त्वम॑ग्ने व्रत॒पा अ॑सि दे॒व आ मर्त्ये॒ष्वा । त्वं य॒ज्ञेष्वीड्यः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! तुम मनुष्यों में यज्ञकर्म की रक्षा करने वाले हो एवं यज्ञ में प्रशंसा करने योग्य हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O God of agni! You are the one who protects the yagnakarma among human beings and are worthy of praise in the yajna. (1)
त्वम॑सि प्र॒शस्यो॑ वि॒दथे॑षु सहन्त्य । अग्ने॑ र॒थीर॑ध्व॒राणा॑म् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं को हराने वाले अग्नि! तुम यज्ञां में प्रशंसा करने योग्य एवं यज्ञों के नेता हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni that defeats the enemies! You are worthy of praise in the yajnas and the leader of the yajnas. (2)
स त्वम॒स्मदप॒ द्विषो॑ युयो॒धि जा॑तवेदः । अदे॑वीरग्ने॒ अरा॑तीः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! तुम हमारे शत्रुओं को हमसे अलग करो. हे अग्नि! देवों से द्वेष रखने वाले शत्रुसेनाओं को तुम अलग करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Jativeda Agni! You separate our enemies from us. O agni! Separate the enemy forces who have hatred against the gods. (3)
अन्ति॑ चि॒त्सन्त॒मह॑ य॒ज्ञं मर्त॑स्य रि॒पोः । नोप॑ वेषि जातवेदः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! तुम शत्रु के पास रहकर भी कभी उसके यज्ञ की इच्छा नहीं करते. (४)
EN English Translation
O Jativeda Agni! You never wish to pray to the enemy even if you stay with him. (4)
मर्ता॒ अम॑र्त्यस्य ते॒ भूरि॒ नाम॑ मनामहे । विप्रा॑सो जा॒तवे॑दसः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम मरणधर्मा ब्राहमण तुझ मरणरहित अग्नि की विशाल स्तुतियां करेंगे. (५)
EN English Translation
We, the moribund Brahmins, will make you great praises of the unmasked agni. (5)
विप्रं॒ विप्रा॒सोऽव॑से दे॒वं मर्ता॑स ऊ॒तये॑ । अ॒ग्निं गी॒र्भिर्ह॑वामहे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम मरणधर्मा ब्राहमण मेधावी अग्नि देव को अपनी रक्षा की दृष्टि से स्तुतियों द्वारा बुलाते हैं और हव्य द्वारा उन्हें प्रसन्न करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
We call the moribund Brahmin bright agni god with praises with a view to protecting him and please him by havya. (6)
आ ते॑ व॒त्सो मनो॑ यमत्पर॒माच्चि॑त्स॒धस्था॑त् । अग्ने॒ त्वांका॑मया गि॒रा ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! वत्सगोत्रीय ऋषि तुम्हारे उत्तम निवास स्थान से तुम्हें बुला लेते हैं. वे अपनी स्तुति द्वारा हमारी कामना करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! The sage Vatsagotriya calls you from your best abode. They wish us by their praise. (7)
पु॒रु॒त्रा हि स॒दृङ्ङसि॒ विशो॒ विश्वा॒ अनु॑ प्र॒भुः । स॒मत्सु॑ त्वा हवामहे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम बहुत से स्थानों को समानरूप से देखते हो. इसलिए तुम सारी प्रजाओं के अधिपति हो. हम तुम्हें युद्ध में बुलाते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
O agni! You see a lot of places evenly. Therefore you are the master of all the people. We call you into battle. (8)
स॒मत्स्व॒ग्निमव॑से वाज॒यन्तो॑ हवामहे । वाजे॑षु चि॒त्ररा॑धसम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम अन्न की अभिलाषा से युद्ध में अपनी रक्षा करने के लिए अग्नि को बुलाते हैं. युद्ध में अग्नि विचित्र धन वाले हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
We call upon agni to protect ourselves in battle from the desire of food. Fire in war has strange wealth. (9)
प्र॒त्नो हि क॒मीड्यो॑ अध्व॒रेषु॑ स॒नाच्च॒ होता॒ नव्य॑श्च॒ सत्सि॑ । स्वां चा॑ग्ने त॒न्वं॑ पि॒प्रय॑स्वा॒स्मभ्यं॑ च॒ सौभ॑ग॒मा य॑जस्व ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ में पूज्य, प्राचीन, बहुत समय से हवन करने वाले, स्तुति के योग्य एवं यज्ञ में स्थित रहने वाले हो. तुम अपना शरीर हवि से प्रसन्न करो और हमें सौभाग्य दो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are revered in the yajna, the ancient, the one who has been performing havan for a long time, worthy of praise and being in the yajna. Please your body and give us good fortune. (10)
