उदु॒ त्यच्चक्षु॒र्महि॑ मि॒त्रयो॒राँ एति॑ प्रि॒यं वरु॑णयो॒रद॑ब्धम् । ऋ॒तस्य॒ शुचि॑ दर्श॒तमनी॑कं रु॒क्मो न दि॒व उदि॑ता॒ व्य॑द्यौत् ॥ (१)

सूर्य, मित्र एवं वरुण का प्रसिद्ध, प्रकाश करने वाला, विस्तृत, प्रिय, अहिंसित, शुद्ध एवं दर्शनीय तेज सबके सामने ऊपर उठता है एवं आकाश के आभूषण के समान प्रकाशित होता है. (१)
EN English Translation
The famous, light-doering, vivid, beloved, non-violent, pure and visible brightness of the sun, friend and Varuna rises up in front of everyone and is illuminated like the ornament of the sky. (1)
वेद॒ यस्त्रीणि॑ वि॒दथा॑न्येषां दे॒वानां॒ जन्म॑ सनु॒तरा च॒ विप्रः॑ । ऋ॒जु मर्ते॑षु वृजि॒ना च॒ पश्य॑न्न॒भि च॑ष्टे॒ सूरो॑ अ॒र्य एवा॑न् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो सूर्य तीन जानने योग्य स्थानों को जानते हैं, जो मेधावी-सूर्य इन तीनों लोकों में छिपे देवों के जन्मस्थान को जानते हैं, वे ही मानवों की भलाई-बुराई को देखते हैं एवं मानवों के स्वामी बनकर अभिलाषाएं पूरी करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The suns who know the three places of knowledge, the bright suns who know the birthplace of the gods hidden in these three realms, they see the good and evil of human beings and fulfill the desires by becoming masters of human beings. (2)
स्तु॒ष उ॑ वो म॒ह ऋ॒तस्य॑ गो॒पानदि॑तिं मि॒त्रं वरु॑णं सुजा॒तान् । अ॒र्य॒मणं॒ भग॒मद॑ब्धधीती॒नच्छा॑ वोचे सध॒न्यः॑ पाव॒कान् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम महान्, यज्ञ के रक्षक एवं शोभन जन्म वाले अदिति, मित्र, वरुण, अर्यमा एवं भग की स्तुति करते हैं. मैं अहिंसित कमो वाले, धनसंपन्न एवं पवित्र करने वाले देवों का यश वर्णन करता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
We praise the great, the protector of the yagna and the brave born Aditi, friend, Varuna, Aryama and Bhaga. I praise the non-violent kamo, the rich and the sanctifying gods. (3)
रि॒शाद॑सः॒ सत्प॑ती॒ँरद॑ब्धान्म॒हो राज्ञः॑ सुवस॒नस्य॑ दा॒तॄन् । यूनः॑ सुक्ष॒त्रान्क्षय॑तो दि॒वो नॄना॑दि॒त्यान्या॒म्यदि॑तिं दुवो॒यु ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हिंसकों को दूर भगाने वाले, सज्जनों का पालन करने वाले, अपराजेय, महान्, स्वामी, शोभन-निवासस्थान देने वाले, युवा शोभन-बल वाले, सर्वव्यापक एवं स्वर्ग के नेता आदित्यो! मैं अपनी परिचर्या करने वाली अदिति की शरण जाता हूं. (४)
EN English Translation
O you who drive away the violent, follow the gentlemen, the unbeatable, the great, the masters, the givers of adornment, the young adornments, the all-encompassing and the leaders of heaven, Adityas! I go to the shelter of Aditi, who takes care of me. (4)
द्यौ॒३॒॑ष्पितः॒ पृथि॑वि॒ मात॒रध्रु॒गग्ने॑ भ्रातर्वसवो मृ॒ळता॑ नः । विश्व॑ आदित्या अदिते स॒जोषा॑ अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ शर्म॑ बहु॒लं वि य॑न्त ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पिता रूप स्वर्ग, माता रूप धरती एवं भ्राता रूप अग्नि तथा वसुओ! तुम सब हमें सुखी करो. हे सब आदित्यो एवं अदिति! तुम समान प्रेम वाले होकर हमं अधिक सुख दो. (५)
EN English Translation
