इ॒मां धियं॑ स॒प्तशी॑र्ष्णीं पि॒ता न॑ ऋ॒तप्र॑जातां बृह॒तीम॑विन्दत् । तु॒रीयं॑ स्विज्जनयद्वि॒श्वज॑न्यो॒ऽयास्य॑ उ॒क्थमिन्द्रा॑य॒ शंस॑न् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे पिता अंगिरा ने सत्य से उत्पन्न एवं सात छंदों वाली विशाल स्तुति को बनाया था. सर्वजनहितकारी अयास्य ऋषि ने इंद्र की प्रशंसा करते हुए एक चरण वाला स्तोत्र भी बनाया. (१)
EN English Translation
Our father Angira created a vast praise of truth and with seven verses. Sage Ayasya, who is all-powerful, also made a one-stage hymn praising Indra. (1)
ऋ॒तं शंस॑न्त ऋ॒जु दीध्या॑ना दि॒वस्पु॒त्रासो॒ असु॑रस्य वी॒राः । विप्रं॑ प॒दमङ्गि॑रसो॒ दधा॑ना य॒ज्ञस्य॒ धाम॑ प्रथ॒मं म॑नन्त ॥ (२)

अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों ने सत्य भाषण करते हुए व कल्याण का ध्यान करते हुए यज्ञ के सुंदर तेज को धारण करके प्रारंभ से ही बृहस्पति की स्तुति की. वे ऋषि दीप्त एवं बुद्धिशाली अग्नि के पुत्र हैं एवं उनका मन सरल है. (२)
EN English Translation
The Angiragotrian sages praised Jupiter from the very beginning by holding the beautiful brightness of the yagna while making a truthful speech and meditating on the welfare. He is the son of the bright and wise agni and his mind is simple. (2)
हं॒सैरि॑व॒ सखि॑भि॒र्वाव॑दद्भिरश्म॒न्मया॑नि॒ नह॑ना॒ व्यस्य॑न् । बृह॒स्पति॑रभि॒कनि॑क्रद॒द्गा उ॒त प्रास्तौ॒दुच्च॑ वि॒द्वाँ अ॑गायत् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने हंसों के समान शब्द करने वाले अपने मित्रों की सहायता से पणियों द्वारा चुराई गई गायों का पाषाणमय द्वार खोला तथा रंभाती हुई गायों के बंधन ढीले किए. बृहस्पति ने उच्च स्वर से स्तुति की तथा सब जानते हुए गान किया. (३)
EN English Translation
Jupiter, with the help of his friends who spoke similar words to the swans, opened the stone-like door of the cows stolen by the hawks and loosened the bonds of the ramming cows. Jupiter praised with a loud voice and sang knowing all. (3)
अ॒वो द्वाभ्यां॑ प॒र एक॑या॒ गा गुहा॒ तिष्ठ॑न्ती॒रनृ॑तस्य॒ सेतौ॑ । बृह॒स्पति॒स्तम॑सि॒ ज्योति॑रि॒च्छन्नुदु॒स्रा आक॒र्वि हि ति॒स्र आवः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उस अंधकारपूर्ण गुफा में स्थित गायों को नीचे एक एवं ऊपर दो द्वारों की सहायता से छिपाया गया था. बृहस्पति ने अंधकार में प्रकाश ले जाने की इच्छा करते हुए तीनों द्वारों को खोला और गायों को बाहर निकाल दिया. (४)
EN English Translation
The cows in that dark cave were hidden with the help of one and two gates above. Jupiter, wishing to carry light in the darkness, opened the three gates and drove the cows out. (4)
वि॒भिद्या॒ पुरं॑ श॒यथे॒मपा॑चीं॒ निस्त्रीणि॑ सा॒कमु॑द॒धेर॑कृन्तत् । बृह॒स्पति॑रु॒षसं॒ सूर्यं॒ गाम॒र्कं वि॑वेद स्त॒नय॑न्निव॒ द्यौः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति रात भर सोते रहे. प्रातः उन्होंने गुहा का पिछला भाग तोड़ा तथा बादल के समान राक्षस की उस गुफा के तीनों द्वार खोल दिए. बृहस्पति ने प्रातःकाल सूर्य एवं गायों को एक साथ देखा. बृहस्पति उस समय मेघ के समान गर्जन कर रहे थे. (५)
EN English Translation
Jupiter slept all night. In the morning, they broke the back of the cavity and opened the three gates of that cave of the monster like a cloud. Jupiter saw the sun and the cows together in the morning. Jupiter was roaring like a cloud at that time. (5)
इन्द्रो॑ व॒लं र॑क्षि॒तारं॒ दुघा॑नां क॒रेणे॑व॒ वि च॑कर्ता॒ रवे॑ण । स्वेदा॑ञ्जिभिरा॒शिर॑मि॒च्छमा॒नोऽरो॑दयत्प॒णिमा गा अ॑मुष्णात् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने दुधारू गायों की रक्षा करने वाले असुर को हुंकार से इस प्रकार नष्ट कर दिया, जैसे अपने हाथ के आयुध से मारा हो. उन्होंने मरुतों के साथ संयोग की इच्छा करते हुए पणियों को रुलाया और गायों को वापस ले आए. (६)
EN English Translation
Jupiter destroyed the asura protecting the milch cows with a hunkar, as if killed by the armament of his hand. He made the panies cry and brought the cows back, wishing to coincide with the maruts. (6)
