इंद्र ने माता के समान धरती-आकाश को अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों के कल्याण के निमित्त सूर्य द्वारा चमकाया था एवं अंगिराओं की स्तुति सुनकर पर्वतों के टुकड़े किए थे. इंद्र ने शोभन ध्यान वाली स्तुतियां सुनकर गायों को बंधनमुक्त किया था. (२)

Indra, like a mother, had brightened the earth and sky by the sun for the welfare of the Angiragotrian sages and cut the mountains into pieces after listening to the praises of the Angiras. Indra had freed the cows by listening to the praises of Shobhan meditation. (2)
