बृ॒हदिन्द्रा॑य गायत॒ मरु॑तो वृत्र॒हन्त॑मम् । येन॒ ज्योति॒रज॑नयन्नृता॒वृधो॑ दे॒वं दे॒वाय॒ जागृ॑वि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! इंद्र के लिए पाप नष्ट करने वाले एवं विशाल साममंत्रों का गायन करो. यज्ञवर्धक देवों ने सामगान के द्वारा इंद्र के लिए दीप्तियुक्त एवं जागरणशील ज्योति के रूप में सूर्य को बनाया. (१)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Sing the sins destroyer and huge sammantras for Indra. The sacrificial gods created the sun as a bright and awakening light for Indra through samagana. (1)
अपा॑धमद॒भिश॑स्तीरशस्ति॒हाथेन्द्रो॑ द्यु॒म्न्याभ॑वत् । दे॒वास्त॑ इन्द्र स॒ख्याय॑ येमिरे॒ बृह॑द्भानो॒ मरु॑द्गण ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोत्र न करने वाले लोगों को मारने वाले इंद्र ने शत्रुओं द्वारा होने वाली हिंसा दूर की. इसके पश्चात् इंद्र यशस्वी बने. हे विशाल दीप्तियुक्त एवं मरुतों सहित इंद्र! सभी देवों ने तुम्हें अपनी मित्रता के लिए पाया. (२)
EN English Translation
Indra, who killed those who did not eat hymns, removed the violence caused by the enemies, after which Indra became successful. O Indra with great radiance and maruts! All the gods found you for their friendship. (2)
प्र व॒ इन्द्रा॑य बृह॒ते मरु॑तो॒ ब्रह्मा॑र्चत । वृ॒त्रं ह॑नति वृत्र॒हा श॒तक्र॑तु॒र्वज्रे॑ण श॒तप॑र्वणा ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! महान् इंद्र के लिए स्तोत्र बोलो. शतक्रतु एवं वृत्रहंता इंद्र ने सौ धारों वाले वज्र से वृत्र असुर का नाश किया. (३)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Speak the hymn for the great Indra. Shatrattu and Vrithrahanta Indra destroyed the Vrithra Asura with a hundred-edged vajra. (3)
अ॒भि प्र भ॑र धृष॒ता धृ॑षन्मनः॒ श्रव॑श्चित्ते असद्बृ॒हत् । अर्ष॒न्त्वापो॒ जव॑सा॒ वि मा॒तरो॒ हनो॑ वृ॒त्रं जया॒ स्वः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं को हराने के लिए दृढ़ निश्चय इंद्र! तुम्हारा अन्न महान् है. दृढ़ हृदय द्वारा वह धन तुम हमें दो. हमारी माता के समान जल तेजी के साथ भूमियों पर जावे. तुम जल रोकने वाले वृत्र असुर का नाश करो तथा अपने आपको जीतो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra, determined to defeat the enemies! Your food is great. By the firm heart that wealth you give us. Go to the lands with the same water fast as our mother. You destroy the vrithra asura who stops the water and conquer yourself. (4)
यज्जाय॑था अपूर्व्य॒ मघ॑वन्वृत्र॒हत्या॑य । तत्पृ॑थि॒वीम॑प्रथय॒स्तद॑स्तभ्ना उ॒त द्याम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अभूतपूर्व एवं धनस्वामी इंद्र! जब वृत्र की हत्या करने के लिए तुमने धरती को दृढ़ एवं द्युलोक को विरुद्ध किया. (५)
EN English Translation
O unprecedented and wealthy Indra! When you strengthened the earth and opposed the world to kill the vrithra. (5)
तत्ते॑ य॒ज्ञो अ॑जायत॒ तद॒र्क उ॒त हस्कृ॑तिः । तद्विश्व॑मभि॒भूर॑सि॒ यज्जा॒तं यच्च॒ जन्त्व॑म् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! उस समय तुम्हारे लिए यश एवं प्रसन्नतादायक मंत्र उत्पन्न हुए. उस समय तुमने उत्पन्न एवं भविष्य में जन्म लेने वाले संसार को पराजित किया. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! At that time, praise and happy mantras were born for you. At that time you defeated the world that was created and born in the future. (6)
आ॒मासु॑ प॒क्वमैर॑य॒ आ सूर्यं॑ रोहयो दि॒वि । घ॒र्मं न साम॑न्तपता सुवृ॒क्तिभि॒र्जुष्टं॒ गिर्व॑णसे बृ॒हत् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! उस समय तुमने कच्ची उम्र वाली गायों को दुधारू बनाया एवं सूर्य को द्युलोक में चढ़ाया. हे स्तोताओ! साममंत्रों द्वारा जिस प्रकार सोमरस को बढ़ाया जाता है, उसी प्रकार स्तुतियों द्वारा इंद्र को बढ़ाओ. स्तुति के योग्य इंद्र के लिए विस्तृत एवं प्रीतिकर साममंत्र गाओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! At that time you made the cows of raw age milch and offered the sun to Dulok. This stotao! Just as somras are magnified by the sammantras, so increase Indra by praises. Sing a detailed and loving sammantra to Indra worthy of praise. (7)