O father as heaven, mother as earth and brotherly form agni and vasuo! All of you make us happy. Hey all Aditya and Aditi! You have the same love and give us more happiness. (5)
मा नो॒ वृका॑य वृ॒क्ये॑ समस्मा अघाय॒ते री॑रधता यजत्राः । यू॒यं हि ष्ठा र॒थ्यो॑ नस्त॒नूनां॑ यू॒यं दक्ष॑स्य॒ वच॑सो बभू॒व ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञपात्र देवो! हमारा अनिष्ट चाहने वाले वृक एवं वृकी को हमे मत सौंपना. तुम ही हमारे शरीर, बल और वाणी के रक्षक रहे हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O god of yajnapatra! Don't give us the kidneys and kidneys that want us to be evil. You are the protector of our body, strength and speech. (6)
मा व॒ एनो॑ अ॒न्यकृ॑तं भुजेम॒ मा तत्क॑र्म वसवो॒ यच्चय॑ध्वे । विश्व॑स्य॒ हि क्षय॑थ विश्वदेवाः स्व॒यं रि॒पुस्त॒न्वं॑ रीरिषीष्ट ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! तुम्हारे कृपापात्र हम दूसरों के द्वारा किए गए पाप का कष्ट न भोगें. हे वसुओ! हम वह काम न करें, जिसके लिए तुम मना करो. हे विश्वेदेव! तुम सबके स्वामी हो. हमारा शत्रु अपने शरीर का स्वयं नाश करे. (७)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! Please, please, let us not suffer from the sin sin committed by others. O Vasuo! Let's not do the work for which you refuse. O God! You are the master of all. Let our enemy destroy his own body. (7)
नम॒ इदु॒ग्रं नम॒ आ वि॑वासे॒ नमो॑ दाधार पृथि॒वीमु॒त द्याम् । नमो॑ दे॒वेभ्यो॒ नम॑ ईश एषां कृ॒तं चि॒देनो॒ नम॒सा वि॑वासे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नमस्कार सबसे बढ़कर है. इसी कारण मैं नमस्कार करता हूं. नमस्कार ने ही धरती और स्वर्ग को धारण किया है. देवों को नमस्कार है. नमस्कार इन देवों का स्वामी है. मैं नमस्कार द्वारा पापों को दूर करता हूं. (८)
EN English Translation
Hello is the most. That's why I greet. It is the salutation that holds the earth and the heaven. Greetings to the gods. Greetings are the lord of these gods. I remove sins by greetings. (8)
ऋ॒तस्य॑ वो र॒थ्यः॑ पू॒तद॑क्षानृ॒तस्य॑ पस्त्य॒सदो॒ अद॑ब्धान् । ताँ आ नमो॑भिरुरु॒चक्ष॑सो॒ नॄन्विश्वा॑न्व॒ आ न॑मे म॒हो य॑जत्राः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञपात्र देवो! तुम यज्ञ के नेता, शुद्ध शक्ति वाले यज्ञशाला में निवास करने वाले, अपराजेय, दूरदर्शी, नेता एवं महान् हो. मैं तुम्हारे सामने नमस्कार-वचन के साथ झुकता हूं. (९)
EN English Translation
O god of yajnapatra! You are the leader of the yajna, the one who dwells in the yajnashala of pure power, the invincible, the visionary, the leader and the great. I bow before you with a word of greeting. (9)
ते हि श्रेष्ठ॑वर्चस॒स्त उ॑ नस्ति॒रो विश्वा॑नि दुरि॒ता नय॑न्ति । सु॒क्ष॒त्रासो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निरृ॒तधी॑तयो वक्म॒राज॑सत्याः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वरुण, मित्र और अग्नि उत्तम-शक्तिसंपन्न, सत्य-कर्म वाले एवं स्तोताओं के प्रति सच्चे हैं. वे श्रेष्ठ तेज वाले हैं. वे हमारे सभी दुर्गुणों का नाश करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
