हि॒र॒ण्य॒ग॒र्भः सम॑वर्त॒ताग्रे॑ भू॒तस्य॑ जा॒तः पति॒रेक॑ आसीत् । स दा॑धार पृथि॒वीं द्यामु॒तेमां कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
परमात्मा से सबसे पहले प्रजापति उत्पन्न हुए. वे उत्पन्न होते ही सब जगत् के स्वामी बने. उन्होंने धरती एवं इस द्यौ को धारण किया. हम पुरोडाश आदि के द्वारा दिव्य प्रजापति की सेवा करें. (१)
EN English Translation
The first prajapatis were born from god. As soon as they were born, they became masters of all the worlds. He held the earth and this thread. Let us serve the divine Prajapati through purodash etc. (1)
य आ॑त्म॒दा ब॑ल॒दा यस्य॒ विश्व॑ उ॒पास॑ते प्र॒शिषं॒ यस्य॑ दे॒वाः । यस्य॑ छा॒यामृतं॒ यस्य॑ मृ॒त्युः कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो प्रजापति आत्माओं तथा बलों को देने वाले हैं, सभी विश्व के प्राणी जिनकी आज्ञा को शिरोधार्य करते हैं. मरण एवं अमरता जिनकी छाया है, हम उन्हीं दिव्य प्रजापति की पुरोडाश आदि से सेवा करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Those who give the Creator spirits and forces, all beings of the world, whose commands are obeyed. Those whose shadows are death and immortality, we serve the same divine Creator with purodash, etc. (2)
यः प्रा॑ण॒तो नि॑मिष॒तो म॑हि॒त्वैक॒ इद्राजा॒ जग॑तो ब॒भूव॑ । य ईशे॑ अ॒स्य द्वि॒पद॒श्चतु॑ष्पदः॒ कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अपने महत्त्व से सांस लेने वाले, पलक झपकाने वाले एवं गतिशील प्राणियों के एकमात्र राजा हुए हैं, जो दो पैरों वाले मानवों एवं चार पैरों वाले पशुओं के स्वामी हैं, उन्हीं प्रजापति की पूजा हम हव्य द्वारा करें. (३)
EN English Translation
We should worship the same Prajapati, who has been the only king of breathing, blinking and moving beings, who is the master of two-legged humans and four-legged animals. (3)
यस्ये॒मे हि॒मव॑न्तो महि॒त्वा यस्य॑ समु॒द्रं र॒सया॑ स॒हाहुः । यस्ये॒माः प्र॒दिशो॒ यस्य॑ बा॒हू कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिसकी महिमा से ये हिम वाले पर्वत उत्पन्न हुए हैं एवं यह सागर सहित धरती जिसकी कही जाती है, ये सब दिशाएं जिसकी भुजाएं हैं, हम उन्हीं प्रजापति की हव्य द्वारा पूजा करें. (४)
EN English Translation
From whose glory these snowy mountains have been born and it is the earth, including the sea, which is called, all these directions which have sides, let us worship the same Prajapati by means of the havan. (4)
येन॒ द्यौरु॒ग्रा पृ॑थि॒वी च॑ दृ॒ळ्हा येन॒ स्वः॑ स्तभि॒तं येन॒ नाकः॑ । यो अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ रज॑सो वि॒मानः॒ कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने द्यौ एवं विस्तृत धरती को स्थिर किया है, जिन्होंने स्वर्ग तथा आदित्य को धारण किया है एवं जो अंतरिक्ष में जल को बनाने वाले हैं, उन्हीं प्रजापति की पूजा हम हव्य द्वारा करें. (५)
EN English Translation
Those who have stabilized the vast earth, who have possessed heaven and Aditya, and those who make up water in space, let us worship the same Prajapati through Havya. (5)
यं क्रन्द॑सी॒ अव॑सा तस्तभा॒ने अ॒भ्यैक्षे॑तां॒ मन॑सा॒ रेज॑माने । यत्राधि॒ सूर॒ उदि॑तो वि॒भाति॒ कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने रक्षा के विचार से शब्द करती हुई द्यावा-पृथिवी को स्थिर किया एवं दीप्तियुक्त इन दोनों को महिमा वाला समझा, जिनके आधार के कारण उदित हुआ सूर्य प्रकाशित होता है, हम उन्हीं प्रजापति की पूजा हव्य द्वारा करें. (६)
EN English Translation
Those who made the words from the thought of protection and stabilized the dyava-prithvivi and considered the radiant both of them to be glorified, on the basis of which the rising sun is illuminated, let us worship the same Prajapati by havan. (6)
आपो॑ ह॒ यद्बृ॑ह॒तीर्विश्व॒माय॒न्गर्भं॒ दधा॑ना ज॒नय॑न्तीर॒ग्निम् । ततो॑ दे॒वानां॒ सम॑वर्त॒तासु॒रेकः॒ कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विस्तृत जल ने सारे संसार को ढक लिया था, जल ने गर्भ धारण करके अग्नि, आकाश आदि को जन्म दिया. इसके बाद देवों का एकमात्र रक्षक उत्पन्न हुआ. हम हव्य द्वारा उन्हीं प्रजापति की पूजा करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
The vast water had covered the whole world, the water conceived and gave birth to agni, sky, etc. After this, the only protector of the gods arose. We worship the same Prajapati through havya. (7)
यश्चि॒दापो॑ महि॒ना प॒र्यप॑श्य॒द्दक्षं॒ दधा॑ना ज॒नय॑न्तीर्य॒ज्ञम् । यो दे॒वेष्वधि॑ दे॒व एक॒ आसी॒त्कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रजापति को धारण करने वाले एवं यज्ञ को उत्पन्न करने वाले जल को प्रजापति ने अपने महत्त्व से देखा. जो सभी देवों के मध्य एकमात्र देव हुए, हम उन्हीं प्रजापति की हव्य द्वारा सेवा करें. (८)
EN English Translation
Prajapati saw the water that holds the prajapati and produces the yajna with his importance. Those who were the only gods among all the gods, let us serve the same Prajapati through the word. (8)
मा नो॑ हिंसीज्जनि॒ता यः पृ॑थि॒व्या यो वा॒ दिवं॑ स॒त्यध॑र्मा ज॒जान॑ । यश्चा॒पश्च॒न्द्रा बृ॑ह॒तीर्ज॒जान॒ कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो धरती को जन्म देने वाले हैं अथवा जिस सत्य धर्म वाले ने स्वर्ग को उत्पन्न किया है एवं जिन्होंने आनंदवर्धक विस्तृत जल को उत्पन्न किया है, वे हमारी हिंसा न करें. हम हव्य द्वारा उन्हीं प्रजापति की सेवा करें. (९)
EN English Translation
Those who are the givers of the earth or the true religion who has created heaven and who have produced the blissful expansive waters, do not violence us. Let us serve the same Creator through havya. (9)
प्रजा॑पते॒ न त्वदे॒तान्य॒न्यो विश्वा॑ जा॒तानि॒ परि॒ ता ब॑भूव । यत्का॑मास्ते जुहु॒मस्तन्नो॑ अस्तु व॒यं स्या॑म॒ पत॑यो रयी॒णाम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रजापति! तुम्हारे अतिरिक्त दूसरा कोई भी इन समस्त उत्पन्न भूतों को अधीन नहीं कर सका. हम जिस कामना से तुम्हारा हवन करते हैं, वह हमें प्राप्त हो तथा हम धनों के स्वामी बनें. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Prajapati! No one other than you could subjugate all these created ghosts. May the desire with which we perform your havan be received by us and we may be the masters of the riches. (10)
