य इ॑न्द्र सोम॒पात॑मो॒ मदः॑ शविष्ठ॒ चेत॑ति । येना॒ हंसि॒ न्य१॒॑त्रिणं॒ तमी॑महे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमरस पीने वालों में श्रेष्ठ एवं अतिशय बलशाली इंद्र! तुम प्रसन्न होकर अपने कर्त्तव्य जानते हो. हम तुम्हारी उस प्रसन्नता की याचना करते हैं, जिसके कारण तुम राक्षसो को मारते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Somers, the best and the mightiest of those who drink! You know your duties by being happy. We beg of your happiness that causes you to kill demons. (1)
येना॒ दश॑ग्व॒मध्रि॑गुं वे॒पय॑न्तं॒ स्व॑र्णरम् । येना॑ समु॒द्रमावि॑था॒ तमी॑महे ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! हम तुमसे उसी मदपूर्ण स्थिति में आने की याचना करते हैं, जिसके कारण तुमने अंगिरागोत्रीय, अंधकार नाश करने वाले सूर्य एवं समुद्र की रक्षा की थी. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We beseech you to come to the same wineful position that protected the Angiragothian, the dark-destroying sun and the sea. (2)
येन॒ सिन्धुं॑ म॒हीर॒पो रथा॑ँ इव प्रचो॒दयः॑ । पन्था॑मृ॒तस्य॒ यात॑वे॒ तमी॑महे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस मद के कारण तुम विशाल जलों का रथ के समान सागर की ओर भेजते हो, हम यज्ञ के मार्ग पर चलने के लिए तुमसे उसी मद की दशा में होने की याचना करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The item by which you send great waters to the ocean like a chariot, we beseech you to be in the same condition to walk on the path of the yajna. (3)
इ॒मं स्तोम॑म॒भिष्ट॑ये घृ॒तं न पू॒तम॑द्रिवः । येना॒ नु स॒द्य ओज॑सा व॒वक्षि॑थ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! हमें मनचाहा फल देने के लिए घृत के समान पवित्र हमारे उस स्तोत्र को जानो, जिसे सुनकर तुम तुरंत अपने बल से हमारी अभिलाषा पूरी करते हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! To give us the desired fruit, know our hymn, holy as a curse, by listening to which you immediately fulfill our desire by your own strength. (4)
इ॒मं जु॑षस्व गिर्वणः समु॒द्र इ॑व पिन्वते । इन्द्र॒ विश्वा॑भिरू॒तिभि॑र्व॒वक्षि॑थ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्बुतियां सुनने वाले इंद्र! हमारे इस स्तोत्र को स्वीकार करो. यह चंद्रोदय के समय बढ़ने वाले सागर के समान बढ़ता है. तुम उसी स्तोत्र के कारण हमें समस्त रक्षासाधनों द्वारा कल्याण देते हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra who hears the sbutis! Accept this hymn of ours. It grows like an ocean that grows at the time of moonrise. You give us welfare by all means of defence because of the same hymn. (5)
यो नो॑ दे॒वः प॑रा॒वतः॑ सखित्व॒नाय॑ माम॒हे । दि॒वो न वृ॒ष्टिं प्र॒थय॑न्व॒वक्षि॑थ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र देव! तुमने दूर देश से आकर हमारी मैत्रीभावना बढ़ाने के लिए हमें धन दिया है. तुम हमारा धन अंतरिक्ष से होने वाली वर्षा के समान बढ़ाओ एवं हमें कल्याण देने की इच्छा करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O God of Indra! You have come from a distant country and given us money to increase our friendship. You increase our wealth like the rain from space and wish to give us welfare. (6)
व॒व॒क्षुर॑स्य के॒तवो॑ उ॒त वज्रो॒ गभ॑स्त्योः । यत्सूर्यो॒ न रोद॑सी॒ अव॑र्धयत् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र जब सूर्य के समान द्यावा-पृथिवी को वर्षा द्वारा बढ़ाते हैं, तब इंद्र के रथ पर लगे ध्वज एवं उनका वज्र हमें अनेक कल्याण देते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
When Indra increases the dyava-prithvivi like the sun by rain, the flags on Indra's chariot and his thunderbolt give us many good. (7)