स ईं॑ स॒त्येभिः॒ सखि॑भिः शु॒चद्भि॒र्गोधा॑यसं॒ वि ध॑न॒सैर॑दर्दः । ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॒र्वृष॑भिर्व॒राहै॑र्घ॒र्मस्वे॑देभि॒र्द्रवि॑णं॒ व्या॑नट् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने अपने तेजस्वी, सत्यवादी एवं धन देने वाले सहायकों से मिलकर गायों को रोकने वाले राक्षस को विदीर्ण कर दिया. स्तोत्रों के स्वामी बृहस्पति ने जल बरसाने वाले, जल का आहरण करने वाले एवं दीप्त आगमन वाले मरुतों के साथ गोधन को बाहर निकाला. (७)
EN English Translation
Jupiter met his brilliant, truthful and wealth-giving helpers and shattered the demon who stopped the cows. Jupiter, the lord of the hymns, pulled out the godhan with the water-showerers, the drawers of water and the bright arrival maruts. (7)
ते स॒त्येन॒ मन॑सा॒ गोप॑तिं॒ गा इ॑या॒नास॑ इषणयन्त धी॒भिः । बृह॒स्पति॑र्मि॒थोअ॑वद्यपेभि॒रुदु॒स्रिया॑ असृजत स्व॒युग्भिः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुतों ने सच्चे मन से पणियों द्वारा अपहत गायों को अपने कर्मो से प्राप्त करके बृहस्पति को गायों का स्वामी बनाने की अभिलाषा की. बृहस्पति ने अपने सहयोगी मरुतों के साथ गायों को गुफा से बाहर किया. (८)
EN English Translation
The Maruts sincerely wished to make Jupiter the lord of the cows by getting the cows abducted by the pangs from their deeds. Jupiter, along with his companions, the Maruts, drove the cows out of the cave. (8)
तं व॒र्धय॑न्तो म॒तिभिः॑ शि॒वाभिः॑ सिं॒हमि॑व॒ नान॑दतं स॒धस्थे॑ । बृह॒स्पतिं॒ वृष॑णं॒ शूर॑सातौ॒ भरे॑भरे॒ अनु॑ मदेम जि॒ष्णुम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम मरुद्गण तथा अंतरिक्ष में सिंह के समान गर्जन करने वाले, अभिलाषापूरक एवं विजयशील बृहस्पति को कल्याणकारिणी स्तुतियों के द्वारा बढ़ाते हैं एवं संग्रामो में उनकी प्रशंसा करते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
We raise the deserts and the lion-like roaring, desire-filled and triumphant Jupiter in space through the praises of the benevolent and admired him in the struggles. (9)
य॒दा वाज॒मस॑नद्वि॒श्वरू॑प॒मा द्यामरु॑क्ष॒दुत्त॑राणि॒ सद्म॑ । बृह॒स्पतिं॒ वृष॑णं व॒र्धय॑न्तो॒ नाना॒ सन्तो॒ बिभ्र॑तो॒ ज्योति॑रा॒सा ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति जिस समय नानारूप वाले अन्नों का उपयोग करते हैं और जब अंतरिक्ष अथवा ऊंचे स्थानों पर चढ़ते हैं, उस समय नाना दिशाओं में स्थित तेजस्वी देवगण अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने वाले बृहस्पति की स्तुति अपने मुंह से करते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
At the time when Jupiter uses the grains of different forms and when they ascend to space or high places, the bright gods in different directions praise Jupiter with their mouths fulfilling the desire. (10)
स॒त्यामा॒शिषं॑ कृणुता वयो॒धै की॒रिं चि॒द्ध्यव॑थ॒ स्वेभि॒रेवैः॑ । प॒श्चा मृधो॒ अप॑ भवन्तु॒ विश्वा॒स्तद्रो॑दसी शृणुतं विश्वमि॒न्वे ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! मेरी अन्न संबंधी स्तुति को सच्चा बनाओ. अपने गमनों द्वारा मुझ स्तोता की रक्षा करो. मेरे शन्रु नष्ट हों. सबको प्रसन्न करने वाली द्यावा-पृथिवी मेरे वचन को सुनें. (११)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! Make my food praise true. Protect me by your moves to the hymn. My shanrus are destroyed. Listen to My word that pleases everyone. (11)
इन्द्रो॑ म॒ह्ना म॑ह॒तो अ॑र्ण॒वस्य॒ वि मू॒र्धान॑मभिनदर्बु॒दस्य॑ । अह॒न्नहि॒मरि॑णात्स॒प्त सिन्धू॑न्दे॒वैर्द्या॑वापृथिवी॒ प्राव॑तं नः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वामी एवं महत्त्वशाली बृहस्पति ने महान् एवं उदकपूर्ण मेघ का मस्तक काट डाला. उन्होंने जल रोकने वाले राक्षस को मारा एवं सात नदियों को प्रवाहित किया. हे द्यावा- पृथिवी! तुम देवों के साथ मिलकर हमारी रक्षा करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
Lord and the important Jupiter cut off the head of the great and glorious cloud. They killed the water-stopping monster and flowed seven rivers. Give it - earth! You protect us together with the gods. (12)
