ता वां॒ विश्व॑स्य गो॒पा दे॒वा दे॒वेषु॑ य॒ज्ञिया॑ । ऋ॒तावा॑ना यजसे पू॒तद॑क्षसा ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सब लोक के रक्षक, दिव्य गुणयुक्त एवं देवों में यज्ञपात्र मित्र व वरुण! तुम हव्यदान के लिए यजमान के समीप आओ]. है व्यश्च ऋषि! तुम यज्ञयुक्त एवं पवित्र शक्ति वाले मित्र व वरुण का यजन करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O protector of all the people, having divine qualities and sacrificial friends and Varuna among the gods! Come to the host for the gift of the greetings.' It's a sage! You should worship the sacrificial and holy-powered friend and Varuna. (1)
मि॒त्रा तना॒ न र॒थ्या॒३॒॑ वरु॑णो॒ यश्च॑ सु॒क्रतुः॑ । स॒नात्सु॑जा॒ता तन॑या धृ॒तव्र॑ता ॥ (२)

शोभन-यज्ञकर्म वाले मित्र व वरुण धन एवं रथ के स्वामी हैं. वे बहुत समय पूर्व शोभन जन्म वाले, अदितिपुत्र एवं व्रतधारी हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The friends of Shobhan-Yajnakarma and Varuna are the masters of wealth and chariots. He is a long time ago, born shobhan, aditiputra and vratdhari. (2)
ता मा॒ता वि॒श्ववे॑दसासु॒र्या॑य॒ प्रम॑हसा । म॒ही ज॑जा॒नादि॑तिरृ॒ताव॑री ॥ (३)

महती एवं सत्ययुक्त अदिति ने सबको जानने वाले, उत्कृष्ट तेज वाले मित्र व वरुण को असुरनाश करने वाली शक्ति के लिए उत्पन्न किया है. (३)
EN English Translation
Aditi, who is a great and truthful, has created the power to know everyone, a friend of excellent speed and to asuras that will destroy Varun. (3)
म॒हान्ता॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णा स॒म्राजा॑ दे॒वावसु॑रा । ऋ॒तावा॑नावृ॒तमा घो॑षतो बृ॒हत् ॥ (४)

महान्, भली प्रकार सुशोभित, शक्तिशाली एवं सत्ययुक्त मित्र व वरुण अपने प्रकाश से यज्ञ को प्रकाशित करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Great, well-groomed, powerful and truthful friends and Varuna illuminate the yajna with his light. (4)
नपा॑ता॒ शव॑सो म॒हः सू॒नू दक्ष॑स्य सु॒क्रतू॑ । सृ॒प्रदा॑नू इ॒षो वास्त्वधि॑ क्षितः ॥ (५)

महान् बल के नाती, वेग के पुत्र, शोभन कर्म वाले एवं अधिक धन देने वाले मित्र व वरुण अन्न के स्थान में रहते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Mahanbal's grandson, The Son of Veg, friends with shodhan karma and high-money givers and Varun live in the place of Food. (5)
सं या दानू॑नि ये॒मथु॑र्दि॒व्याः पार्थि॑वी॒रिषः॑ । नभ॑स्वती॒रा वां॑ चरन्तु वृ॒ष्टयः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! तुम धन, दिव्य अन्न एवं धरती पर उत्पन्न होने वाला अन्न देते हो. जल वाली वर्षा तुम्हारे पास रहे. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! You give wealth, divine food and food that is produced on earth. The rain with water stay with you. (6)
अधि॒ या बृ॑ह॒तो दि॒वो॒३॒॑ऽभि यू॒थेव॒ पश्य॑तः । ऋ॒तावा॑ना स॒म्राजा॒ नम॑से हि॒ता ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सत्ययुक्त, भली प्रकार सुशोभित एवं हव्य को प्रेम करने वाले मित्र व वरुण! तुम देवों को प्रसन्न करने के लिए इस प्रकार देखते हो, जिस प्रकार बैल गायों के झुंड को देखता है. (७)
EN English Translation
O true, well-groomed and loving friend and Varuna! You look at the gods to please them in this way, just as the bull sees the flock of cows. (7)
ऋ॒तावा॑ना॒ नि षे॑दतुः॒ साम्रा॑ज्याय सु॒क्रतू॑ । धृ॒तव्र॑ता क्ष॒त्रिया॑ क्ष॒त्रमा॑शतुः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सत्ययुक्त एवं शोभन कर्म वाले मित्र व वरुण! भली प्रकार सुशोभित होने के लिए यहां बैठो. हे व्रत धारण करने वाले एवं शक्तिशाली मित्र व वरुण! तुम बल को प्राप्त करो. (८)
EN English Translation
Friends and Varun with true and good deeds! Sit here to be well-groomed. O fasting and powerful friend and Varuna! You get to the force. (8)
अ॒क्ष्णश्चि॑द्गातु॒वित्त॑रानुल्ब॒णेन॒ चक्ष॑सा । नि चि॑न्मि॒षन्ता॑ निचि॒रा नि चि॑क्यतुः ॥ (९)

