अग्ने॒ शर्ध॑न्त॒मा ग॒णं पि॒ष्टं रु॒क्मेभि॑र॒ञ्जिभिः॑ । विशो॑ अ॒द्य म॒रुता॒मव॑ ह्वये दि॒वश्चि॑द्रोच॒नादधि॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! चमकते हुए आभरणों से युक्त एवं शत्रुओं को हराने में कुशल मरुतों के गणों को आज बुलाओ. हम आज दीप्तिशाली स्वर्ग से अपने सामने उपस्थित होने के लिए मरुतों को बुलाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Call today the people of maruts with shining fillers and skilled in defeating the enemies. Today we call upon the Maruts to appear before us from the glorious heaven. (1)
यथा॑ चि॒न्मन्य॑से हृ॒दा तदिन्मे॑ जग्मुरा॒शसः॑ । ये ते॒ नेदि॑ष्ठं॒ हव॑नान्या॒गम॒न्तान्व॑र्ध भी॒मसं॑दृशः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जिस प्रकार तुम हृदय में मरुतों के प्रति पूजा का भाव रखते हो, उसी प्रकार वे हमारे समीप शुभकामनाएं लेकर आवें. जो केवल पुकार सुनकर तुम्हारे समीप आ जाते हैं, ऐसे भयानक दीखने वाले मरुतों को हव्य देकर बढ़ाओ. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Just as you have a sense of worship for the Maruts in your heart, so may they bring good wishes to Us. Those who come close to you only when you hear the call, raise up such terrible-looking maruts by giving them a greeting. (2)
मी॒ळ्हुष्म॑तीव पृथि॒वी परा॑हता॒ मद॑न्त्येत्य॒स्मदा । ऋक्षो॒ न वो॑ मरुतः॒ शिमी॑वा॒ँ अमो॑ दु॒ध्रो गौरि॑व भीम॒युः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धरती पर रहने वाली एवं प्रबल राजा वाली प्रजा जिस प्रकार दूसरे से पीड़ित होकर अपने स्वामी के समीप जाती है, उसी प्रकार मरुतों का प्रसन्न समूह हमारे पास आता है. हे मरुतो! तुम्हारा समूह अग्नि के समान कुशल एवं भीषण बैलों से युक्त गौ के समान दुर्धर्ष हो. (३)
EN English Translation
Just as the people who live on earth and have a strong king approach their master, suffering from the other, so the happy group of Maruts comes to us. O Maruto! May your group be as skilled as agni and as wicked as a cow with fierce bulls. (3)
नि ये रि॒णन्त्योज॑सा॒ वृथा॒ गावो॒ न दु॒र्धुरः॑ । अश्मा॑नं चित्स्व॒र्यं१॒॑ पर्व॑तं गि॒रिं प्र च्या॑वयन्ति॒ याम॑भिः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुदगण दुर्धर्ष बैल के समान अपने ही ओज से शत्रुओं का नाश करते हैं. वे गरजने वाले, व्याप्त एवं जलवर्षा द्वारा संसार को प्रसन्न करने वाले मेघों को अपने गमन द्वारा बरसने को विवश करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The deserts destroy the enemies with their own oj like a vicious bull. They force the thundering, pervading and raining clouds that please the world to rain by their own passage. (4)
उत्ति॑ष्ठ नू॒नमे॑षां॒ स्तोमैः॒ समु॑क्षितानाम् । म॒रुतां॑ पुरु॒तम॒मपू॑र्व्यं॒ गवां॒ सर्ग॑मिव ह्वये ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! उठो. हम स्तोत्रों द्वारा उन्नति प्राप्त, अतिशय महान् व जलराशि के समान अपूर्व मरुतों को बुलाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Wake up. We call upon the unborn maruts, which have been advanced by the hymns, like the great water. (5)
यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं ह्यरु॑षी॒ रथे॑ यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं रथे॑षु रो॒हितः॑ । यु॒ङ्ग्ध्वं हरी॑ अजि॒रा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे॒ वहि॑ष्ठा धु॒रि वोळ्ह॑वे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम अपने रथों में चमकीले रंग की घोड़ियों अथवा लाल रंग के घोड़ों को जोड़ो. बोझा ढोने में मजबूत हरि नामक शीघ्रगामी घोड़ों को तुम बोझा ढोने में लगाओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Add brightly colored horses or red horses to your chariots. You put the fast-moving horses called Hari strong in carrying the load. (6)
उ॒त स्य वा॒ज्य॑रु॒षस्तु॑वि॒ष्वणि॑रि॒ह स्म॑ धायि दर्श॒तः । मा वो॒ यामे॑षु मरुतश्चि॒रं क॑र॒त्प्र तं रथे॑षु चोदत ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे रथ में जुड़े हुए दीप्तिशाली, जोर से शब्द करने वाले एवं सुंदर घोड़े तुम्हारे द्वारा इस प्रकार से हांके जाते हैं कि तुम्हारी यात्रा में विलंब नहीं करते. (७)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! The bright, loud- wording and beautiful horses attached to your chariot are driven by you in such a way that they do not delay your journey. (7)
रथं॒ नु मारु॑तं व॒यं श्र॑व॒स्युमा हु॑वामहे । आ यस्मि॑न्त॒स्थौ सु॒रणा॑नि॒ बिभ्र॑ती॒ सचा॑ म॒रुत्सु॑ रोद॒सी ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम लोग मरुतों के उस अन्नपूर्ण रथ का आह्वान करते हैं, जिस रथ में रमणीय जलों को धारण करने वाली मरुतों की माता बैठती है. (८)
EN English Translation
We call upon the full chariot of the maruts, in which sits the mother of the maruts holding the delightful waters. (8)
तं वः॒ शर्धं॑ रथे॒शुभं॑ त्वे॒षं प॑न॒स्युमा हु॑वे । यस्मि॒न्सुजा॑ता सु॒भगा॑ मही॒यते॒ सचा॑ म॒रुत्सु॑ मीळ्हु॒षी ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! हम सुशोभित, दीप्त, स्तुतियोग्य तुम्हारे उस रथ का आह्वान करते हैं, जिस में शोभन उत्पत्ति वाली व सौभाग्य वाली मरुत्माता विराजती है. (९)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! We call upon the adorned, bright, praiseworthy chariot of yours, in which the desert mother of adornment and good fortune is victorious. (9)
