पिबा॒ सोम॑म॒भि यमु॑ग्र॒ तर्द॑ ऊ॒र्वं गव्यं॒ महि॑ गृणा॒न इ॑न्द्र । वि यो धृ॑ष्णो॒ वधि॑षो वज्रहस्त॒ विश्वा॑ वृ॒त्रम॑मि॒त्रिया॒ शवो॑भिः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उग्र इंद्र! तुमने अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों की स्तुति सुनकर जिस सोमरस के उद्देश्य से पणियों द्वारा चुराई गई गायों को खोजा था, उस सोमरस को पिओ. हे हाथ में वञ्रधारण करने वाले एवं शत्रुनाशक इंद्र! तुमने अपनी शक्तियों द्वारा सभी शत्रुओं को मारा था. (१)
EN English Translation
O furious Indra! Drink the somras for which you discovered the cows stolen by the pangs for the purpose of the Somras, when you heard the praises of the Angiragotrian sages. O Indra, the one who is in his hand and the destroyer of enemies! You killed all the enemies by your powers. (1)
स ईं॑ पाहि॒ य ऋ॑जी॒षी तरु॑त्रो॒ यः शिप्र॑वान्वृष॒भो यो म॑ती॒नाम् । यो गो॑त्र॒भिद्व॑ज्र॒भृद्यो ह॑रि॒ष्ठाः स इ॑न्द्र चि॒त्राँ अ॒भि तृ॑न्धि॒ वाजा॑न् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमलता का फोक धारण करने वाले इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं से रक्षा करने वाले, सुंदर ठोड़ी वाले एवं स्तोताओं की इच्छा पूरी करने वाले हो. हे इंद्र! तुम पर्वतों के भेदक, वज्रधारी एवं घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ने वाले हो. तुम अपना विचित्र अन्न हम पर प्रकट करो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra who holds the face of Somlata! You are the protectors of enemies, the ones with beautiful chins and the ones who fulfill the desire of the psalms. O Indra! You are the breakers of the mountains, the thunderbolt and the horses that are going to be added to the chariot. You reveal your bizarre food to us. (2)
ए॒वा पा॑हि प्र॒त्नथा॒ मन्द॑तु त्वा श्रु॒धि ब्रह्म॑ वावृ॒धस्वो॒त गी॒र्भिः । आ॒विः सूर्यं॑ कृणु॒हि पी॑पि॒हीषो॑ ज॒हि शत्रू॑ँर॒भि गा इ॑न्द्र तृन्धि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! प्राचीन काल के समान ही हमारा सोम पिओ. सोम तुम्हें प्रसन्न करें तुम हमारी स्तुतियों को सुनकर बढ़ो. तुम सूर्य को प्रकट करो. हमें अन्न प्राप्त कराओ, शत्रुओं को नष्ट करो एवं पणियों द्वारा चुराई गई गाएं खोजो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Drink our mon just like in ancient times. Mon please you, you grow up listening to our praises. You reveal the sun. Get us food, destroy our enemies, and find the cows stolen by the merchants. (3)
ते त्वा॒ मदा॑ बृ॒हदि॑न्द्र स्वधाव इ॒मे पी॒ता उ॑क्षयन्त द्यु॒मन्त॑म् । म॒हामनू॑नं त॒वसं॒ विभू॑तिं मत्स॒रासो॑ जर्हृषन्त प्र॒साह॑म् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अन्न के स्वामी इंद्र! पिया हुआ सोमरस तुझ तेजस्वी को बहुत प्रसन्न करे एवं सींच दे. तुम महान् सर्वगुणसंपन्न विभूतियुक्त एवं शत्रुपराजयकारी हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Lord of the Grain, Indra! May the drunk somras please you very much and give the water. You are the great all-powerful, the sovereign and the enemy-doer. (4)
