प्र दे॑व॒त्रा ब्रह्म॑णे गा॒तुरे॑त्व॒पो अच्छा॒ मन॑सो॒ न प्रयु॑क्ति । म॒हीं मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य धा॒सिं पृ॑थु॒ज्रय॑से रीरधा सुवृ॒क्तिम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ के समय सोमरस देवों के निमित्त उस प्रकार शीघ्र जल की ओर जावें, जिस प्रकार मन तेज चलता है. हे अध्वर्युजनो! मित्र एवं विस्तृत गति इंद्र के लिए महान् सोम को शुद्ध करो. (१)
EN English Translation
At the time of yajna, the Somras should go to the water for the sake of the gods as soon as the mind moves fast. O adhwaryujano! Purify the great mon for friend and wide speed Indra. (1)
अध्व॑र्यवो ह॒विष्म॑न्तो॒ हि भू॒ताच्छा॒प इ॑तोश॒तीरु॑शन्तः । अव॒ याश्चष्टे॑ अरु॒णः सु॑प॒र्णस्तमास्य॑ध्वमू॒र्मिम॒द्या सु॑हस्ताः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हव्य धारण करने वाले अध्वर्युजनो! तुम सोम से युक्त हो जाओ. सोमरस निचोड़ने की अभिलाषा करने वाले तुम सोमरस की कामना करने वाले जलों की ओर जाओ. हे सुंदर हाथों वाले अध्वर्युजनो! यह सोम लाल रंग के पक्षी की तरह नीचे गिरता है, उसे तरंग के रूप में दशापवित्र पर डालो. (२)
EN English Translation
Those who hold this havya, the adhwaryujano! You get consisted of mon. Those who wish to squeeze the somras go to the waters that wish for somras. O you have beautiful hands! It falls down like a bird of mon red, pour it on the dashapavittra as the waveform. (2)
अध्व॑र्यवो॒ऽप इ॑ता समु॒द्रम॒पां नपा॑तं ह॒विषा॑ यजध्वम् । स वो॑ दददू॒र्मिम॒द्या सुपू॑तं॒ तस्मै॒ सोमं॒ मधु॑मन्तं सुनोत ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्युजनो! यहां से जलपूर्ण सागर में जाओ तथा जलों के नाती अर्थात् अग्नि देव का होम करो. वे अग्नि आज तुम्हें अत्यंत शुद्ध जल की लहरें प्रदान करें तुम उनके लिए मधुर सोमरस निचोड़ो. (३)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryujano! From here go to the water-filled ocean and do the home of the grandson of the waters, that is, the god of agni. They agni today to provide you waves of extremely pure water you squeeze the sweet somras for them. (3)
यो अ॑नि॒ध्मो दीद॑यद॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तर्यं विप्रा॑स॒ ईळ॑ते अध्व॒रेषु॑ । अपां॑ नपा॒न्मधु॑मतीर॒पो दा॒ याभि॒रिन्द्रो॑ वावृ॒धे वी॒र्या॑य ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो जल के नाती अग्नि देव जलों के भीतर काष्ठों के बिना भी जलते हैं एवं ब्राह्मण यज्ञों में जिनकी स्तुति करते हैं, वे हमें ऐसा मधुर जल दें, जिसे पीकर इंद्र वीरता के कर्म करने के लिए बढ़ें. (४)
EN English Translation
Those who burn without wood inside the waters of the agni god water and whom the Brahmins praise in the yagnas, give us such sweet water, by drinking which Indra grows up to perform the deeds of bravery. (4)
याभिः॒ सोमो॒ मोद॑ते॒ हर्ष॑ते च कल्या॒णीभि॑र्युव॒तिभि॒र्न मर्यः॑ । ता अ॑ध्वर्यो अ॒पो अच्छा॒ परे॑हि॒ यदा॑सि॒ञ्चा ओष॑धीभिः पुनीतात् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्युजनो! जिस प्रकार सुंदरी युवतियों से मिलकर पुरुष हर्षित और प्रसन्न होते हैं, उसी प्रकार जिन जलों से मिलकर सोम मुदित होते हैं, उन्हीं जलों को लाने के लिए जाओ. लाए हुए जलों से सोम को धोओ और सोम के साथ-साथ दशापवित्र को शुद्ध करो. (५)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryujano! Just as men are joyful and happy to meet beautiful young women, so go to fetch the same waters with which the soma mudit comes from. Wash the som with the brought waters and purify the dashapavitra along with the mon. (5)
