किम॑स्य॒ मदे॒ किम्व॑स्य पी॒ताविन्द्रः॒ किम॑स्य स॒ख्ये च॑कार । रणा॑ वा॒ ये नि॒षदि॒ किं ते अ॑स्य पु॒रा वि॑विद्रे॒ किमु॒ नूत॑नासः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने सोमरस से प्रसन्न होकर, सोमरस को पीकर एवं इससे मित्रता रखकर क्या काम किया? हे इंद्र! प्राचीन एवं नवीन स्तोताओं ने यज्ञशाला में तुमसे क्या पाया? (१)
EN English Translation
What did Indra do by being pleased with Somras, drinking Somras and being friendly with it? O Indra! What did the ancient and new stos find from you in the yajnashala? (1)
सद॑स्य॒ मदे॒ सद्व॑स्य पी॒ताविन्द्रः॒ सद॑स्य स॒ख्ये च॑कार । रणा॑ वा॒ ये नि॒षदि॒ सत्ते अ॑स्य पु॒रा वि॑विद्रे॒ सदु॒ नूत॑नासः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने सोमरस से प्रसन्न होकर, सोमरस पीकर एवं सोमरस से मित्रता स्थापित करके उत्तम कर्म किए. हे इंद्र! प्राचीन एवं नवीन स्तोताओं ने तुमसे यज्ञशाला में सत्कर्म प्राप्त किया था. (२)
EN English Translation
Indra, pleased with Somras, drank somras and made friends with somras and did good deeds. O Indra! The ancient and new stoetas received good deeds from you in the yajnashala. (2)
न॒हि नु ते॑ महि॒मनः॑ समस्य॒ न म॑घवन्मघव॒त्त्वस्य॑ वि॒द्म । न राध॑सोराधसो॒ नूत॑न॒स्येन्द्र॒ नकि॑र्ददृश इन्द्रि॒यं ते॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे समान किसी महत्त्वशाली एवं धनी को नहीं जानते. तुम्हारे समान धन का भी हमें ज्ञान नहीं है. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे समान शक्ति कोई नहीं दिखाता. (३)
EN English Translation
O Dhanaswami Indra! We don't know anyone as important or rich as you. We don't even have the same knowledge of wealth as you. O Indra! No one shows the same power as you. (3)
ए॒तत्त्यत्त॑ इन्द्रि॒यम॑चेति॒ येनाव॑धीर्व॒रशि॑खस्य॒ शेषः॑ । वज्र॑स्य॒ यत्ते॒ निह॑तस्य॒ शुष्मा॑त्स्व॒नाच्चि॑दिन्द्र पर॒मो द॒दार॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारा वह बल नहीं जानते, जिसके द्वारा तुमने वरशिख नामक राक्षस के पुत्रों का वध किया था. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे द्वारा फेंके गए वज्र के शब्द से ही अतिशय बली वरशिख के पुत्र मर गए थे. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We do not know your force by which you killed the sons of a demon named Varshikh. O Indra! It was from the sound of the thunderbolt thrown by you that the sons of Varshikh, the very sacrifice, died. (4)
वधी॒दिन्द्रो॑ व॒रशि॑खस्य॒ शेषो॑ऽभ्याव॒र्तिने॑ चायमा॒नाय॒ शिक्ष॑न् । वृ॒चीव॑तो॒ यद्ध॑रियू॒पीया॑यां॒ हन्पूर्वे॒ अर्धे॑ भि॒यसाप॑रो॒ दर्त् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने चायमान राजा के पुत्र अभ्यवर्ती को मनचाहा धन देते हुए वरशिख के पुत्रों का वध किया था. इंद्र ने जब हरियूपिया नामक नदी के एक ओर खड़े वरशिख के परिवारी वृचीवान् को मारा, तब उस नदी के दूसरे किनारे पर खड़े वरशिख के पुत्र भय से मर गए. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra had killed varshikh's sons by giving the desired money to Abhyavathi, the son of the Chaiman king. When Indra hit Vrikivaan, the family of Varshikh, standing on one side of the river Called Hariupia, the sons of Varshikh standing on the other bank of that river died of fear. (5)
त्रिं॒शच्छ॑तं व॒र्मिण॑ इन्द्र सा॒कं य॒व्याव॑त्यां पुरुहूत श्रव॒स्या । वृ॒चीव॑न्तः॒ शर॑वे॒ पत्य॑मानाः॒ पात्रा॑ भिन्दा॒ना न्य॒र्थान्या॑यन् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! तुम्हें युद्ध में मारकर यश चाहने वाले, तुम्हें मारने के लिए आक्रमणकारी, यज्ञपात्रों को तोड़ते हुए एवं कवच धारण करने वाले वरशिख के एक सौ तीस पुत्र यव्यावती नदी के समीप एक साथ ही मारे गए. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra called by many! One hundred and thirty sons of Varshikh, who killed you in battle, who wanted glory, the aggressors to kill you, the breakers of the sacrificial pots and the armor, were killed together near the Yvyavathi river. (6)
यस्य॒ गावा॑वरु॒षा सू॑यव॒स्यू अ॒न्तरू॒ षु चर॑तो॒ रेरि॑हाणा । स सृञ्ज॑याय तु॒र्वशं॒ परा॑दाद्वृ॒चीव॑तो दैववा॒ताय॒ शिक्ष॑न् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन इंद्र के तेजस्वी, सुंदर घास के इच्छुक एवं बार-बार घास का स्वाद लेने वाले घोड़े धरती-आकाश के मध्य घूमते हैं, उन इंद्र ने तुर्वश राजा को सृंजय के लिए भेंट कर दिया एवं देववाक वंश के राजा अभ्यवर्ती के कल्याण के लिए वरशिख के पुत्रों को वश में किया. (७)
EN English Translation
Indra, whose bright, beautiful grass-seeking and repeatedly tasted grass, wanders between the earth and the sky, Indra offered the Travash king for Srinjaya and subjugated the sons of Varshikh for the welfare of Abhyavathi, the king of the Devavak dynasty. (7)
द्व॒याँ अ॑ग्ने र॒थिनो॑ विंश॒तिं गा व॒धूम॑तो म॒घवा॒ मह्यं॑ स॒म्राट् । अ॒भ्या॒व॒र्ती चा॑यमा॒नो द॑दाति दू॒णाशे॒यं दक्षि॑णा पार्थ॒वाना॑म् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! अधिक धन देने वाले एवं राजयज्ञ करने वाले राजा चायमान के पुत्र अभ्यवर्ती ने हम भरद्वाजगोत्रीय ऋषियों के लिए स्त्रियों सहित रथ एवं बीस गाएं दी हैं. पृथुवंश में उत्पन्न राजा अभ्यवर्ती की दक्षिणा किसी के द्वारा नष्ट नहीं की जा सकती. (८)
EN English Translation
O agni! Abhyavarthi, the son of King Chaiman, who gives more money and performs rajayagya, has given us chariots and twenty songs along with women for the sages of Bhardwajagotriyas. The dakshina of king Abhyavathi, which is born in the Prithuvansh, cannot be destroyed by anyone. (8)
