many kinds. Fill all the vessels like leprosy, cell etc. with your glory. The thunderbolt falling from the sky should not do your violence. (1)
आ॑शृ॒ण्वन्तं॒ यवं॑ दे॒वं यत्र॑ त्वाच्छा॒वदा॑मसि । तदुच्छ्र॑यस्व॒ द्यौरि॑व समु॒द्र इ॑वै॒ध्यक्षि॑तः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सामने हो कर हमारी बात सुनते हुए जौ नामक देव की मैं इस भूमि में प्रार्थना करता हूं. तू धरती पर आकाश के समान ऊंचा हो तथा सागर के समान क्षय रहित हो कर बढ़. (२)
EN English Translation
While listening to us in front of us, I pray to a god named Barley in this land. You should be as high as the sky on the earth and grow without decay like the ocean. (2)
अक्षि॑तास्त उप॒सदोऽक्षि॑ताः सन्तु रा॒शयः॑ । पृ॒णन्तो॒ अक्षि॑ताः सन्त्व॒त्तारः॑ स॒न्त्वक्षि॑ताः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जौ! तुझ से संबंधित कर्म करने वाले विनाश रहित हों. तेरे ढेर नाश रहित हों. तुझे घर में रखने को ले जाने वाले लोग विनाश रहित हों. तुझे खाने वाले लोग भी विनाश रहित हों. (३)
EN English Translation
O barley! Those who do things related to you should be without destruction. May your heaps be without destruction. Let the people who take you to the house be without destruction. May those who eat you also be without destruction. (3)