Varuna, friends and agni are the best-powered, the true-doers and the true to the hymns. They are the best fast ones. Let them destroy all our vices. (10)
ते न॒ इन्द्रः॑ पृथि॒वी क्षाम॑ वर्धन्पू॒षा भगो॒ अदि॑तिः॒ पञ्च॒ जनाः॑ । सु॒शर्मा॑णः॒ स्वव॑सः सुनी॒था भव॑न्तु नः सुत्रा॒त्रासः॑ सुगो॒पाः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र, पृथ्वी, पूषा, भग, अदिति और पंचजन हमारे पृथ्वी के निवासस्थान को बढ़ावें. ये देवगण हमारे प्रति उत्तमसुख देने वाले, शोभन-अन्नदाता, सफलतापूर्वक मार्गदर्शक, शोभनरक्षक एवं त्राणदाता बनें. (११)
EN English Translation
May Indra, Prithvi, Pusha, Bhaga, Aditi and Panchajan increase the abode of our earth. These gods should be the best-givers of us, givers of good luck, givers, successful guides, protectors and traversers. (11)
नू स॒द्मानं॑ दि॒व्यं नंशि॑ देवा॒ भार॑द्वाजः सुम॒तिं या॑ति॒ होता॑ । आ॒सा॒नेभि॒र्यज॑मानो मि॒येधै॑र्दे॒वानां॒ जन्म॑ वसू॒युर्व॑वन्द ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! भरद्वाजगोत्रीय होता अर्थात् मुझको एक दिव्य-भवन प्रदान करो. मैं तुम्हारी कृपादृष्टि चाहता हूं. यजमान अन्य मेधावी-स्तोताओं के साथ बैठकर धन की अभिलाषा से देवों के समूह की वंदना करता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! It would have been a bharadwagotrian, that is, give me a divine building. I want your kind vision. The host sits with other bright-verses and worships the group of gods with the desire for wealth. (12)
अप॒ त्यं वृ॑जि॒नं रि॒पुं स्ते॒नम॑ग्ने दुरा॒ध्य॑म् । द॒वि॒ष्ठम॑स्य सत्पते कृ॒धी सु॒गम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सज्जनों के रक्षक अग्नि! तुम कुटिल, पापकारी, दुःखदायी एवं कष्ट से वश में आने वाले शत्रु को हमसे दूर करो एवं हमें सुख दो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O agni the protector of the gentlemen! You remove from us the evil, the sinful, the grieving and the afflicting enemy and make us happy. (13)
ग्रावा॑णः सोम नो॒ हि कं॑ सखित्व॒नाय॑ वाव॒शुः । ज॒ही न्य१॒॑त्रिणं॑ प॒णिं वृको॒ हि षः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! हमारे पत्थर तुम्हारी मित्रता की अभिलाषा करते हैं. तुम अधिक खाने वाले पणि को मारो. वह निश्चय ही बुरा है. (१४)

Hey Mon! Our stones desire your friendship. You kill the over-eating pany. He's definitely bad. (14)
यू॒यं हि ष्ठा सु॑दानव॒ इन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठा अ॒भिद्य॑वः । कर्ता॑ नो॒ अध्व॒न्ना सु॒गं गो॒पा अ॒मा ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र-प्रमुख देवो! तुम शोभन-दान वाले एवं दीप्तिसंपन्न हो. हमारे मार्गो को सुरक्षित बनाओ एवं सुख दो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra-chief gods! You are blessed and bright. Make our paths safe and give happiness. (15)
अपि॒ पन्था॑मगन्महि स्वस्ति॒गाम॑ने॒हस॑म् । येन॒ विश्वाः॒ परि॒ द्विषो॑ वृ॒णक्ति॑ वि॒न्दते॒ वसु॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम उस सुगम एवं पापरहित मार्ग को पा गए हैं, जिस पर चलने से सभी शत्रु नष्ट होते हैं और धन प्राप्त होता है. (१६)

We have found the easy and sinless path on which all enemies are destroyed and wealth is obtained. (16)