येभिः॒ सूर्य॑मु॒षसं॑ मन्दसा॒नोऽवा॑स॒योऽप॑ दृ॒ळ्हानि॒ दर्द्र॑त् । म॒हामद्रिं॒ परि॒ गा इ॑न्द्र॒ सन्तं॑ नु॒त्था अच्यु॑तं॒ सद॑स॒स्परि॒ स्वात् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस सोम से प्रसन्न होकर तुमने गाढ़े अंधकार को नष्ट करते हुए सूर्य एवं उषा को अपने-अपने स्थान पर स्थापित किया तथा उस पर्वत के टुकड़े कर दिए जो पणियों द्वारा चुराई हुई गाएं छिपाए हुए था तथा अपनी शक्ति से स्थिर था. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Pleased with the som that you destroyed the darkness of the darkness, you installed the sun and usha in your respective places and cut the mountain into pieces which hid the cows stolen by the pangs and was steadfast with its power. (5)
तव॒ क्रत्वा॒ तव॒ तद्दं॒सना॑भिरा॒मासु॑ प॒क्वं शच्या॒ नि दी॑धः । और्णो॒र्दुर॑ उ॒स्रिया॑भ्यो॒ वि दृ॒ळ्होदू॒र्वाद्गा अ॑सृजो॒ अङ्गि॑रस्वान् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने अपने कार्यो, बुद्धि और सामर्थ्य द्वारा कमजोर गायों को दुधारू बनाया है, गायों के बाहर जाने के लिए पर्वत में द्वार बनाए हैं एवं अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों से मिलकर उन्हें घेरे से स्वतंत्र किया है. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have made weak cows milch by your actions, wisdom and power, built gates in the mountain for the cows to go out, and met the Angiragotrian sages and freed them from the circle. (6)
प॒प्राथ॒ क्षां महि॒ दंसो॒ व्यु१॒॑र्वीमुप॒ द्यामृ॒ष्वो बृ॒हदि॑न्द्र स्तभायः । अधा॑रयो॒ रोद॑सी दे॒वपु॑त्रे प्र॒त्ने मा॒तरा॑ य॒ह्वी ऋ॒तस्य॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे महान् इंद्र! तुमने अपने महान् कर्म द्वारा धरती को विशेष रूप से पूर्ण बनाया है, विस्तृत आकाश को स्थिर किया है एवं देवों के माता-पितारूप धरती-आकाश को धारण किया है. धरती-आकाश अति प्राचीन एवं उदक के जन्मदाता हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O great Indra! You have made the earth especially perfect by your great deeds, have stabilized the vast sky, and you have possessed the earth and the heavens as the parents of the gods. The earth-sky is very ancient and the originator of udaka. (7)
अध॑ त्वा॒ विश्वे॑ पु॒र इ॑न्द्र दे॒वा एकं॑ त॒वसं॑ दधिरे॒ भरा॑य । अदे॑वो॒ यद॒भ्यौहि॑ष्ट दे॒वान्स्व॑र्षाता वृणत॒ इन्द्र॒मत्र॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब वृत्र असुर ने संग्राम के लिए देवों को ललकारा तो उन्होंने तुम्हें ही अपने आगे चलने वाला बनाया. हे बलवान् इंद्र! मरुतों के युद्ध में भी तुम्हें वरण किया गया था. (८)
EN English Translation
When the Vrithra Asuras challenged the gods for the struggle, they made you the one who was ahead of them. O Balavan Indra! Even in the war of the Maruts you were chosen. (8)
अध॒ द्यौश्चि॑त्ते॒ अप॒ सा नु वज्रा॑द्द्वि॒तान॑मद्भि॒यसा॒ स्वस्य॑ म॒न्योः । अहिं॒ यदिन्द्रो॑ अ॒भ्योह॑सानं॒ नि चि॑द्वि॒श्वायुः॑ श॒यथे॑ ज॒घान॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अधिक अन्न के स्वामी इंद्र! जब तुमने आक्रमणकारी वृत्र को धरती पर सोने के लिए मार डाला था, तब तुम्हारे क्रोध एवं वज्र से आकाश भी कांप गया था (९)
EN English Translation
O Lord indra of more grain! When you killed the invading Vritra for sleeping on the earth, the sky trembled with your anger and thunderbolt.