यदि॑ प्रवृद्ध सत्पते स॒हस्रं॑ महि॒षाँ अघः॑ । आदित्त॑ इन्द्रि॒यं महि॒ प्र वा॑वृधे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय महान् एवं सज्जनों के पालक इंद्र! जिस समय तुमने हजारों महान् राक्षसों को मारा था, उसके बाद ही तुम्हारा बल महान् रूप से बढ़ा था. (८)
EN English Translation
O indra, the great man and the father of the gentlemen! It was only after you killed thousands of great demons that your strength grew greatly. (8)
इन्द्रः॒ सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभि॒र्न्य॑र्शसा॒नमो॑षति । अ॒ग्निर्वने॑व सास॒हिः प्र वा॑वृधे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार अग्नि वनों को जलाते हैं, उसी प्रकार इंद्र सूर्य की किरणों द्वारा बाधक राक्षसों को ठीक से जलाते हैं एवं शत्रुओं को पराजित करते हुए बढ़ते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Just as agni burns forests, Indra burns the demons that are hindered by the rays of the sun properly and grows defeating the enemies. (9)
इ॒यं त॑ ऋ॒त्विया॑वती धी॒तिरे॑ति॒ नवी॑यसी । स॒प॒र्यन्ती॑ पुरुप्रि॒या मिमी॑त॒ इत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! विभिन्न ऋतुओं में होने वाले यज्ञकमाँ से युक्त, अतिशय नवीन, आदर करती हुई एवं अधिक प्रसन्नताकारक यह स्तुति तुम्हारे पास जाती है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! This praise that is very new, respectful and more joyful, with the yajnakamas that take place in different seasons, goes to you. (10)
गर्भो॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॑ देव॒युः क्रतुं॑ पुनीत आनु॒षक् । स्तोमै॒रिन्द्र॑स्य वावृधे॒ मिमी॑त॒ इत् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ करने वाला स्तोता इंद्र को दयालु करने की अभिलाषा से दशापवित्र द्वारा इंद्र के पान हेतु सोमरस को पुनीत करता है, स्तोत्रों द्वारा इंद्र को बढ़ाता है एवं स्तोत्रों द्वारा इंद्र के गुणों को सीमित करता है. (११)
EN English Translation
The hymn who performs the yajna, with the desire to please Indra, worships the Somras for the paan of Indra through dashapavittra, increases Indra by the stotras and limits the qualities of Indra through the hymns. (11)
स॒निर्मि॒त्रस्य॑ पप्रथ॒ इन्द्रः॒ सोम॑स्य पी॒तये॑ । प्राची॒ वाशी॑व सुन्व॒ते मिमी॑त॒ इत् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र स्तोता को धन देने वाले इंद्र ने सोमरस पीने के लिए अपना शरीर उसी प्रकार बढ़ा लिया है, जिस प्रकार सोमरस निचोड़ने वाला यजमान अपने स्तुतिवचन का विस्तार करता है एवं इंद्र के गुणों की सीमा बांधता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
Indra, who gave wealth to the friend Stota, has enlarged his body to drink somers in the same way that the host who squeezes the somras expands his hymn and limits indra's qualities. (12)
यं विप्रा॑ उ॒क्थवा॑हसोऽभिप्रम॒न्दुरा॒यवः॑ । घृ॒तं न पि॑प्य आ॒सन्यृ॒तस्य॒ यत् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेधावी एवं स्तोत्र वहन करने वाले मनुष्य जिन इंद्र को भली प्रकार प्रमुदित करते हैं, उन्हीं इंद्र के मुख में मैं घृत के समान हव्य डालूंगा. (१३)
EN English Translation
In the mouth of the same Indra, whom the meritorious and the psalm-carrying man loves well, I will put a havan like a curse. (13)
उ॒त स्व॒राजे॒ अदि॑तिः॒ स्तोम॒मिन्द्रा॑य जीजनत् । पु॒रु॒प्र॒श॒स्तमू॒तय॑ ऋ॒तस्य॒ यत् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अदिति ने अपनी रक्षा के विचार से स्वयं प्रदीप्त के लिए बहुतों द्वारा प्रशंसित एवं यज्ञ संबंधी स्तोत्र उत्पन्न किया था. (१४)
EN English Translation
Aditi had produced many acclaimed and sacrificial hymns for her own enlightenment with the idea of protecting herself. (14)
