इन्द्र॑स्य प्रथ॒मो रथो॑ दे॒वाना॒मप॑रो॒ रथो॒ वरु॑णस्य तृ॒तीय॒ इत् । अही॑नामप॒मा रथः॑ स्था॒णुमा॑र॒दथा॑र्षत् ॥ (१)

इंद्र का रथ पहला, देवों का दूसरा और वरुण का तीसरा है. सर्पो का रथ अपमा अर्थात् निम्न गतिशील नामक है, जो स्थाणु अर्थात् सूखे वृक्षों से अधिक रमणीय है एवं तेज चलता है. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra's chariot is the first, the second of the Devas and the third of Varuna. The chariot of serpents is called Apma i.e. low dynamic, which is more delightful than Sthanu i.e. dry trees and moves fast. (1)
द॒र्भः शो॒चिस्त॒रूण॑क॒मश्व॑स्य॒ वारः॑ परु॒षस्य॒ वारः॑ । रथ॑स्य॒ बन्धु॑रम् ॥ (२)

दर्भ सर्पो को शोक देने वाला है, यह तरुणक एवं अश्व नामक सर्पो के विष का निरोधक है. परुष नामक सर्प के विष का निवारण करने वाला दर्भ रथ का बाधक है. (२)
EN English Translation
Darbha is going to mourn the serpent, it is the prevention of the poison of snakes called Young and Horse. The darbha, which removes the poison of a snake called Parush, is the obstacle of the chariot. (2)
अव॑ श्वेत प॒दा ज॑हि॒ पूर्वे॑ण॒ चाप॑रेण च । उ॑दप्लु॒तमि॑व॒ दार्वही॑नामर॒सं वि॒षं वारु॒ग्रम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे श्वैतपद! तू अपने अगले एवं पिछले पैरों के द्वारा सर्पो का विनाश कर. गिरता हुआ काष्ठ जिस प्रकार शक्ति से हीन हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार सर्प विष प्रभावहीन हो जाता है. हे दर्भ! तू इस भयानक सर्प विष का निवारण कर. (३)
EN English Translation
O shvaitapad! Destroy serpents with your front and back feet. Just as falling wood becomes inferior to power, in the same way snake venom becomes ineffective. O darbh! You remove this terrible snake poison. (3)
अ॑रंघु॒षो नि॒मज्यो॒न्मज॒ पुन॑रब्रवीत् । उ॑दप्लु॒तमि॑व॒ दार्वही॑नामर॒सं वि॒षं वारु॒ग्रम् ॥ (४)

अरंघुष नाम की ओषधि ने पानी में डुबकी लगाई और ऊपर आ कर कहा कि जिस प्रकार गिरता हुआ काष्ठ शक्तिहीन होता है, उसी प्रकार सर्पो का विष भी प्रभावहीन हो जाए. हे कुश! तू इस भयानक सर्प विष का निवारण कर. (४)
EN English Translation
A medicine named Aranghu took a dip in the water and came up and said that just as the falling wood is powerless, similarly the venom of the serpents should also become ineffective. O Kush! You remove this terrible snake poison. (4)
पै॒द्वो ह॑न्ति कस॒र्णीलं॑ पै॒द्वः श्वि॒त्रमु॒तासि॒तम् । पै॒द्वो र॑थ॒र्व्याः शिरः॒ सं बि॑भेद पृदा॒क्वाः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पैद्व नामक ओषधि कसर्णील नामक सर्प को, श्वेत सर्प को और काले सर्प को नष्ट करती है. पैद्ध ने रथर्व्या और पृदाकू नामक नागों का सिर तोड़ दिया था. (५)
EN English Translation
A medicine called Padwa destroys a snake called Kasarnil, a white snake and a black snake. Paddha broke the heads of serpents named Rathrvya and Pridaku. (5)
पैद्व॒ प्रेहि॑ प्रथ॒मोऽनु॑ त्वा व॒यमेम॑सि । अही॒न्व्यस्यतात्प॒थो येन॑ स्मा व॒यमे॒मसि॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पैद्व! तुम सर्वश्रेष्ठ हो. हम तुम्हारी प्रार्थना करते हैं. तुम यहां आओ. हम जिस मार्ग से आतेजाते हैं, तुम उस मार्ग से सर्पो को दूर भगा दो. (६)
EN English Translation
