अग्निं दूतं वृणीमहे होतारं विश्ववेदसम् । अस्य यज्ञस्य सुक्रतुम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि सभी धन पास रखने वाले, देवताओं को यज्ञ में बुलाने वाले, यज्ञ को ठीक तरह कराने वाले व देवों को हवि पहुंचाने वाले हैं. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Agni is the one who keeps all the wealth, calls the gods to the yajna, who performs the yajna properly and delivers the blessings to the gods. We worship you. (1)
अग्निमग्निँ हवीमभिः सदा हवन्त विश्पतिम् । हव्यवाहं पुरुप्रियम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप प्रजापालक, हविवाहक, सर्वप्रिय, बुलाने योग्य व अनेक नाम वाले हैं. आप हम सब के नेता हैं. हम मंत्रों से आप का आह्वान करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are a prajapalak, a marriager, an all-loving, callable and of many names. You are the leader of all of us. We invoke you with mantras. (2)
अग्ने देवाँ इहा वह जज्ञानो वृक्तबर्हिषे । असि होता न ईड्यः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप अरणियों से उत्पन्न होने वाले व देवताओं के दूत हैं. आप आसन फैलाने वाले यजमान के लिए देवताओं को बुला लाइए. आप मददगार और उपासना के योग्य हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are born of forests and messengers of gods. You call the gods for the host who spreads the seat. You are helpful and worthy of worship. (3)
मित्रं वयँ हवामहे वरुणँ सोमपीतये । य जाता पूतदक्षसा ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम शुद्ध, बलवान और यज्ञस्थल में प्रकट होने वाले मित्र और वरुण देवता का सोमरस पीने के लिए यज्ञ में आह्वान करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
We call upon the pure, strong and appearing friends and Varuna devta in the yajna place to drink someras in the yagna. (4)
ऋतेन यावृतावृधावृतस्य ज्योतिषस्पती । ता मित्रावरुणा हुवे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र और वरुण देवता यजमान पर दयालु हैं. वे सत्यमार्गियों पर कृपालु हैं. उन प्रकाशमान मित्र और वरुण देवताओं का हम आह्वान करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Friends and Varuna devta are kind to the host. They are kind to the truthful. We invoke those bright friends and Varuna gods. (5)
वरुणः प्राविता भुवन्मित्रो विश्वाभिरूतिभिः । करतां नः सुराधसः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र और वरुण देवता अपने सभी रक्षा साधनों से हमारी रक्षा करें. वे हमारे शरणदाता हैं. वे हमें यशस्वी धन प्रदान करने की कृपा करें. (६)
EN English Translation
Friends and Varuna Devta protect us with all their defense means. They are our lenders. May they please give us successful wealth. (6)
इन्द्रमिद्गाथिनो बृहदिन्द्रमर्केभिरर्किणः । इन्द्रं वाणीरनूषत ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
साम गाने वाले पुरोहितों ने बृहत्साम गा कर इंद्र की स्तुति की. यजमानों ने भी मंत्र गा कर इंद्र की स्तुति की. शेष बचे हुए लोगों ने भी वाणी से इंद्र की स्तुति की. (७)
EN English Translation
The priests who sang sama praised Indra by singing brihatsam, the hosts also praised Indra by singing mantras.
इन्द्र इद्धर्योः सचा सम्मिश्ल आ वचोयुजा । इन्द्रो वज्री हिरण्ययः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र वज्रधारी हैं. वे सोने के आभूषणधारी हैं. उन की वाणी सुनते ही हरि नामक घोड़े रथ में जुत जाते हैं. अब वे अपने उन्हीं घोड़ों को एक साथ रथ में जोतने वाले हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Indra is a vajradhari. They are gold jewellers. On hearing his voice, horses named Hari join the chariot. Now they are going to plough their same horses together in the chariot. (8)
इन्द्र वाजेषु नोऽव सहस्रप्रधनेषु च । उग्र उग्राभिरूतिभिः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप किसी से नहीं हार सकते. आप हमें अपना प्रबल संरक्षण प्रदान कीजिए. जिन युद्धों में हजारों हाथीघोड़ों का लाभ होता है, उन युद्धों में भी आप हमारी सहायता कीजिए. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You can't lose to anyone. You give us your strong protection. Help us also in wars where thousands of elephants benefit. (9)
इन्द्रो दीर्घाय चक्षस आ सूर्यँ रोहयद्दिवि । वि गोभिरद्रिमैरयत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! संसार को प्रकाश देने के लिए आप ने स्वर्गलोक में सूर्य की स्थापना की. उसी प्रकार अपनी रश्मियों (किरणों) से बरसात के लिए बादलों को प्रेरित किया. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! To give light to the world, you established the sun in heaven. (10)
इन्द्रे अग्ना नमो बृहत्सुवृक्तिमेरयामहे । धिया धेना अवस्यवः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अपने संरक्षण की कामना से हम अग्नि और इंद्र के पास हवि और स्तुति पहुंचाते हैं. हम बुद्धि और मनोयोग से दोनों देवताओं की उपासना करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
With the desire of our protection, we convey havi and praise to Agni and Indra. We worship both the gods with wisdom and mind. (11)
ता हि शश्वन्त ईडत इत्था विप्रास ऊतये । सबाधो वाजसातये ॥ (१२)

अनेक बुद्धिमान लोग अग्नि और इंद्र की रक्षा के लिए उपासना करते हैं. वे लोग वैसे ही उन की उपासना करते हैं, जैसे अन्न के लिए लड़तेझगड़ते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Many intelligent people worship to protect Agni and Indra. They worship them just as they fight for food. (12)
ता वां गीर्भिर्विपन्युवः प्रयस्वन्तो हवामहे । मेधसाता सनिष्यवः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम स्तुतियों से अग्नि और इंद्र की उपासना करते हैं. उन को आमंत्रित करते हैं. हम धन के इच्छुक हवि के साथ आप दोनों को यज्ञ में आमंत्रित करते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
We worship Agni and Indra with praises. Invite them. We invite both of you to the yagna with the desire for money. (13)