अ॒भि वह्न॑य ऊ॒तयेऽनू॑षत॒ प्रश॑स्तये । न दे॑व॒ विव्र॑ता॒ हरी॑ ऋ॒तस्य॒ यत् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋत्विज् रक्षा एवं प्रशंसा पाने के लिए इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. हे इंद्र देव! इस समय विविध कर्म करने वाले घोड़े तुम्हें यज्ञ के लिए ढोते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
Ritwij praises Indra for protecting and getting praise. O God of Indra! At this time, horses doing various deeds carry you for yajna. (15)
यत्सोम॑मिन्द्र॒ विष्ण॑वि॒ यद्वा॑ घ त्रि॒त आ॒प्त्ये । यद्वा॑ म॒रुत्सु॒ मन्द॑से॒ समिन्दु॑भिः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यद्यपि तुम विष्णु के आने पर सोमरस पीते हो अथवा जलपुत्र त्रित राजर्षि के यज्ञ में सोमरस पीते हो अथवा मरुतों के आने पर सोमरस पीते हो, फिर भी तुम हमारा सोम पीकर ही प्रसन्न बनो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Even though you drink somras when Vishnu comes or drink somers in the yagna of Jalputra Trita Rajarshi or you drink somras when the maruts come, you should be happy only by drinking our som. (16)
यद्वा॑ शक्र परा॒वति॑ समु॒द्रे अधि॒ मन्द॑से । अ॒स्माक॒मित्सु॒ते र॑णा॒ समिन्दु॑भिः ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली इंद्र! यद्यपि तुम दूरवर्ती सोमरस से प्रसन्न होते हो, तथापि हमारा सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर उसके द्वारा प्रसन्न बनो. (१७)
EN English Translation
O mighty Indra! Although you are pleased with the distant Somras, be pleased with it when our somras go away. (17)
यद्वासि॑ सुन्व॒तो वृ॒धो यज॑मानस्य सत्पते । उ॒क्थे वा॒ यस्य॒ रण्य॑सि॒ समिन्दु॑भिः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सज्जनों के पालक इंद्र! तुम सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले जिस यजमान को बढ़ाते हो एवं मंत्रों से प्रसन्न होते हो, उसका सोमरस पीकर प्रमुदित बनो. (१८)
EN English Translation
O lord of the gentlemen Indra! Be merry by drinking the somras of the somas that you raise and are pleased with the mantras. (18)
दे॒वंदे॑वं॒ वोऽव॑स॒ इन्द्र॑मिन्द्रं गृणी॒षणि॑ । अधा॑ य॒ज्ञाय॑ तु॒र्वणे॒ व्या॑नशुः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमान! तुम्हारी रक्षा के लिए मैं जिन इंद्र की स्तुतियां करना चाहता हू, मेरी स्तुतियां शीघ्र सेवा एवं यज्ञ के लिए उसी इंद्र को व्याप्त करें. (१९)
EN English Translation
O host! May the Indra whom I wish to praise for your protection, may my praises permeate the same Indra for quick service and yajna. (19)
य॒ज्ञेभि॑र्य॒ज्ञवा॑हसं॒ सोमे॑भिः सोम॒पात॑मम् । होत्रा॑भि॒रिन्द्रं॑ वावृधु॒र्व्या॑नशुः ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोतागण यज्ञों द्वारा यजमान को फल देने वाले एवं सोमरस पीने वालों में श्रेष्ठ इंद्र को सोम एवं स्तुतियों द्वारा बढ़ाते एवं व्याप्त करते हैं. (२०)
EN English Translation
The Stotaganas raise and permeate Indra, the best of those who bear fruit to the host through yajnas and drink somras, through somas and hymns. (20)
म॒हीर॑स्य॒ प्रणी॑तयः पू॒र्वीरु॒त प्रश॑स्तयः । विश्वा॒ वसू॑नि दा॒शुषे॒ व्या॑नशुः ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र का धनदान महान् एवं यश विस्तृत है. इंद्र हव्यदाता यजमान को देने के लिए सभी धन व्याप्त करते हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
Indra's wealth is great and fame is vast. Indra havyadata covers all the money to give to the host. (21)
इन्द्रं॑ वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे दे॒वासो॑ दधिरे पु॒रः । इन्द्रं॒ वाणी॑रनूषता॒ समोज॑से ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों ने वृत्र को मारने के लिए इंद्र को अपने अग्रभाग में स्वामी बनाकर रखा था. वाणियां उचित बल पाने के लिए इंद्र की ठीक से स्तुति करती हैं. (२२)
EN English Translation
The devas had kept Indra as the master in their forearm to kill Vritra. The vanis properly praise Indra for getting proper strength. (22)
