व॒यमु॒ त्वाम॑पूर्व्य स्थू॒रं न कच्चि॒द्भर॑न्तोऽव॒स्यवः॑ । वाजे॑ चि॒त्रं ह॑वामहे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अपूर्व इंद्र! हम रक्षा पाने की इच्छा से तुम्हें सोमरस द्वारा पुष्ट करके इस प्रकार बुलाते हैं, जैसे कोई गुणी मनुष्य को बुलाता है. तुम संग्राम में भांति-भांति के रूप धारण करते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O you indomitable Indra! We call you by affirming you by somers, with the desire to be protected, as if someone calls upon a virtuous man. You take different forms in the struggle. (1)
उप॑ त्वा॒ कर्म॑न्नू॒तये॒ स नो॒ युवो॒ग्रश्च॑क्राम॒ यो धृ॒षत् । त्वामिद्ध्य॑वि॒तारं॑ ववृ॒महे॒ सखा॑य इन्द्र सान॒सिम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम यज्ञकर्म की रक्षा के लिए तुम्हारे पास आते हैं. युवा, उग्र एवं शत्रुपराभवकारी इंद्र हमारे सामने आवें. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे मित्र हम लोग सेवा करने योग्य एवं सबके रक्षक तुम्हारा वरण करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We come to you to protect the yajnakarma. Let the young, furious and hostile Indra come before us. O Indra! Your friends, we choose you to be worthy of service and to be the protector of all. (2)
आ या॑ही॒म इन्द॒वोऽश्व॑पते॒ गोप॑त॒ उर्व॑रापते । सोमं॑ सोमपते पिब ॥ (३)

हे अश्चों के स्वामी, गायों का पालन करने वाले, उपजाऊ भूमि के स्वामी एवं सेनापति इंद्र। यहां आओ और सोमरस पिओ. (३)
EN English Translation
O lord of the ashes, the one who rears the cows, the lord of the fertile land and the general indra. Come here and drink somers. (3)
व॒यं हि त्वा॒ बन्धु॑मन्तमब॒न्धवो॒ विप्रा॑स इन्द्र येमि॒म । या ते॒ धामा॑नि वृषभ॒ तेभि॒रा ग॑हि॒ विश्वे॑भिः॒ सोम॑पीतये ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बांधवों वाले इंद्र! हम बांधवहीन विप्र तुम्हारे समीप मित्रता से आते हैं. हे अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र! तुम अपने समस्त तेजों के साथ सोमरस पीने के लिए आओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra of the brothers! We are bound to come to you from friendship. Oh, this desireful Indra! You come to drink somers with all your radiance. (4)
सीद॑न्तस्ते॒ वयो॑ यथा॒ गोश्री॑ते॒ मधौ॑ मदि॒रे वि॒वक्ष॑णे । अ॒भि त्वामि॑न्द्र नोनुमः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! गाय के दूध-दही से मिले हुए मदकारक एवं स्वर्गप्राप्ति के हेतु तुम्हारे सोमरस में हम पक्षियों के समान निवास करते हैं एवं तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! In your somras we live like birds and praise you for the sake of being cured and heavenly mixed with cow's milk and curd. (5)
अच्छा॑ च त्वै॒ना नम॑सा॒ वदा॑मसि॒ किं मुहु॑श्चि॒द्वि दी॑धयः । सन्ति॒ कामा॑सो हरिवो द॒दिष्ट्वं स्मो व॒यं सन्ति॑ नो॒ धियः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे अभिमुख होकर इस स्तीत्र द्वारा तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. तुम क्यों व्यर्थ चिंता करते हो? हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम्हारी बहुत सी अभिलाषाएं हैं. तुम दान करने वाले हो. हम एवं हमारे यज्ञकर्म तुम्हारे ही समीप हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We are attracted to you and praise you through this psalm. Why do you worry in vain? O Indra, lord of horses named Hari! You have a lot of desires. You're the one to donate. We and our sacrificial works are close to you. (6)