O paidva! You're the best. We pray to you. You come here. Drive away the serpents from the path we go by. (6)
इ॒दं पै॒द्वो अ॑जायते॒दम॑स्य प॒राय॑णम् । इ॒मान्यर्व॑तः प॒दाहि॒घ्न्यो वा॒जिनी॑वतः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यह पैद्व उत्पन्न हुआ है. यह इस के आश्रय में है. वह इन शीघ्र चलने वाले सर्पो का निवर्तन करने वाला है. (७)
EN English Translation
This tradition has originated. It's in the shelter of this. He is going to dispose of these fast moving serpents. (7)
संय॑तं॒ न वि ष्प॑र॒द्व्यात्तं॒ न सं य॑मत् । अ॒स्मिन्क्षेत्रे॒ द्वावही॒ स्त्री च॒ पुमां॑श्च॒ तावु॒भाव॑र॒सा ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सर्प का बंद मुख हमें डसने के लिए न खुले. इस क्षेत्र में निवास करने वाले नर और मादा सर्प अर्थात् सांप और सांपिन मंत्र की शक्ति से शक्तिहीन हो जाएं. (८)
EN English Translation
The snake's closed face should not open to bite us. Male and female snakes living in this area i.e. snakes and snakes should become powerless with the power of mantras. (8)
अ॑र॒सास॑ इ॒हाह॑यो॒ ये अन्ति॒ ये च॑ दूर॒के । घ॒नेन॑ हन्मि॒ वृश्चि॑क॒महिं॑ द॒ण्डेनाग॑तम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो सर्प यहां से समीप रहते हैं और जो दूर रहते हैं, वे विषहीन हो जाएं. मैं बिच्छू को हथौड़ा से मारता हूं और सांप को डंडे से मारता हूं. (९)
EN English Translation
Snakes that live near here and those who live far away, they should become poisonless. I hit the scorpion with a hammer and the snake with a stick. (9)
अ॑घा॒श्वस्ये॒दं भे॑ष॒जमु॒भयो॑ स्व॒जस्य॑ च । इन्द्रो॒ मेऽहि॑मघा॒यन्त॒महिं॑ पै॒द्वो अ॑रन्धयत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेरे पास जो जड़ीबूटियां हैं, वे अघाश्च और स्वज दोनों प्रकार के सर्पो का विष दूर करने वाली हैं. हिंसा रूपी पाप करने वाले सांप को रोकने के हेतु इंद्र ने पैद्ध को मेरे वश में किया है. (१०)
EN English Translation
The herbs I have are going to remove the venom of both aghascha and swaj snakes. Indra has subdued Padha to stop the snake that commits the sin of violence. (10)
पै॒द्वस्य॑ मन्महे व॒यं स्थि॒रस्य॑ स्थि॒रधा॑म्नः । इ॒मे प॒श्चा पृदा॑कवः प्र॒दीध्य॑त आसते ॥ (११)

स्थिर एवं स्थायी तेज वाले पैद्ध को हम मानते हैं. ये पश्च और पृदाकू नामक सर्पो को शोकमग्न करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
We consider the fixed and permanent fast path. They mourn the snakes called Pashcha and Pridaku. (11)
न॒ष्टास॑वो न॒ष्टवि॑षा ह॒ता इ॑न्द्रेण व॒ज्रिणा॑ । ज॒घानेन्द्रो॑ जघ्नि॒मा व॒यम् ॥ (१२)

वज्रधारी इंद्र ने उन सपों के प्राण एवं विष को समाप्त कर दिया था, जिन्हें इंद्र ने मारा था. हम उन का विनाश करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Vajradhari Indra had eliminated the life and poison of the snakes whom Indra had killed. We destroy them. (12)
ह॒तास्तिर॑श्चिराजयो॒ निपि॑ष्टासः॒ पृदा॑कवः । दर्विं॒ करि॑क्रतं श्वि॒त्रं द॒र्भेष्व॑सि॒तं ज॑हि ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तिरश्चिराजी सांप मार दिए गए हैं और पृदाकू नामक सांप पीस डाले गए है. हे दर्वी! तू दभो पर पड़े हुए सफेद और काले करिकृत सांपों का विनाश कर दे. (१३)
EN English Translation
