क॒था म॒हाम॑वृध॒त्कस्य॒ होतु॑र्य॒ज्ञं जु॑षा॒णो अ॒भि सोम॒मूधः॑ । पिब॑न्नुशा॒नो जु॒षमा॑णो॒ अन्धो॑ वव॒क्ष ऋ॒ष्वः शु॑च॒ते धना॑य ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारी स्तुति इंद्र को किस प्रकार बढ़ावे? इंद्र प्रसन्न होकर किस होता के यज्ञ में जावें? महान् इंद्र सोमरस पीते हुए एवं हव्यरूप अन्न की अभिलाषा करते हुए किस यजमान को देने के लिए उज्ज्वल स्वर्ण आदि धारण करते हैं? (१)
EN English Translation
How do we increase our praise to Indra? What would Indra be pleased to go to the yagna? The great Indra, while drinking somras and craving for food, wears bright gold etc. to give to which host? (1)
को अ॑स्य वी॒रः स॑ध॒माद॑माप॒ समा॑नंश सुम॒तिभिः॒ को अ॑स्य । कद॑स्य चि॒त्रं चि॑किते॒ कदू॒ती वृ॒धे भु॑वच्छशमा॒नस्य॒ यज्योः॑ ॥ (२)

कौन वीर व्यक्ति इंद्र के साथ संग्राम में जाता है एवं कौन इंद्र की कृपादृष्टि प्राप्त करता है? पता नहीं इंद्र का विचित्र धन कब वितरित होगा? इंद्र स्तुति करते हुए यजमान की वृद्धि और रक्षा के लिए कब प्रवृत्त होंगे? (२)
EN English Translation
Which heroic person goes into the struggle with Indra and who receives indra's grace? Don't know when Indra's strange wealth will be distributed? When will Indra tend to increase and protect the host while praising him? (2)
क॒था शृ॑णोति हू॒यमा॑न॒मिन्द्रः॑ क॒था शृ॒ण्वन्नव॑सामस्य वेद । का अ॑स्य पू॒र्वीरुप॑मातयो ह क॒थैन॑माहुः॒ पपु॑रिं जरि॒त्रे ॥ (३)

इंद्र न जाने किस प्रकार स्तुतिकर्ता की स्तुतियां सुनते हैं एवं स्तुति करने वाले की रक्षा के उपायों को जानते हैं. इंद्र के प्रसिद्ध दान कौन से हैं? (३)

क॒था स॒बाधः॑ शशमा॒नो अ॑स्य॒ नश॑द॒भि द्रवि॑णं॒ दीध्या॑नः । दे॒वो भु॑व॒न्नवे॑दा म ऋ॒तानां॒ नमो॑ जगृ॒भ्वाँ अ॒भि यज्जुजो॑षत् ॥ (४)

शत्रुओं द्वारा पीड़ित होने पर इंद्र की स्तुति करने वाले एवं यज्ञकर्म करके प्रसिद्ध होने वाले यजमान इंद्र द्वारा दी हुई संपत्ति किस प्रकार प्राप्त करते हैं? हव्य रूप अन्न को ग्रहण करके इंद्र जब प्रसन्न होते हैं तभी हमारी स्तुतियों को विशेष रूप से जानते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
How do hosts who praise Indra and become famous by performing yajnakarma when they are afflicted by enemies get the property given by Indra? When Indra is pleased with receiving the food in the form of havan, he knows our praises in particular. (4)
क॒था कद॒स्या उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ दे॒वो मर्त॑स्य स॒ख्यं जु॑जोष । क॒था कद॑स्य स॒ख्यं सखि॑भ्यो॒ ये अ॑स्मि॒न्कामं॑ सु॒युजं॑ तत॒स्रे ॥ (५)

इंद्र उषाकाल आरंभ होने पर कब और किस प्रकार मनुष्यों की मैत्री स्वीकार करते हैं? जो स्तोता इंद्र के प्रति शोभन हवि एवं स्तोत्र प्रदान करते हैं, उनके प्रति इंद्र अपनी मित्रता किस प्रकार प्रकट करते हैं? (५)