नूत्ना॒ इदि॑न्द्र ते व॒यमू॒ती अ॑भूम न॒हि नू ते॑ अद्रिवः । वि॒द्मा पु॒रा परी॑णसः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी रक्षा पाकर हम नवीन ही रहेंगे. हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! पहले हम तुम्हें सब जगह व्याप्त नहीं जानते थे, पर इस समय जान गए हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We will be new to protect you. O thunderbolt Indra! At first we didn't know you everywhere, but at this time we know. (7)
वि॒द्मा स॑खि॒त्वमु॒त शू॑र भो॒ज्य१॒॑मा ते॒ ता व॑ज्रिन्नीमहे । उ॒तो स॑मस्मि॒न्ना शि॑शीहि नो वसो॒ वाजे॑ सुशिप्र॒ गोम॑ति ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! हम तुम्हारी मित्रता एवं भोज्य को जानते हैं. हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! हम तुम्हारी ये ही दोनों वस्तुएं मांगते हैं. हे निवासस्थानदाता एवं शोभन टोप वाले इंद्र! हमें गाय आदि से युक्त सभी धनों से संपन्न करो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! We know your friendship and friendship. O thunderbolt Indra! We ask for both of these things of yours. O Lord of the abode and the Indra of Shobhan Hat! Endow us with all the riches containing cows etc. (8)
यो न॑ इ॒दमि॑दं पु॒रा प्र वस्य॑ आनि॒नाय॒ तमु॑ वः स्तुषे । सखा॑य॒ इन्द्र॑मू॒तये॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र ऋत्विजो! जो इंद्र प्राचीन समय में यह सारा धन हमारे लिए लाए थे, तुम्हारी रक्षा के लिए मैं उन्हीं इंद्र की स्तुति करता हूं. (९)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend, Ritvizo! I praise the Indra who brought all this wealth to us in ancient times, for protecting you. (9)
हर्य॑श्वं॒ सत्प॑तिं चर्षणी॒सहं॒ स हि ष्मा॒ यो अम॑न्दत । आ तु नः॒ स व॑यति॒ गव्य॒मश्व्यं॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॑ म॒घवा॑ श॒तम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हरि नामक अश्वो के स्वामी, सज्जनों के पालक व शत्रुओं को दबाने वाले इंद्र की स्तुति वही व्यक्ति कर सकता है, जो प्रसन्न होता है. वे धनस्वामी इंद्र स्तोताओं के लिए सौ गाएं और घोड़े लाए थे. (१०)
EN English Translation
The lord of the horses named Hari, the guardian of the gentlemen and indra who suppresses the enemies can be praised by the same person who is happy. They had brought a hundred cows and horses for the Dhanaswami Indra Stotas. (10)
त्वया॑ ह स्विद्यु॒जा व॒यं प्रति॑ श्व॒सन्तं॑ वृषभ ब्रुवीमहि । सं॒स्थे जन॑स्य॒ गोम॑तः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वर्षा करने वाले इंद्र! हम तुम्हारी सहायता से गायों के कारण होने वाले संग्राम में ललकारने वाले शत्रुओं को जीतेंगे. (११)
EN English Translation
O Rainer Indra! With your help we will conquer the enemies who are challenging in the battle caused by the cows. (11)
जये॑म का॒रे पु॑रुहूत का॒रिणो॒ऽभि ति॑ष्ठेम दू॒ढ्यः॑ । नृभि॑र्वृ॒त्रं ह॒न्याम॑ शूशु॒याम॒ चावे॑रिन्द्र॒ प्र णो॒ धियः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! हम युद्ध में शत्रुओं को जीतेंगे एवं दुष्टबुद्धि लोगों को पराजित करेंगे. हम नेता मरुतों की सहायता से वृत्र को मारेंगे एवं यज्ञकमों में वृद्धि करेंगे. हे इंद्र! हमारे यज्ञको की रक्षा करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra called by many! We will conquer our enemies in battle and defeat the wicked. We will kill Vrittar with the help of the leaders maruts and increase the yagnakams. O Indra! Protect our yajnako. (12)