Tirshchiraji snakes have been killed and snakes called Pridaku have been grinded. O Darvi! You destroy the white and black karikarita snakes lying on the dabho. (13)
कै॑राति॒का कु॑मारि॒का स॒का खन॑ति भेष॒जम् । हि॑र॒ण्ययी॑भि॒रभ्रि॑भिर्गिरी॒णामुप॒ सानु॑षु ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
किरात जाति की कुमारी कुदाल से सर्पो की ओषधि खोजती है. वह पर्वतों की चोटियों पर सोने के फावड़ों से ओषधि खोदती है. (१४)
EN English Translation
The kumari of kirat jati searches for sarpo's medicine with a spade. She digs medicine with gold shovels on the peaks of the mountains. (14)
आयम॑ग॒न्युवा॑ भि॒षक्पृ॑श्नि॒हाप॑राजितः । स वै स्व॒जस्य॒ जम्भ॑न उ॒भयो॒र्वृश्चि॑कस्य च ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कभी पराजित न होने वाला युवा वैद्य मंत्र शक्ति से संपन्न है. यह स्वज नामक सर्प और बिच्छू का विनाश कर सकता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
The young vaidya mantra that is never defeated is endowed with power. It can destroy snakes and scorpions called swaj. (15)
इन्द्रो॒ मेऽहि॑मरन्धयन्मि॒त्रश्च॒ वरु॑णश्च । वा॑तापर्ज॒न्यो॒भा ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र, मित्र, वरुण, वायु और पर्जन्य अर्थात् बादल ने सर्प को मेरे वश में कर दिया है. (१६)
EN English Translation
Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Vayu and The Rainy, that is, the cloud, have taken the snake under my control. (16)
इन्द्रो॒ मेऽहि॑मरन्धय॒त्पृदा॑कुं च पृदा॒क्वम् । स्व॒जं तिर॑श्चिराजिं कस॒र्णीलं॒ दशो॑नसिम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने मेरे कल्याण के हेतु पृदाकू, पृदाक्व, स्वज तिरश्चिराजी, कसर्णील एवं दशोनसि नामक सर्पो को मेरे वश में कर दिया है. (१७)
EN English Translation
Indra has subdued snakes named Pridaku, Pridakva, Swaja Tirshchiraji, Kasarnil and Dashonsi for my welfare. (17)
इन्द्रो॑ जघान प्रथ॒मं ज॑नि॒तार॑महे॒ तव॑ । तेषा॑मु तृ॒ह्यमा॑णानां॒ कः स्वि॒त्तेषा॑मस॒द्रसः॑ ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्प! इंद्र ने सब से पहले तेरे जन्म देने वालों को मारा था. उन सर्पो के विनाश के समय किस सर्प में विष शेष रहा? (१८)
EN English Translation
O serpent! Indra first killed those who gave birth to you. Which snake had poison left at the time of destruction of those serpents? (18)
सं हि शी॒र्षाण्यग्र॑भं पौञ्जि॒ष्ठ इ॑व॒ कर्व॑रम् । सिन्धो॒र्मध्यं॑ प॒रेत्य॒ व्यनिज॒महे॑र्वि॒षम् ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
केवट जिस प्रकार पतवार को ग्रहण करता है, उसी प्रकार मैं ने सर्प शीश पकड़ लिए हैं. मैं ने सिंधु के मध्य भाग से लौट कर सर्प के विष को प्रभावहीन बना दिया है. (१९)
EN English Translation
Just as Kewat receives the hull, I have caught the snake head. I have returned from the central part of the Indus and made the snake venom ineffective. (19)
अही॑नां॒ सर्वे॑षां वि॒षं परा॑ वहन्तु सिन्धवः । ह॒तास्तिर॑श्चिराजयो॒ निपि॑ष्टासः॒ पृदा॑कवः ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सभी नदियां सपो के विष को अपने जल के साथ बहा ले जाएं. तिरश्चिराजी नामक सर्प नष्ट हो गए और पृदाकू नामक सर्प पीस डाले गए. (२०)
EN English Translation
All rivers should take away the poison of sapo with their water. A snake named Tirshchiraji was destroyed and a snake named Pridaku was grinded. (20)
