सं जा॑गृ॒वद्भि॒र्जर॑माण इध्यते॒ दमे॒ दमू॑ना इ॒षय॑न्नि॒ळस्प॒दे । विश्व॑स्य॒ होता॑ ह॒विषो॒ वरे॑ण्यो वि॒भुर्वि॒भावा॑ सु॒षखा॑ सखीय॒ते ॥ (१)

हे जागरणशील स्तोताओं द्वारा प्रशंसित अग्नि! तुम प्रज्वलित होते हो. दानशील अग्नि उत्तर वेदी पर स्थित होकर अन्न की अभिलाषा से समस्त हवि के होता बनते हैं. वरण करने योग्य, व्यापक, दीप्तिशाली एवं शोभन अग्नि मित्र के समान व्यवहार करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni admired by awakening hymns! You ignite. The demonic agni is located on the north altar and is made of all the havi from the desire for food. Selectable, broad, radiant and behave like a friend of shobhan agni. (1)
स द॑र्शत॒श्रीरति॑थिर्गृ॒हेगृ॑हे॒ वने॑वने शिश्रिये तक्व॒वीरि॑व । जनं॑जनं॒ जन्यो॒ नाति॑ मन्यते॒ विश॒ आ क्षे॑ति वि॒श्यो॒३॒॑ विशं॑विशम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दर्शनीय शोभा वाले, अतिथि एवं मानहितैषी अग्नि यजमानों के घरों और वनों में निवास करते हैं. वे गतिशील के समान किसी व्यक्ति को नहीं छोड़ते. प्रजाहितकारी अग्नि मानवों के पास जाते हैं एवं सभी प्रजाओं का आश्रय लेते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The scenics, guests and dignitaries live in the houses and forests of agni hosts. They don't leave a person like dynamic. The pro-people agnis go to the human beings and take shelter of all the subjects. (2)
सु॒दक्षो॒ दक्षैः॒ क्रतु॑नासि सु॒क्रतु॒रग्ने॑ क॒विः काव्ये॑नासि विश्व॒वित् । वसु॒र्वसू॑नां क्षयसि॒ त्वमेक॒ इद्द्यावा॑ च॒ यानि॑ पृथि॒वी च॒ पुष्य॑तः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्वज्ञ अग्नि! तुम शक्ति द्वारा सर्वश्रेष्ठ शक्तिशाली, कर्म के द्वारा शोभन कर्म वाले एवं बुद्धि के कारण बुद्धिमान् हो. तुम अकेले ही सब धर्मो का आश्रय बनते हो. द्यावा-पृथिवी जिन धनों का संवर्धन करते हैं, तुम उन्हें धारण करते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O omniscient agni! You are the best powerful by power, the one with virtuous deeds by karma and wise because of wisdom. You alone become the refuge of all religions. You hold the wealth that the deva-earthyvi promotes. (3)
प्र॒जा॒नन्न॑ग्ने॒ तव॒ योनि॑मृ॒त्विय॒मिळा॑यास्प॒दे घृ॒तव॑न्त॒मास॑दः । आ ते॑ चिकित्र उ॒षसा॑मि॒वेत॑योऽरे॒पसः॒ सूर्य॑स्येव र॒श्मयः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञवेदी के ऊपर अपना घृतयुक्त निवासस्थान बना हुआ जानकर बैठो तुम्हारी ज्वालाएं उषा की किरणें एवं सूर्य की ज्वालाओं के समान विमल हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O agni! You sit on top of the yajnavedi, knowing that your abode is built, your flames are as vimal as the rays of usha and the flames of the sun. (4)
तव॒ श्रियो॑ व॒र्ष्य॑स्येव वि॒द्युत॑श्चि॒त्राश्चि॑कित्र उ॒षसां॒ न के॒तवः॑ । यदोष॑धीर॒भिसृ॑ष्टो॒ वना॑नि च॒ परि॑ स्व॒यं चि॑नु॒षे अन्न॑मा॒स्ये॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी किरणरूपी विभूतियां बरसने वाले मेघ की बिजली अथवा उषा की किरणों के समान जान पड़ती हैं. उस समय तुम ओषधियों और वनों को अपने मुख से भक्षण करने के लिए स्वयं उन्मुक्त जान पड़ते हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! Your ray-like personalities look like the lightning of the raining cloud or the rays of Usha. At that time you feel free to devour the herbs and forests with your mouth. (5)