ए॒वेद्यूने॑ युव॒तयो॑ नमन्त॒ यदी॑मु॒शन्नु॑श॒तीरेत्यच्छ॑ । सं जा॑नते॒ मन॑सा॒ सं चि॑कित्रेऽध्व॒र्यवो॑ धि॒षणाप॑श्च दे॒वीः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार अभिलाषापूर्ण युवक, पुरुष की कामना करने वाली युवती को पाकर नम्र हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार जल सोम की ओर अनुकूल बनकर बहते हैं. अध्वर्युजनों एवं उनकी स्तुतियों से जलदेव का विशेष परिचय है. दोनों एक-दूसरे के उपकार को देखते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Just as the desireful young man becomes humble to find a young woman who wishes for a man, so the water flows towards The Mon. There is a special introduction to the adhwaryujans and their praises. The two see each other's favors. (6)
यो वो॑ वृ॒ताभ्यो॒ अकृ॑णोदु लो॒कं यो वो॑ म॒ह्या अ॒भिश॑स्ते॒रमु॑ञ्चत् । तस्मा॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ मधु॑मन्तमू॒र्मिं दे॑व॒माद॑नं॒ प्र हि॑णोतनापः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जलो! जिस इंद्र ने तुम्हारे मेघ द्वारा घिरे होने पर निकलने के लिए मार्ग बनाया एवं जिसने तुम्हें मेघ की कठिन पकड़ से छुड़ाया, उसी इंद्र के लिए मधुरतापूर्ण तथा देवों को प्रमुदित करने वाली अपनी लहर भेजो. (७)
EN English Translation
O burn! Send your wave of sweetness and pleasing to the gods to the same Indra who made the way out when you are surrounded by the cloud and who rescued you from the difficult grip of the cloud. (7)
प्रास्मै॑ हिनोत॒ मधु॑मन्तमू॒र्मिं गर्भो॒ यो वः॑ सिन्धवो॒ मध्व॒ उत्सः॑ । घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठ॒मीड्य॑मध्व॒रेष्वापो॑ रेवतीः शृणु॒ता हवं॑ मे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहने वाले जलो! तुम्हारे गर्भ के समान मधुर रस वाला जो झरना है, उसकी मधुर तरंग को इंद्र के लिए भेजो. हे धनयुक्त जलो! मेरी पुकार सुनो. तुम्हारी तरंग यजञों में घृतयुक्त एवं प्रशंसनीय है. (८)
EN English Translation
O burn the flowing! Send the sweet wave of the waterfall, which is as sweet as your womb, to Indra. O burn rich! Listen to my call. Your wave is disgusting and admirable in the yajjanas. (8)
तं सि॑न्धवो मत्स॒रमि॑न्द्र॒पान॑मू॒र्मिं प्र हे॑त॒ य उ॒भे इय॑र्ति । म॒द॒च्युत॑मौशा॒नं न॑भो॒जां परि॑ त्रि॒तन्तुं॑ वि॒चर॑न्त॒मुत्स॑म् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहने वाले जलो! तुम्हारी जो तरंग इस लोक और परलोक--दोनों के लिए लाभ करती है, उसी मदकारिणी तरंग को इंद्र के पान के लिए भेजो. तुम्हारी तरंग नशा करने वाली, सोम के साथ मिलने की इच्छुक, अंतरिक्ष में उत्पन्न एवं तीनों लोकों में घूमने के लिए ऊपर जाती है. (९)
EN English Translation
O burn the flowing! The wave of yours which benefits both this folk and the hereafter, send the same Madkarini wave to indra's pan. Your wave goes up to the intoxicating, willing to meet with Mon, originating in space and moving around in all three realms. (9)
आ॒वर्वृ॑तती॒रध॒ नु द्वि॒धारा॑ गोषु॒युधो॒ न नि॑य॒वं चर॑न्तीः । ऋषे॒ जनि॑त्री॒र्भुव॑नस्य॒ पत्नी॑र॒पो व॑न्दस्व स॒वृधः॒ सयो॑नीः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु! ऐसे जलों की वंदना करो, जो जल के लिए युद्ध करने वाले इंद्र की आज्ञा से अनेक धाराओं में गिरकर सोमरस में मिलना चाहते हैं, जो संसार को उत्पन्न करने वाले एवं रक्षक हैं तथा जो सोम के साथ एक ही स्थान में बढ़ते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryu! Worship the waters that, by the command of Indra, who fights for water, want to fall into many streams and meet in the Somras, who is the creator and protector of the world and who grows in one place with The Soma. (10)