अ॒भ्रा॒तृ॒व्यो अ॒ना त्वमना॑पिरिन्द्र ज॒नुषा॑ स॒नाद॑सि । यु॒धेदा॑पि॒त्वमि॑च्छसे ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अपने जन्मकाल से ही भाइयों से हीन, बिना नेता वाले एवं बांधवहीन हो. तुम जो मित्रता चाहते हो, उसे युद्ध द्वारा प्राप्त करते हो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have been inferior to your brothers since your birth, without leaders and without bondage. The friendship you seek, you get it through war. (13)
नकी॑ रे॒वन्तं॑ स॒ख्याय॑ विन्दसे॒ पीय॑न्ति ते सुरा॒श्वः॑ । य॒दा कृ॒णोषि॑ नद॒नुं समू॑ह॒स्यादित्पि॒तेव॑ हूयसे ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम केवल धनवान् व्यक्ति को ही अपनी मित्रता के लिए स्वीकार नहीं करते, इसका क्या कारण है? ऐसे लोग शराब पीते हैं एवं तुम्हारा विरोध करते हैं. जब तुम अपने स्तोता को संपत्ति देते हो, उस समय वह तुम्हें ऐसे पुकारता है, जैसे कोई अपने पिता को पुकारता है. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You don't accept only a rich person for your friendship, what is the reason for that? Such people drink alcohol and oppose you. When you give property to your stotha, he calls you as if someone calls upon his Father. (14)
मा ते॑ अमा॒जुरो॑ यथा मू॒रास॑ इन्द्र स॒ख्ये त्वाव॑तः । नि ष॑दाम॒ सचा॑ सु॒ते ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम जैसे देव की मित्रता के प्रति अज्ञानी बनकर हम सोमरस निचोड़ना न छोड़ दें. हम सोमरस निचोड़ने के बाद एक जगह बैठेंगे. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! By becoming ignorant of god's friendship like you, let us not stop squeezing somras. We will sit in one place after squeezing the somras. (15)
मा ते॑ गोदत्र॒ निर॑राम॒ राध॑स॒ इन्द्र॒ मा ते॑ गृहामहि । दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑द॒र्यः प्र मृ॑शा॒भ्या भ॑र॒ न ते॑ दा॒मान॑ आ॒दभे॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गाएं देने वाले इंद्र! तुम्हारे सेवक हम धनरहित न हों एवं किसी दूसरे से धन न मांगें. हे स्वामी इंद्र! तुम हमें स्थिर धन दो. तुम्हारे दिए हुए धन को कोई नष्ट नहीं कर सकता. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra who sings! Let us not be rich, your servants, and do not ask anyone else for money. O Lord Indra! You give us the steady money. No one can destroy your money. (16)
इन्द्रो॑ वा॒ घेदिय॑न्म॒घं सर॑स्वती वा सु॒भगा॑ द॒दिर्वसु॑ । त्वं वा॑ चित्र दा॒शुषे॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मुझ हव्यदाता सौभरि को क्या इंद्र ने यह धन दिया है? क्या शोभन धनवाली सरस्वती ने मुझे संपत्ति दी है? हे राजा चित्र! यह धन क्या केवल तुम्हें दिया है? (१७)
EN English Translation
Has Indra given this money to my husband, Saubhiri? Has Shobhan Dhanwali Saraswati given me property? O king picture! What is this money only given to you? (17)
चित्र॒ इद्राजा॑ राज॒का इद॑न्य॒के य॒के सर॑स्वती॒मनु॑ । प॒र्जन्य॑ इव त॒तन॒द्धि वृ॒ष्ट्या स॒हस्र॑म॒युता॒ दद॑त् ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बादल जिस प्रकार वर्षा द्वारा धरती को सभी संपत्तियों से युक्त बनाते हैं, उसी प्रकार राजा चित्र सरस्वती नदी के किनारे रहने वाले अन्य राजाओं को हजारों धन देकर प्रसन्न करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
Just as the clouds make the earth full of all the wealth by rain, in the same way, king paintings please other kings living on the banks of the Saraswati river by giving thousands of money. (18)