तमोष॑धीर्दधिरे॒ गर्भ॑मृ॒त्वियं॒ तमापो॑ अ॒ग्निं ज॑नयन्त मा॒तरः॑ । तमित्स॑मा॒नं व॒निन॑श्च वी॒रुधो॒ऽन्तर्व॑तीश्च॒ सुव॑ते च वि॒श्वहा॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ओषधियां उस अग्नि को ऋतु के अनुसार गर्भ के रूप में धारण करती हैं. जलरूपी माताएं अग्नि को जन्म देती हैं. वन की लताएं एवं वृक्ष सदा गर्भयुक्त होकर समान रूप से जन्म देते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
The herbs hold that agni as a womb according to the season. Water-like mothers give birth to agni. The vines and trees of the forest are always pregnant and give birth equally. (6)
वातो॑पधूत इषि॒तो वशा॒ँ अनु॑ तृ॒षु यदन्ना॒ वेवि॑षद्वि॒तिष्ठ॑से । आ ते॑ यतन्ते र॒थ्यो॒३॒॑ यथा॒ पृथ॒क्छर्धां॑स्यग्ने अ॒जरा॑णि॒ धक्ष॑तः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जब तुम वायु द्वारा कंपित वनस्पतियों के वशीभूत होकर एवं वनस्पतियों को व्याप्त करके इधर गति उत्पन्न करते हो, उस समय काष्ठ दहन के कारण उत्पन्न तुम्हारी ज्वालाएं रथियों के समान अपना तेज चालित करती हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! When you move here by being filled with vegetation vibrated by the wind and permeating the vegetation, your flames caused by wood burning move their own fast as chariots. (7)
मे॒धा॒का॒रं वि॒दथ॑स्य प्र॒साध॑नम॒ग्निं होता॑रं परि॒भूत॑मं म॒तिम् । तमिदर्भे॑ ह॒विष्या स॑मा॒नमित्तमिन्म॒हे वृ॑णते॒ नान्यं त्वत् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं बुद्धि के जनक, यज्ञ को सुशोभित करने वाले, देवों के आह्वानकर्तता, शत्रु- पराभवकारी एवं माननीय अग्नि का वरण करता हूं. उस समय अग्नि के अतिरिक्त कोई भी यह निर्णय नहीं कर पाता कि अग्नि को थोड़ा हवि दिया जाएगा या अधिक. (८)
EN English Translation
I choose the father of wisdom, the adorner of the yagna, the invoking of the gods, the enemy-loser and the honourable agni. At that time, apart from the agni, no one can decide whether the agni will be given a little bit or more. (8)
त्वामिदत्र॑ वृणते त्वा॒यवो॒ होता॑रमग्ने वि॒दथे॑षु वे॒धसः॑ । यद्दे॑व॒यन्तो॒ दध॑ति॒ प्रयां॑सि ते ह॒विष्म॑न्तो॒ मन॑वो वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी अभिलाषा करने वाले ऋत्विज् इस संसार में यज्ञो में तुम्हीं को देवों का आह्वानकर्ता वरण करते हैं. देवयजन करने के इच्छुक कुश बिछाने वाले एवं हव्ययुक्त मनुष्य तुम्हारे लिए यज्ञीय द्रव्य धारण करते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! The rituals who desire you in this world choose you as the invoker of the gods in the yagnas. The people who are willing to do godlyness and the human beings who are willing to do godlyness wear sacrificial fluid for you. (9)
तवा॑ग्ने हो॒त्रं तव॑ पो॒त्रमृ॒त्वियं॒ तव॑ ने॒ष्ट्रं त्वम॒ग्निदृ॑ताय॒तः । तव॑ प्रशा॒स्त्रं त्वम॑ध्वरीयसि ब्र॒ह्मा चासि॑ गृ॒हप॑तिश्च नो॒ दमे॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! ऋतु के अनुकूल तुम ही होता और पोता का कर्म करते हो. यज्ञ करने वाले के लिए तुम्हीं नेष्टा एवं अग्नि हो. तुम ही प्रशस्ता, अध्वर्यु, ब्रह्मा एवं हमारे घर में गृहपति हो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the only one who suits the season and do the work of the grandson. For the one who performs the yajna, you are the god and the agni. You are the one who is the grihapati in The Prashakta, the Adhwaryu, the Brahma and our house. (10)
