यु॒क्ष्वा हि दे॑व॒हूत॑मा॒ँ अश्वा॑ँ अग्ने र॒थीरि॑व । नि होता॑ पू॒र्व्यः स॑दः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! रथी जिस प्रकार घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ता है, उसी प्रकार तुम भी देवों को बुलाने में कुशल अपने घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ो. तुम प्रधान होता बनकर बैठो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Just as the charioter adds horses to the chariot, so you also add your horses to the chariot, skilled in calling the gods. You sit down as the chief. (1)
उ॒त नो॑ देव दे॒वाँ अच्छा॑ वोचो वि॒दुष्ट॑रः । श्रद्विश्वा॒ वार्या॑ कृधि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! तुम देवों के समीप हमें अधिक विद्वान् बताओ एवं हमारे वरणयोग्य धन को देवों के पास पहुंचाओ. (२)
EN English Translation
O God of agni! You tell us more scholars near the gods and bring our worth of wealth to the gods. (2)
त्वं ह॒ यद्य॑विष्ठ्य॒ सह॑सः सूनवाहुत । ऋ॒तावा॑ य॒ज्ञियो॒ भुवः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय युवा, बल के पुत्र एवं सब ओर से बुलाए गए अग्नि! तुम सत्ययुक्त एवं यज्ञ के योग्य हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O ye of the most young, the son of strength, and the agni called from all sides! You are truthful and worthy of yajna. (3)
अ॒यम॒ग्निः स॑ह॒स्रिणो॒ वाज॑स्य श॒तिन॒स्पतिः॑ । मू॒र्धा क॒वी र॑यी॒णाम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये अग्नि सैकड़ों और हजारों प्रकार के अन्नों के पालक, श्रेष्ठ, मेधावी एवं धनों के स्वामी हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
These agnis are the guardians, the best, the brightest and the masters of wealth of hundreds and thousands of types of food. (4)
तं ने॒मिमृ॒भवो॑ य॒था न॑मस्व॒ सहू॑तिभिः । नेदी॑यो य॒ज्ञम॑ङ्गिरः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गतिशील अग्नि! ऋभुगण जिस प्रकार रथ की नेमि को लाते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम अन्य देवों के साथ यज्ञ को लाओ. (५)
EN English Translation
O dynamic agni! Just as the Sages bring the name of the chariot, so you bring the yajna with other gods. (5)
तस्मै॑ नू॒नम॒भिद्य॑वे वा॒चा वि॑रूप॒ नित्य॑या । वृष्णे॑ चोदस्व सुष्टु॒तिम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विरूप नामक ऋषि! तुम नित्य वचनों द्वारा दीप्तिशाली एवं वर्षाकारक अग्नि की शोभन स्तुति करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O sage named Virup! Praise the glorious and rain-burning agni with the usual words. (6)
कमु॑ ष्विदस्य॒ सेन॑या॒ग्नेरपा॑कचक्षसः । प॒णिं गोषु॑ स्तरामहे ॥ (७)

हम बड़ी आंखों वाले अग्नि की ज्वालारूपी सेनाओं द्वारा गायों की प्राप्ति के लिए किस पणि की हिंसा करेंगे? (७)
EN English Translation
Which commodity will we do to violence for the recovery of cows by the blazing armies of the big-eyed agni? (7)
मा नो॑ दे॒वानां॒ विशः॑ प्रस्ना॒तीरि॑वो॒स्राः । कृ॒शं न हा॑सु॒रघ्न्याः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम देवपरिचारकों को उसी प्रकार न छोड़ें, जिस प्रकार लोग दुधारू गाय को नहीं छोड़ते अथवा गाएं अपने छोटे बछड़ों को नहीं छोड़तीं. (८)
EN English Translation
O agni! Let us not leave the deities in the same way that people do not leave the milch cow or sing their little calves. (8)
मा नः॑ समस्य दू॒ढ्य१॒ः॑ परि॑द्वेषसो अंह॒तिः । ऊ॒र्मिर्न नाव॒मा व॑धीत् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सागर की लहरें जिस प्रकार नाव को बाधा पहुंचाती हैं, उसी प्रकार सभी शत्रुओं की दुष्ट बुद्धि हमें बाधा न पहुंचावे. (९)
EN English Translation
Just as the waves of the sea hinder the boat, so let not the evil wisdom of all enemies hinder us. (9)
नम॑स्ते अग्न॒ ओज॑से गृ॒णन्ति॑ देव कृ॒ष्टयः॑ । अमै॑र॒मित्र॑मर्दय ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! प्रजाएं शक्ति पाने के लिए तुम्हें नमस्कार करती हैं. तुम अपनी शक्तियों द्वारा शत्रुओं को मर्दित करो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O God of agni! The subjects greet you for gaining strength. You men the enemies by your powers. (10)
कु॒वित्सु नो॒ गवि॑ष्ट॒येऽग्ने॑ सं॒वेषि॑षो र॒यिम् । उरु॑कृदु॒रु ण॑स्कृधि ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! गायों की खोज करने के लिए हमें बहुत सा धन दो. हे समृद्ध बनाने वाले अग्नि! हमें समृद्ध बनाओ. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! Give us a lot of money to search for cows. O agni that enriches! Make us rich. (11)
मा नो॑ अ॒स्मिन्म॑हाध॒ने परा॑ वर्ग्भार॒भृद्य॑था । सं॒वर्गं॒ सं र॒यिं ज॑य ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! भार ढोने वाला जिस प्रकार अंत में भार को छोड़ देता है, उसी प्रकार तुम हमें युद्ध में छोड़ मत देना. शत्रुओं द्वारा संगृहीत धन को तुम हमारे लिए जीतो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Just as the loader leaves the load in the end, so don't leave us in battle. You win for us the wealth collected by the enemies. (12)
अ॒न्यम॒स्मद्भि॒या इ॒यमग्ने॒ सिष॑क्तु दु॒च्छुना॑ । वर्धा॑ नो॒ अम॑व॒च्छवः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यह भय हमारे अतिरिक्त लोगों के पास जाए. तुम युद्ध में हमारे बल एवं वेग को बढ़ाओ. (१३)
EN English Translation
O agni! This fear will go to our extra people. You increase our force and velocity in war. (13)
यस्याजु॑षन्नम॒स्विनः॒ शमी॒मदु॑र्मखस्य वा । तं घेद॒ग्निर्वृ॒धाव॑ति ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस नमस्कार करने वाले एवं दोषहीन यज्ञयुक्त व्यक्ति का यज्ञकर्म अग्नि स्वीकार करते हैं, उसी के पास अन्नि जाते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
To whom the greeters and the domineering yajnakarta accept the yajnakarma of the person with the faultless yajna, the one who accepts the yajnakarma agni goes to him. (14)
पर॑स्या॒ अधि॑ सं॒वतोऽव॑राँ अ॒भ्या त॑र । यत्रा॒हमस्मि॒ ताँ अ॑व ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! शत्रुओं की सेनाओं को हमारी सेनाओं से पराजित कराओ. मैं जिस सेना के बीच में हूं, तुम उसकी रक्षा करो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O agni! Defeat the armies of the enemies with our armies. The army I'm in the middle of, you protect it. (15)
वि॒द्मा हि ते॑ पु॒रा व॒यमग्ने॑ पि॒तुर्यथाव॑सः । अधा॑ ते सु॒म्नमी॑महे ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पालक अग्नि! हम पहले के समान इस समय भी तुम्हारी रक्षा को जानते हैं. उस समय हम तुमसे सुख मांगते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O spinach agni! We know your defense at this time as before. At that time we ask you for happiness. (16)
