सु॒त इत्त्वं निमि॑श्ल इन्द्र॒ सोमे॒ स्तोमे॒ ब्रह्म॑णि श॒स्यमा॑न उ॒क्थे । यद्वा॑ यु॒क्ताभ्यां॑ मघव॒न्हरि॑भ्यां॒ बिभ्र॒द्वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोरि॑न्द्र॒ यासि॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब सोमरस निचुड़ जाता है, महान् स्तोत्र बोलना आरंभ हो जाता है एवं वैदिक स्तुतियां होने लगती हैं, तब तुम अपने रथ में घोड़े जोड़ते हो. हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम दोनों हाथों में वज्र उठाकर रथ में जुड़े हुए दो घोड़ों की सहायता से आते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When the Somras are deserted, the great hymns begin to speak and vedic hymns begin to appear, then you add horses to your chariot. O Dhanaswami Indra! You carry a thunderbolt in both hands and come with the help of two horses attached to the chariot. (1)
यद्वा॑ दि॒वि पार्ये॒ सुष्वि॑मिन्द्र वृत्र॒हत्येऽव॑सि॒ शूर॑सातौ । यद्वा॒ दक्ष॑स्य बि॒भ्युषो॒ अबि॑भ्य॒दर॑न्धयः॒ शर्ध॑त इन्द्र॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम स्वर्ग से उस युद्ध में उपस्थित होकर हव्यदाता यजमान की रक्षा करते हो, जिस में वीर सम्मिलित होते हैं. तुम भयरहित होकर यज्ञकार्य में कुशल एवं भयभीत यजमान को बाधा पहुंचाने वाले दस्युजनों को वश में करते हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You defend the host of the human beings by participating in that war from heaven, in which the heroes are involved. You are fearlessly subdued by the bandits who are skilled in the work of yajna and obstructing the fearful host. (2)
पाता॑ सु॒तमिन्द्रो॑ अस्तु॒ सोमं॑ प्रणे॒नीरु॒ग्रो ज॑रि॒तार॑मू॒ती । कर्ता॑ वी॒राय॒ सुष्व॑य उ लो॒कं दाता॒ वसु॑ स्तुव॒ते की॒रये॑ चित् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र निचोड़े हुए सोम को पीने वाले हैं. इंद्र यज्ञकर्म में कुशल एवं भली प्रकार सोम निचोड़ने वाले एवं स्तुतिकर्तता यजमान को निवासस्थान एवं धन देते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Indra is supposed to drink the squeezed Mon. Indra is skilled in yajnakarma and gives abode and money to the soma squeezer and the praise-giving host. (3)
गन्तेया॑न्ति॒ सव॑ना॒ हरि॑भ्यां ब॒भ्रिर्वज्रं॑ प॒पिः सोमं॑ द॒दिर्गाः । कर्ता॑ वी॒रं नर्यं॒ सर्व॑वीरं॒ श्रोता॒ हवं॑ गृण॒तः स्तोम॑वाहाः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वज्र धारण करने वाले, सोमरस पीने वाले, गाएं देने वाले, मानव हितकारी एवं अनेक पुत्रों से युक्त पुत्र देने वाले, स्तोता की स्तुतियां सुनने वाले एवं स्तोत्रों द्वारा सेवनीय इंद्र इन तीनों सवनों में अपने घोड़ों की सहायता से जाते है. (४)
EN English Translation
Indra, who wears thunderbolts, drinks somras, sings, human-benefactors and gives sons with many sons, listens to the praises of the hymns and is consumed by the stotras, Indra goes to these three sawans with the help of his horses. (4)
अस्मै॑ व॒यं यद्वा॒वान॒ तद्वि॑विष्म॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ यो नः॑ प्र॒दिवो॒ अप॒स्कः । सु॒ते सोमे॑ स्तु॒मसि॒ शंस॑दु॒क्थेन्द्रा॑य॒ ब्रह्म॒ वर्ध॑नं॒ यथास॑त् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे कल्याण के लिए पोषण आदि कर्म करने वाले प्राचीन इंद्र जिन स्तोत्रों को चाहते हैं, उन्हें हम बोलते हैं. सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर हम उन्हें बुलाते हैं. वेदमंत्रों का उच्चारण करते हुए हम इंद्र को इस प्रकार हव्य देते हैं, जिससे उनकी उन्नति हो सके. (५)
EN English Translation
We speak to the hymns that the ancient Indra, who wants to do the work of nutrition etc. for our welfare. We call them when somers go to Nikud. While pronouncing the Vedamantras, we give a havya to Indra in such a way that he can progress. (5)