हि॒नोता॑ नो अध्व॒रं दे॑वय॒ज्या हि॒नोत॒ ब्रह्म॑ स॒नये॒ धना॑नाम् । ऋ॒तस्य॒ योगे॒ वि ष्य॑ध्व॒मूधः॑ श्रुष्टी॒वरी॑र्भूतना॒स्मभ्य॑मापः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! देवपूजा के लिए हमारे यज्ञ को प्रेरित करो, धनप्राप्ति के लिए हमारे पास स्तुतियां भेजो एवं यज्ञ के अवसर पर हमारे लिए सोमरस से भरा हुआ चर्मपात्र खोलो. हे ऋत्विजों द्वारा छोड़े जाते हुए जल! तुम हमारे लिए सुखकर बनो. (११)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Inspire our yajna for devpuja, send us praises for the sake of wealth and on the occasion of the yajna, open for us a skin vessel full of somras. O water being released by the Ritvites! Be happy for us. (11)
आपो॑ रेवतीः॒ क्षय॑था॒ हि वस्वः॒ क्रतुं॑ च भ॒द्रं बि॑भृ॒थामृतं॑ च । रा॒यश्च॒ स्थ स्व॑प॒त्यस्य॒ पत्नीः॒ सर॑स्वती॒ तद्गृ॑ण॒ते वयो॑ धात् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनयुक्त जल! तुम धन के निवास हो. हमारे इस कल्याणकारी यज्ञ को पूरा करके हमारे लिए अमृत लाओ. तुम हमारे धन एवं शोभन संतान के पालक बनो. सरस्वती स्तोता को धन दें. (१२)
EN English Translation
O rich water! You are the residence of wealth. Bring nectar for us by completing this welfare yagna of ours. You become the guardian of our wealth and blessed children. Give money to Saraswati Stota. (12)
प्रति॒ यदापो॒ अदृ॑श्रमाय॒तीर्घृ॒तं पयां॑सि॒ बिभ्र॑ती॒र्मधू॑नि । अ॒ध्व॒र्युभि॒र्मन॑सा संविदा॒ना इन्द्रा॑य॒ सोमं॒ सुषु॑तं॒ भर॑न्तीः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जल! मैं देखता हूं कि तुम मेरे यज्ञ की ओर आते हुए घृत, दूध एवं शहद लाते हो. अध्वर्यु हमारे साथ सच्चे मन से बात करते हैं तथा तुम भली प्रकार निचोड़ा हुआ सोम इंद्र के लिए धारण करते हो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O water! I see you coming to my yajna and bringing ghee, milk and honey. Adhwaryu speaks to us with a true heart and you hold for the well-squeezed Mon Indra. (13)
एमा अ॑ग्मन्रे॒वती॑र्जी॒वध॑न्या॒ अध्व॑र्यवः सा॒दय॑ता सखायः । नि ब॒र्हिषि॑ धत्तन सोम्यासो॒ऽपां नप्त्रा॑ संविदा॒नास॑ एनाः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु मित्रो! धन से युक्त व जीवों के लिए लाभकारी जल हमारे यज्ञ की ओर आ रहे हैं. तुम जल को स्थापित करो. इन जलों का वर्षा के देव अर्थात् अपांनपात् से परिचय है. सोमरस से मिलाने योग्य इस जल को कुशों पर स्थापित करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O you guys! Water containing wealth and beneficial for living beings is coming towards our yajna. You install the water. These waters are introduced to the God of Rain i.e. The Apanpat. Install this water to be mixed with somras on the kushas. (14)
आग्म॒न्नाप॑ उश॒तीर्ब॒र्हिरेदं न्य॑ध्व॒रे अ॑सदन्देव॒यन्तीः॑ । अध्व॑र्यवः सुनु॒तेन्द्रा॑य॒ सोम॒मभू॑दु वः सु॒शका॑ देवय॒ज्या ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कामना करता हुआ जल हमारे यज्ञ की वेदी पर बिछे कुशों पर आता है एवं देवों को प्रसन्न करने की अभिलाषा से स्थित होता है. हे अध्वर्युजनो! ऐसा जानकर तुम इंद्र के लिए सोमरस निचोड़ो. जल के आने के कारण ही इस समय तुम्हारा देवयज्ञ सरल हो सका है. (१५)
EN English Translation
The water that wishes comes on the kushas lying on the altar of our yajna and is situated with the desire to please the gods. O Adhwaryujano! Knowing this, you squeeze somers for Indra. Due to the arrival of water, your Devyagya has been simplified at this time. (15)