अध॒ त्वष्टा॑ ते म॒ह उ॑ग्र॒ वज्रं॑ स॒हस्र॑भृष्टिं ववृतच्छ॒ताश्रि॑म् । निका॑मम॒रम॑णसं॒ येन॒ नव॑न्त॒महिं॒ सं पि॑णगृजीषिन् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उग्र इंद्र! त्वष्टा ने तुम्हारे लिए हजार धार एवं सौ टुकड़ों वाला वज्र बनाया था. हे सोमलता का नीरस अंश ग्रहण करने वाले इंद्र! तुमने उस वज्र द्वारा निश्चित अभिलाषा वाले शत्रुओं से भिड़ने को उतावले एवं गर्जन करते हुए वृत्र को पीस डाला था. (१०)
EN English Translation
O furious Indra! The skin made a thunderbolt of a thousand edges and a hundred pieces for you. O Indra who receives the monotonous part of Somalatha! You had grinded the vritra by the thunderbolt to take on the enemies with a certain desire by that thunderbolt. (10)
वर्धा॒न्यं विश्वे॑ म॒रुतः॑ स॒जोषाः॒ पच॑च्छ॒तं म॑हि॒षाँ इ॑न्द्र॒ तुभ्य॑म् । पू॒षा विष्णु॒स्त्रीणि॒ सरां॑सि धावन्वृत्र॒हणं॑ मदि॒रमं॒शुम॑स्मै ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! परस्पर समान प्रीति वाले मरुद्गण तुम्हें स्तोत्रं द्वारा बढ़ाते हैं. तुम्हारे लिए पूषा तथा विष्णु ने सौ भैंसे पकाए हैं तथा तीन पात्रों को नशीले एवं शत्रुनाशक सोम से भरा है. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The deserts with mutual love enhance you through hymns. For you, Pusha and Vishnu have cooked a hundred buffaloes and three characters are filled with intoxicating and hostile Som. (11)
आ क्षोदो॒ महि॑ वृ॒तं न॒दीनां॒ परि॑ष्ठितमसृज ऊ॒र्मिम॒पाम् । तासा॒मनु॑ प्र॒वत॑ इन्द्र॒ पन्थां॒ प्रार्द॑यो॒ नीची॑र॒पसः॑ समु॒द्रम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने वृत्र द्वारा रोकी हुई सब ओर स्थित नदियों के जल को बंधनमुक्त किया था एवं जलसमूह की उत्पत्ति की थी. तुमने नदियों के मार्ग को नीचा बनाया है तथा उनके जल को सागर में पहुंचाया है. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You freed the waters of the rivers on all sides blocked by the vrittar and created the pool of water. You have lowered the way of the rivers and brought their waters into the sea. (12)
ए॒वा ता विश्वा॑ चकृ॒वांस॒मिन्द्रं॑ म॒हामु॒ग्रम॑जु॒र्यं स॑हो॒दाम् । सु॒वीरं॑ त्वा स्वायु॒धं सु॒वज्र॒मा ब्रह्म॒ नव्य॒मव॑से ववृत्यात् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारी नवीन स्तुतियां इस प्रकार सभी काम करने वाले, महान्, उग्र, नित्ययुवा, शक्तिदाता, शोभन वीरों वाले, शोभन वज्रधारी, उत्तम आयुधों के स्वामी इंद्र को रक्षा के लिए प्रेरित करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
May our new praises thus inspire all the work-doers, the great, the ardent, the agile, the nityayuva, the shaktidata, the lord of the sobhan veers, the shobhan vajradhari, the lord of the best ordnances, to protect indra. (13)
स नो॒ वाजा॑य॒ श्रव॑स इ॒षे च॑ रा॒ये धे॑हि द्यु॒मत॑ इन्द्र॒ विप्रा॑न् । भ॒रद्वा॑जे नृ॒वत॑ इन्द्र सू॒रीन्दि॒वि च॑ स्मैधि॒ पार्ये॑ न इन्द्र ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम शक्तिशाली एवं बुद्धिमान् हम लोगों को बल, शक्ति, अन्न एवं धन प्रदान करो. हम भरद्वाजगोत्रीय ऋषियों को सेवकों तथा स्तुति करने वाले पुत्र-पौत्रों से युक्त करो एवं भविष्य में हमारी रक्षा करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! May you give strength, strength, food and wealth to us powerful and wise. Let us equip the rich sages with servants and sons and grandsons of praise and protect us in the future. (14)
अ॒या वाजं॑ दे॒वहि॑तं सनेम॒ मदे॑म श॒तहि॑माः सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस स्तुति द्वारा हम इंद्र द्वारा दिया हुआ अन्न प्राप्त करें एवं शोभन संतान वाले होकर सौ वर्ष तक प्रसन्न हों. (१५)
EN English Translation
Through this praise, let us receive the food given by Indra and be happy for a hundred years to have a blessed child. (15)