ब्रह्मा॑णि॒ हि च॑कृ॒षे वर्ध॑नानि॒ ताव॑त्त इन्द्र म॒तिभि॑र्विविष्मः । सु॒ते सोमे॑ सुतपाः॒ शंत॑मानि॒ राण्ड्या॑ क्रियास्म॒ वक्ष॑णानि य॒ज्ञैः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार के स्तोत्रों को तुमने स्वयं बढ़ाया है, हम उसी प्रकार के स्तोत्रों की बुद्धिपूर्वक रचना करते हैं. हे सोमपानकर्ता इंद्र! जब सोमरस निचुड़ जाता है, तब हम तुम्हारे निमित्त अतिशय सुख देने वाले, सुदंर हव्य से युक्त एवं भावपूर्ण स्तोत्र बोलते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The kind of hymns you have promoted yourself, we intelligently compose the same kind of hymns. O Sompanaker Indra! When the somras are gone, we speak for you a very pleasant, beautiful and soulful hymn. (6)
स नो॑ बोधि पुरो॒ळाशं॒ ररा॑णः॒ पिबा॒ तु सोमं॒ गोऋ॑जीकमिन्द्र । एदं ब॒र्हिर्यज॑मानस्य सीदो॒रुं कृ॑धि त्वाय॒त उ॑ लो॒कम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम प्रसन्न होकर हमारा पुरोडाश स्वीकार करो. गाय के दूध-दही से मिले सोमरस को पिओ, यजमान द्वारा बिछाए हुए कुशों पर बैठो एवं अपने भक्त यजमान का घर विस्तीर्ण करो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are pleased to accept our prayers. Drink the somras found with cow's milk and curd, sit on the cushions laid by the host and expand the house of your devout host. (7)
स म॑न्दस्वा॒ ह्यनु॒ जोष॑मुग्र॒ प्र त्वा॑ य॒ज्ञास॑ इ॒मे अ॑श्नुवन्तु । प्रेमे हवा॑सः पुरुहू॒तम॒स्मे आ त्वे॒यं धीरव॑स इन्द्र यम्याः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उग्र इंद्र! तुम अपनी इच्छा के अनुकूल प्रसन्न बनो. ये सोम तुम्हें प्राप्त हों, हमारी स्तुतियां बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए हुए इंद्र को प्राप्त हों. हे इंद्र! तुम्हें यह स्तुति हमारी रक्षा के निमित्त विवश करे. (८)
EN English Translation
O furious Indra! Be pleased to suit your desire. May these mons be received by you, may our praises be received by Indra, called by many. O Indra! May this praise compel you to protect us. (8)
तं वः॑ सखायः॒ सं यथा॑ सु॒तेषु॒ सोमे॑भिरीं पृणता भो॒जमिन्द्र॑म् । कु॒वित्तस्मा॒ अस॑ति नो॒ भरा॑य॒ न सुष्वि॒मिन्द्रोऽव॑से मृधाति ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! तुम सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर दाता इंद्र की अभिलाषाएं सोमरस द्वारा पूर्ण करो. इंद्र के लिए अधिक मात्रा में सोमरस मिले, जिससे वे हमारा पोषण कर सकें. इंद्र सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमान की तृप्ति में बाधा नहीं डालते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O stotao! When You are removed from Someras, fulfill the desires of Donor Indra through Someras. Get more summeras for Indra, so that he can nourish us. Indra Somaras does not hinder the fulfillment of the squeezing host. (9)
ए॒वेदिन्द्रः॑ सु॒ते अ॑स्तावि॒ सोमे॑ भ॒रद्वा॑जेषु॒ क्षय॒दिन्म॒घोनः॑ । अस॒द्यथा॑ जरि॒त्र उ॒त सू॒रिरिन्द्रो॑ रा॒यो वि॒श्ववा॑रस्य दा॒ता ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भरद्वाज ऋषि ने सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर हव्यरूप धन वाले यजमान के स्वामी इंद्र की स्तुति इस प्रकार की है, जिससे इंद्र स्तुतिकर्ता को सन्मार्ग की प्रेरणा देने वाले एवं सूर्य प्रिय धन के दाता बनें. (१०)
EN English Translation
The sage Bharadwaja has praised Indra, the lord of the host of the holy riches, when he goes to Somras Nichud, in such a way that Indra becomes the giver of inspiration to the praiseor and the giver of sun-loving wealth. (10)