When and in what way does Indra accept the friendship of human beings when the ushakaal begins? How does Indra express his friendship towards the hymns who offer shobhan havi and stotra to Indra? (5)
किमादम॑त्रं स॒ख्यं सखि॑भ्यः क॒दा नु ते॑ भ्रा॒त्रं प्र ब्र॑वाम । श्रि॒ये सु॒दृशो॒ वपु॑रस्य॒ सर्गाः॒ स्व१॒॑र्ण चि॒त्रत॑ममिष॒ आ गोः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम यजमान शत्रुओं का पराभव करने वाले तुम्हारी मैत्री एवं भ्रातृ प्रेम को अपने मित्र स्तोताओं से कब कहेंगे? इंद्र के सभी उद्योग स्तोताओं के कल्याण के लिए होते हैं. सूर्य के समान गतिशील इंद्र के सुंदर शरीर को सभी चाहते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When will we tell our friend hymns about your friendship and fraternal love who have defeated host enemies? All the industries of Indra are meant for the welfare of the stoetas. The beautiful body of Indra, similar to the sun dynamic, all want. (6)
द्रुहं॒ जिघां॑सन्ध्व॒रस॑मनि॒न्द्रां तेति॑क्ते ति॒ग्मा तु॒जसे॒ अनी॑का । ऋ॒णा चि॒द्यत्र॑ ऋण॒या न॑ उ॒ग्रो दू॒रे अज्ञा॑ता उ॒षसो॑ बबा॒धे ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र द्रोह करने वाले, हिंसाकारियों एवं इंद्र को न जानने वाली राक्षसी को मारने की इच्छा से अपने तेज आयुधों को अधिक तेज बनाते हैं. उषाकाल में हमें ऋण बाधा पहुंचाते हैं. ऋणहंता इंद्र हमारे अनजाने ही दूर से इन उषाओं को पीड़ित करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Indra makes his sharp weapons faster with the desire to kill the traitors, the violent, and the demon who does not know Indra. In the ushakaal, loans hinder us. The debtor Indra suffers these ushas from our unknowingly distant. (7)
ऋ॒तस्य॒ हि शु॒रुधः॒ सन्ति॑ पू॒र्वीरृ॒तस्य॑ धी॒तिर्वृ॑जि॒नानि॑ हन्ति । ऋ॒तस्य॒ श्लोको॑ बधि॒रा त॑तर्द॒ कर्णा॑ बुधा॒नः शु॒चमा॑न आ॒योः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋतदेव प्रभूत जल के स्वामी हैं. उनकी स्तुति पापों को नष्ट करती है. ऋतदेव की ज्ञानजनक एवं दीप्त स्तुति वचन बहरे आदमी के कानों में भी प्रवेश करता है. (८)
EN English Translation
Ritdev is the lord of the strong water. Their praise destroys sins. The enlightening and bright word of praise of Ritadeva also enters the ears of the deaf man. (8)
ऋ॒तस्य॑ दृ॒ळ्हा ध॒रुणा॑नि सन्ति पु॒रूणि॑ च॒न्द्रा वपु॑षे॒ वपूं॑षि । ऋ॒तेन॑ दी॒र्घमि॑षणन्त॒ पृक्ष॑ ऋ॒तेन॒ गाव॑ ऋ॒तमा वि॑वेशुः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शरीरधारी ऋतदेव के अनेक दृढ़ धारक एवं आनंदकारक रूप हैं. स्तोता ऋतदेव से अधिक अन्न की अभिलाषा करते हैं. ऋतदेव के कारण ही गाएं यज्ञ में प्रवेश करती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
There are many firm holder and pleasurable forms of the body-bearing Ritadev. The stotas desire more food than Ritadev. It is because of Ritadeva that the cows enter the yagna. (9)
ऋ॒तं ये॑मा॒न ऋ॒तमिद्व॑नोत्यृ॒तस्य॒ शुष्म॑स्तुर॒या उ॑ ग॒व्युः । ऋ॒ताय॑ पृ॒थ्वी ब॑हु॒ले ग॑भी॒रे ऋ॒ताय॑ धे॒नू प॑र॒मे दु॑हाते ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोता अपनी स्तुतियों द्वारा ऋतदेव को वश में करने के लिए ऋतदेव की सेवा करते हैं. ऋतदेव का बल जल की कामना करता है. विस्तीर्ण एवं अगम्य धरती-आकाश पर ऋतदेव का ही अधिकार है. धरती-आकाश गाय के समान उन्हें दूध देते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
The Stotas serve Ritdev to subdue Ritadev through his praises. The force of Ritadev wishes for water. It is Ritadev who has authority over the vast and inaccessible earth-sky. The earth-sky give them milk like cows. (10)
नू ष्टु॒त इ॑न्द्र॒ नू गृ॑णा॒न इषं॑ जरि॒त्रे न॒द्यो॒३॒॑ न पी॑पेः । अका॑रि ते हरिवो॒ ब्रह्म॒ नव्यं॑ धि॒या स्या॑म र॒थ्यः॑ सदा॒साः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जल सरिता को पूर्ण करता है, उसी प्रकार तुम पूर्ववर्ती ऋषियों की तथा हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर उन्हें स्वीकार करो एवं हमारा अन्न बढ़ाओ. हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! हमने तुम्हारे निमित्त नवीन स्तुतियां बनाई हैं. हम रथ के स्वामी एवं तुम्हारे सेवक बनें. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as water completes the stream, so listen to the praises of the previous sages and our praises and accept them and increase our food. O Lord indra of horses named Hari! We have made new praises for you. Let us be the masters of the chariot and your servants. (11)
