न नू॒नमस्ति॒ नो श्वः कस्तद्वे॑द॒ यदद्भु॑तम् । अ॒न्यस्य॑ चि॒त्तम॒भि सं॑च॒रेण्य॑मु॒ताधी॑तं॒ वि न॑श्यति ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
) इंद्र ने कहा-“आज या कल वास्तव में कुछ नहीं है. जो कार्य विचित्र है, उसे कौन जानता है? अन्य लोगों का मन इतना चंचल होता है कि वे जो भी पढ़ते हैं, सो भूल जाते हैं.” (१)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "Today or tomorrow is really nothing. Who knows the work that is strange? Other people's minds are so fickle that they forget to sleep whatever they read." (1)
किं न॑ इन्द्र जिघांससि॒ भ्रात॑रो म॒रुत॒स्तव॑ । तेभिः॑ कल्पस्व साधु॒या मा नः॑ स॒मर॑णे वधीः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अगस्त्य बोले-“हे इंद्र! तुम वया मुझे मारना चाहते हो? अपने भ्राता मरुतों के साथ जाकर भली प्रकार यज्ञ के भागों का भोग करो. संग्राम में हमारी हत्या मत करना.” (२)
EN English Translation
Agastya said, "O Indra! Do you want to kill me? Go with your brotherly maruts and enjoy the parts of the yajna well. Don't kill us in the war." (2)
किं नो॑ भ्रातरगस्त्य॒ सखा॒ सन्नति॑ मन्यसे । वि॒द्मा हि ते॒ यथा॒ मनो॒ऽस्मभ्य॒मिन्न दि॑त्ससि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र बोले-“हे भाई अगस्त्य! तुम मित्र होकर हमारा अपमान क्यों कर रहे हो? तुम्हारे मन में जो बात है, उसे हम जानते हैं. तुम हमें हव्य देना नहीं चाहते हो.” (३)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "Brother, Agastya! Why are you insulting us by being a friend? We know what's on your mind. You don't want to give us a hug." (3)
अरं॑ कृण्वन्तु॒ वेदिं॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्धतां पु॒रः । तत्रा॒मृत॑स्य॒ चेत॑नं य॒ज्ञं ते॑ तनवावहै ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! तुम वेदी को अलंकृत करो एवं हमारे सामने अग्नि को जलाओ. हम और तुम उस अग्नि में अमृत की सूचना देने वाला यह करेंगे.” (४)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! You adorn the altar and light the fire before us. We and you will do this to inform the nectar in that fire." (4)
त्वमी॑शिषे वसुपते॒ वसू॑नां॒ त्वं मि॒त्राणां॑ मित्रपते॒ धेष्ठः॑ । इन्द्र॒ त्वं म॒रुद्भिः॒ सं व॑द॒स्वाध॒ प्राशा॑न ऋतु॒था ह॒वींषि॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अगस्त्य ने कहा-“हे धन के अधिपति, मित्रों के मित्र, सबके स्वामी एवं आश्रय इंद्र! तुम मरुतों से कहो कि हमारा यज्ञ पूरा हो गया है. तुम ठीक समय पर आकर हमारा हव्य भक्षण करो.” (५)
EN English Translation
Agastya said, "O lord of wealth, friend of friends, lord of all and shelter Indra! Tell the maruts that our yajna is complete. You come at the right time and eat our havya." (5)