यस्तुभ्य॑मग्ने अ॒मृता॑य॒ मर्त्यः॑ स॒मिधा॒ दाश॑दु॒त वा॑ ह॒विष्कृ॑ति । तस्य॒ होता॑ भवसि॒ यासि॑ दू॒त्य१॒॑मुप॑ ब्रूषे॒ यज॑स्यध्वरी॒यसि॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरणरहित अग्नि! जो मनुष्य तुम्हारे लिए समिधाएं देना चाहता है अथवा यज्ञ में हवि देता है, तुम उसके होता बनते हो, दूत बनते हो, देवों को निमत्रंण देते हो एवं यजमान बनकर देवों को हवि देते हो. (११)
EN English Translation
Oh, a deathless agni! The man who wants to give samidahas for you or gives a sacrifice, you become his, you become messengers, you give invitations to gods and become hosts and give havan to gods. (11)
इ॒मा अ॑स्मै म॒तयो॒ वाचो॑ अ॒स्मदाँ ऋचो॒ गिरः॑ सुष्टु॒तयः॒ सम॑ग्मत । व॒सू॒यवो॒ वस॑वे जा॒तवे॑दसे वृ॒द्धासु॑ चि॒द्वर्ध॑नो॒ यासु॑ चा॒कन॑त् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि के लिए ही यह चिंतन, स्तुतियां और वेदमंत्र किए जाते हैं. हमारे लिए धन की अभिलाषा करने वाली शोभन स्तुतियां ऋचारूपी वाणी से निकलकर अग्नि से मिलती हैं. इन स्तुतियों के बढ़ने पर अग्ने संतुष्ट होकर धन की वृद्धि करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
It is only for the sake of agni that these contemplations, hymns and vedamantras are done. Shobhan praises that aspire for wealth for us come out of the rich voice and come from the agni. As these praises grow, Agne is satisfied and increases wealth. (12)
इ॒मां प्र॒त्नाय॑ सुष्टु॒तिं नवी॑यसीं वो॒चेय॑मस्मा उश॒ते शृ॒णोतु॑ नः । भू॒या अन्त॑रा हृ॒द्य॑स्य नि॒स्पृशे॑ जा॒येव॒ पत्य॑ उश॒ती सु॒वासाः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्राचीन एवं स्तुतियों की कामना करने वाले इस अग्नि के लिए मैं अत्यंत नवीन एवं शोभन स्तुतियां बोलता हूं. अग्नि उन्हें सुनें. जिस प्रकार पति की कामना करने वाली एवं शोभन वस्त्रो से युक्त नारी पति के हृदय से अपना शरीर मिलाती है, उसी प्रकार मैं अग्नि के मध्य भाग का स्पर्श करता हूं. (१३)
EN English Translation
I speak very innovative and beautiful praises for this agni that wishes for the ancient and the praises. Fire listen to them. Just as a woman who wishes for a husband and has adorned robes joins her body with the husband's heart, so I touch the middle part of the agni. (13)
यस्मि॒न्नश्वा॑स ऋष॒भास॑ उ॒क्षणो॑ व॒शा मे॒षा अ॑वसृ॒ष्टास॒ आहु॑ताः । की॒ला॒ल॒पे सोम॑पृष्ठाय वे॒धसे॑ हृ॒दा म॒तिं ज॑नये॒ चारु॑म॒ग्नये॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ के समय जिस अने में घोड़ों, बैलों, बिजारों, स्वभाव से बधिया मेढ़ों की आहुति दी जाती है, उस जलपान करने वाले, सोमयुक्त पीठ वाले व यज्ञविधाता अग्नि के लिए मैं हृदय से शोभन स्तुति बोलता हूं. (१४)
EN English Translation
At the time of yajna, I speak from the bottom of my heart for the refreshers, the bulls, the bulls, the seeds, the serpents, the serpents, the ones who are offered by nature, the refreshers, the somyukta peethas and the yajnavidhata agni. (14)
अहा॑व्यग्ने ह॒विरा॒स्ये॑ ते स्रु॒ची॑व घृ॒तं च॒म्वी॑व॒ सोमः॑ । वा॒ज॒सनिं॑ र॒यिम॒स्मे सु॒वीरं॑ प्रश॒स्तं धे॑हि य॒शसं॑ बृ॒हन्त॑म् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! मैं खुच में घृत एवं चमस में सोम के समान तुम्हारे मुख में हवि डालता हूं. तुम मुझे अन्न, धन, उत्तम यश सहित शोभन पुत्र दो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O agni! I put a havi in your mouth like a dhrit in a khuch and a som in a spoon. You give me the son of Shobhan with food, wealth, best praise. (15)