आंखों द्वारा सबको देखने से पहले ही जानने वाले, सबको अपने-अपने कर्म में प्रेरित करने वाले एवं चिरंतन मित्र व वरुण दुःसह तेज से युक्त हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Those who know everyone before they see everyone with their eyes, inspire everyone in their own deeds and are enduring friends and Varun are full of dush-radiance. (9)
उ॒त नो॑ दे॒व्यदि॑तिरुरु॒ष्यतां॒ नास॑त्या । उ॒रु॒ष्यन्तु॑ म॒रुतो॑ वृ॒द्धश॑वसः ॥ (१०)

अदितिदेवी एवं अश्विनीकुमार हमारी रक्षा करें. अधिक वेग वाले मरुद्गण हमारी रक्षा करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
Let Aditidevi and Ashwinikumar protect us. High-velocity deserts protect us. (10)
ते नो॑ ना॒वमु॑रुष्यत॒ दिवा॒ नक्तं॑ सुदानवः । अरि॑ष्यन्तो॒ नि पा॒युभिः॑ सचेमहि ॥ (११)

हे शोभन-दान वाले एवं अहिंसित मरुतो! तुम रात-दिन हमारी नाव की रक्षा करो तुम्हारे पालन से हम एकत्र होंगे. (११)
EN English Translation
O blessed and non-violent Maruto! Protect our boat day and night, by your observance we will gather. (11)
अघ्न॑ते॒ विष्ण॑वे व॒यमरि॑ष्यन्तः सु॒दान॑वे । श्रु॒धि स्व॑यावन्सिन्धो पू॒र्वचि॑त्तये ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम पालन के कारण अबाधित होकर हिंसा न करने वाले एवं शोभन दान युक्त विष्णु की स्तुति करेंगे. हे संग्राम में अकेले जाने वाले एवं स्तोताओं को धन देने वाले विष्णु! पूर्वकाल में यज्ञ प्रारंभ करने वाले यजमान की स्तुति सुनो. (१२)
EN English Translation
We will praise Vishnu, who has not committed violence and is a behove of charity, unhindered by the observance. O Vishnu who goes alone in the struggle and gives money to the stoetas! Listen to the praise of the host who started the yajna in the past. (12)
तद्वार्यं॑ वृणीमहे॒ वरि॑ष्ठं गोप॒यत्य॑म् । मि॒त्रो यत्पान्ति॒ वरु॑णो॒ यद॑र्य॒मा ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम श्रेष्ठ, सबके रक्षक एवं वरण करने योग्य धन का आश्रय लेते हैं. इस धन की रक्षा मित्र, वरुण और अर्यमा करते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
We shelter the best, the protector of all and the worthy of choice. This wealth is protected by friends, Varun and Aryama. (13)
उ॒त नः॒ सिन्धु॑र॒पां तन्म॒रुत॒स्तद॒श्विना॑ । इन्द्रो॒ विष्णु॑र्मी॒ढ्वांसः॑ स॒जोष॑सः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जल बरसाने वाले बादल, मरुद्गण, अश्विनीकुमार, इंद्र, वरुण एवं सभी अभिलाषापूरक देव मिलकर हमारी रक्षा करें. (१४)
EN English Translation
May the water-raining clouds, the deserts, the Ashwinikumar, Indra, Varuna and all the desire-filled gods come together to protect us. (14)
ते हि ष्मा॑ व॒नुषो॒ नरो॒ऽभिमा॑तिं॒ कय॑स्य चित् । ति॒ग्मं न क्षोदः॑ प्रति॒घ्नन्ति॒ भूर्ण॑यः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सेवा करने योग्य एवं यज्ञकर्म के नेता वे देवगण शीघ्र गमन करके किसी भी शत्रु का अभिमान इस प्रकार नष्ट कर देते हैं, जिस प्रकार तेज बहने वाला जल वृक्षों को उखाड़ देता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
The serviceable and the leader of the yagnakarma, they destroy the pride of any enemy by moving quickly, just as the fast-flowing water uproots the trees. (15)
अ॒यमेक॑ इ॒त्था पु॒रूरु च॑ष्टे॒ वि वि॒श्पतिः॑ । तस्य॑ व्र॒तान्यनु॑ वश्चरामसि ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मनुष्यों का पालन करने वाले ये मित्र अकेले ही बहुत से प्रधान द्रव्यों को अपने तेज से इस प्रकार देखते हैं. हम तुम्हारे कल्याण के लिए मित्र के व्रतों का आचरण करते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
These friends who follow humans alone see many of the principal substances in this way with their brightness. We conduct the fasts of a friend for your welfare. (16)
अनु॒ पूर्वा॑ण्यो॒क्या॑ साम्रा॒ज्यस्य॑ सश्चिम । मि॒त्रस्य॑ व्र॒ता वरु॑णस्य दीर्घ॒श्रुत् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम भली प्रकार सुशोभित होने वाले वरुण के प्राचीन गृहों को प्राप्त होंगे. हम अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध मित्र के व्रत भी करेंगे. (१७)
EN English Translation
We will get the ancient houses of Varuna which are well beautified. We will also fast for a very famous friend. (17)
परि॒ यो र॒श्मिना॑ दि॒वोऽन्ता॑न्म॒मे पृ॑थि॒व्याः । उ॒भे आ प॑प्रौ॒ रोद॑सी महि॒त्वा ॥ (१८)