म॒हान्तं॑ महि॒ना व॒यं स्तोमे॑भिर्हवन॒श्रुत॑म् । अ॒र्कैर॒भि प्र णो॑नुमः॒ समोज॑से ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम सर्वाधिक महान् एवं पुकार सुनने वाले इंद्र को उचित बल की प्राप्ति के लिए स्तोत्रों तथा मंत्रों द्वारा स्तुत करते हैं. (२३)
EN English Translation
We praise indra, the greatest and the hearer of the call, with hymns and mantras for the attainment of the right force. (23)
न यं वि॑वि॒क्तो रोद॑सी॒ नान्तरि॑क्षाणि व॒ज्रिण॑म् । अमा॒दिद॑स्य तित्विषे॒ समोज॑सः ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
द्यावा-पृथिवी और आकाश जिस वज्रधारी इंद्र को अपने से अलग नहीं कर सकते, उन्हीं इंद्र की शक्ति से शक्ति पाने हेतु सारा संसार दीप्त होता है. (२४)
EN English Translation
The whole world is illuminated to get power from the power of indra, which the vajradhari indra and the sky cannot separate from themselves. (24)
यदि॑न्द्र पृत॒नाज्ये॑ दे॒वास्त्वा॑ दधि॒रे पु॒रः । आदित्ते॑ हर्य॒ता हरी॑ ववक्षतुः ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब देवों ने तुम्हें संग्राम में स्वामी के रूप में आगे किया था, उसी समय सुंदर घोड़ों ने तुम्हें ढोया था. (२५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When the gods led you as masters in the struggle, at the same time beautiful horses carried you away. (25)
य॒दा वृ॒त्रं न॑दी॒वृतं॒ शव॑सा वज्रि॒न्नव॑धीः । आदित्ते॑ हर्य॒ता हरी॑ ववक्षतुः ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! तुमने जल को रोकने वाले वृत्र को जिस समय मारा था, उसी समय तुम्हारे सुंदर घोड़ों ने तुम्हें ढोया था. (२६)
EN English Translation
O thunderbolt Indra! At the time you hit the water-stopping vritra, your beautiful horses carried you. (26)
य॒दा ते॒ विष्णु॒रोज॑सा॒ त्रीणि॑ प॒दा वि॑चक्र॒मे । आदित्ते॑ हर्य॒ता हरी॑ ववक्षतुः ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे छोटे भाई विष्णु ने जिस समय अपने बल से तीन लोकों को अपने तीन कदमों से नापा था, उसी समय तुम्हारे सुंदर घोड़ों ने तुम्हें ढोया था. (२७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! At the time when your younger brother Vishnu measured the three lokas with his three steps with his own strength, your beautiful horses carried you. (27)
य॒दा ते॑ हर्य॒ता हरी॑ वावृ॒धाते॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे । आदित्ते॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि येमिरे ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे सुंदर घोड़े जब प्रतिदिन बढ़े थे, उसी के बाद तुमने सारे संसार को नियम में बांधा था. (२८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When your beautiful horses grew every day, after that you bound the whole world in the law. (28)
य॒दा ते॒ मारु॑ती॒र्विश॒स्तुभ्य॑मिन्द्र नियेमि॒रे । आदित्ते॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि येमिरे ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब तुम्हारी मरुद्गणरूपी प्रजा तुम्हारे लिए सब प्राणियों को नियम में बांधती हैं, उसी के बाद तुम सारे विश्व को नियमित करते हो. (२९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When your desert people bind all beings to you in the law, then you regulate the whole world. (29)
य॒दा सूर्य॑म॒मुं दि॒वि शु॒क्रं ज्योति॒रधा॑रयः । आदित्ते॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि येमिरे ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम उज्ज्वल प्रकाश वाले सूर्य को जिस समय द्युलोक में धारण करते हो, उसी समय सारे संसार को नियमों में बांधते हो. (३०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! At the time you hold the sun of bright light in the dolok, you bind the whole world in the rules. (30)