ओष॑धीनाम॒हं वृ॑ण उ॒र्वरी॑रिव साधु॒या । नया॒म्यर्व॑तीरि॒वाहे॑ नि॒रैतु॑ ते वि॒षम् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं अपनी उत्तम बुद्धि के द्वारा उपजाऊ भूमि पर उगी हुई जड़ीबूटियों को स्वीकार कर के उन्हें इस प्रकार प्रेरित करता हूं, जिस प्रकार वेग वाली नदियां बहती हैं. हे सर्प! उन जड़ीबूटियों से विष समाप्त हो जाए. (२१)
EN English Translation
I accept the herbs grown on fertile land with my good intellect and inspire them in such a way that the rivers of velocity flow. O serpent! The poison is eliminated from those herbs. (21)
यद॒ग्नौ सूर्ये॑ वि॒षं पृ॑थि॒व्यामोष॑धीषु॒ यत् । का॑न्दावि॒षं क॒नक्न॑कं नि॒रैत्वैतु॑ ते वि॒षम् ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अन्ने में, सूर्य में, पृथ्वी में तथा जड़ीबूटियों में जो विष है, वह तथा कंदों का विष पूर्णतया नष्ट हो जाए. (२२)
EN English Translation
The poison that is in the sun, in the earth and in the herbs, and the poison of the tubers should be completely destroyed. (22)
ये अ॑ग्नि॒जा ओ॑षधि॒जा अही॑नां॒ ये अ॑प्सु॒जा वि॒द्युत॑ आबभू॒वुः । येषां॑ जा॒तानि॑ बहु॒धा म॒हान्ति॒ तेभ्यः॑ स॒र्पेभ्यो॒ नम॑सा विधेम ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि, जड़ीबूटियों, जल एवं सर्पो में जो विष है तथा जिन के द्वारा भयानक कर्म हुए हैं, हम उन सभी सर्पों को हव्य द्वारा तृप्त करते हैं. (२३)
EN English Translation
The poison in agni, herbs, water and serpents and through which terrible deeds have been done, we satisfy all those snakes with lust. (23)
तौदी॒ नामा॑सि क॒न्या घृ॒ताची॒ नाम॒ वा अ॑सि । अ॑धस्प॒देन॑ ते प॒दमा द॑दे विष॒दूष॑णम् ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जड़ीबूटी! तू तौदी और घृताची नाम वाली हो. नीचे की ओर किए गए अपने पैर के द्वारा मैं विष समाप्त करता हूं और सभी को वश में करता हूं. (२४)
EN English Translation
O herb! You are the name of Taudi and Ghritachi. With my foot downstream, I end the poison and subdue everyone. (24)
अङ्गा॑दङ्गा॒त्प्र च्या॑वय॒ हृद॑यं॒ परि॑ वर्जय । अधा॑ वि॒षस्य॒ यत्तेजो॑ऽवा॒चीनं॒ तदे॑तु ते ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे रोगी! तू अपने प्रत्येक अंग से विष को टपकाता हुआ अपने हृदय की रक्षा कर. विष का जो तेज है, वह अधोगति को प्राप्त हो कर नष्ट हो जाए. (२५)
EN English Translation
O patient! Protect your heart by dripping poison from each part of you. The intensity of the poison should be destroyed by attaining degradation. (25)
आ॒रे अ॑भूद्वि॒षम॑रौद्वि॒षे वि॒षम॑प्रा॒गपि॑ । अ॒ग्निर्वि॒षमहे॒र्निर॑धा॒त्सोमो॒ निर॑णयीत् । दं॒ष्टार॒मन्व॑गाद्वि॒षमहि॑रमृत ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नवीन विष भी प्राचीन विष में मिल कर रुक गया है. इस प्रकार विष नष्ट हो चुका है. अग्नि ने सांप के विष को नष्ट कर दिया है. सोम सर्प के विष को दूर ले गया है. काटने वाले सांप को ही उस का विष प्राप्त हुआ, जिस से उस की मृत्यु हो गई. (२६)
EN English Translation
The new poison has also stopped mixed with the ancient poison. Thus the poison has been destroyed. Agni has destroyed snake venom. Som has taken away the snake's venom. The snake that bit him received its venom, due to which he died. (26)