मित्र स्वर्ग एवं पृथ्वी के अंतिम भागों को अपने तेज द्वारा प्रकाशित करते हैं एवं द्यावा- पृथिवी दोनों को अपने महत्त्व से पूर्ण करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
Friends illuminate the last parts of heaven and earth by their brightness and complete both the dyava-prithvi with their importance. (18)
उदु॒ ष्य श॑र॒णे दि॒वो ज्योति॑रयंस्त॒ सूर्यः॑ । अ॒ग्निर्न शु॒क्रः स॑मिधा॒न आहु॑तः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सबके प्रेरक मित्रवरुण सूर्य के स्थान अंतरिक्ष में अपना प्रकाश फैलाते हैं. अग्नि के समान दीप्तिशाली, हव्यों द्वारा बढ़े हुए एवं सबके द्वारा बुलाए गए वे देव आकाश में स्थित होते हैं. (१९)
EN English Translation
Everyone's inspiring friends spread their light in space in the place of the sun. As bright as agni, those gods, enlarged by the human beings and called by all, are located in the sky. (19)
वचो॑ दी॒र्घप्र॑सद्म॒नीशे॒ वाज॑स्य॒ गोम॑तः । ईशे॒ हि पि॒त्वो॑ऽवि॒षस्य॑ दा॒वने॑ ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोता! विस्तृत घर वाले यज्ञ में मित्र व वरुण की स्तुति करो. वरुण पशुओं वाले धन के स्वामी हैं. वे महान् प्रतिकारक अन्न देने में समर्थ हैं. (२०)
EN English Translation
This is the hymn! Praise the friend and Varuna in the yajna with a wide house. Varuna is the master of wealth containing animals. They are able to give great repulsive food. (20)
तत्सूर्यं॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे दो॒षा वस्तो॒रुप॑ ब्रुवे । भो॒जेष्व॒स्माँ अ॒भ्युच्च॑रा॒ सदा॑ ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं मित्र व वरुण के तेज, द्यावा-पृथिवी एवं दिन-रात की स्तुति करता हूं. हे वरुण! हमें सदा दाता के सामने ले जाओ. (२१)
EN English Translation
I praise the fast, the earth and the day and night of the friend and Varuna. Hey Varun! Take us in front of the eternal giver. (21)
ऋ॒ज्रमु॑क्ष॒ण्याय॑ने रज॒तं हर॑याणे । रथं॑ यु॒क्तम॑सनाम सु॒षाम॑णि ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उक्ष गोत्र में उत्पन्न एवं सुषामा के पुत्र राजा वरु ने जब दान देना आरंभ किया था, तब हमें सीधा चलने वाला, चांदी का बना हुआ एवं दो घोड़ों से युक्त रथ मिला था. वरु का रथ शन्रुओं का जीवन, धन आदि हरण करता है. (२२)
EN English Translation
When King Varu, born in the Ukhs tribe and the son of Sushama, started donating, we found a chariot of straight running, made of silver and with two horses. The chariot of Varu takes away the life, wealth, etc. of the Shanrus. (22)
ता मे॒ अश्व्या॑नां॒ हरी॑णां नि॒तोश॑ना । उ॒तो नु कृत्व्या॑नां नृ॒वाह॑सा ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
राजा वरु द्वारा हमारे लिए ऐसे दो घोड़े शीघ्र दिए जावें, जो हरि नामक घोड़ों के समूह में शत्रुओं को अधिक बाधा पहुंचाने वाले, युद्ध में कुशल एवं मनुष्यों का वहन करने वाले हों. (२३)
EN English Translation
Let two such horses be given to us by King Varu soon, who in a group of horses called Hari are more resistant to the enemies, skilled in war and are human-borne. (23)
स्मद॑भीशू॒ कशा॑वन्ता॒ विप्रा॒ नवि॑ष्ठया म॒ती । म॒हो वा॒जिना॒वर्व॑न्ता॒ सचा॑सनम् ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं मित्रादि देवों की अति नवीन स्तुति द्वारा शोभन रस्सियों वाले, हंटर से युक्त, बुद्धिमानों के योग्य एवं तेज चलने वाले दो घोड़े प्राप्त करता हूं. (२४)
EN English Translation
I receive two horses with adorned ropes, full of hunters, worthy of wise men and fast-moving, with the most innovative praise of the friendly gods. (24)
